Obama Web Site Hacked

Security experts have managed to unravel the relatively simple exploit that allowed hackers to prank Barack Obama’s Web site just days before the Pennsylvania primary. Visitors to the site’s community blogs page found themselves redirected to HillaryClinton.com. Neither campaign wanted to talk about it with the Associated Press.

AP via Google:

While the hack appears to have been a prank, researchers said the breach underscored that candidates risk exposing their supporters to computer viruses and identity theft if they don’t secure their Web sites. For instance, a similar mechanism could be employed to redirect campaign site users to a site that steals personal information from visitors.

“With people closely watching the heated contest to determine the next U.S. president, you can bet that this won’t be the last time such attacks happen,” Symantec Corp. researcher Zulfikar Ramzan wrote on the company’s official blog.

Neither campaign responded to e-mail messages seeking comment.

The Hillary Campaign website is pretty disgraceful. I really believe she is stuck in the 90s because everything about her campaign, her attitude and even her internet media looks like it was fresh off the press… ten years ago.

I can watch Tommy Boy and Billy Madison for entertainment purposes, but I don’t think either are funny anymore.

You’re right. A Clintonista...we’ve heard from enough of them on this site alone to know the are without a sense of humor. More like neurotic OCD’ers.

On another note, you mentioned the food crises that Truthdig hasn’t. I’m not sure why. I’ve read at least a dozen pieces on it in as many days.

One guess is the sheer terror of it, and the magnitude of the crises, (which doesn’t appear to have any resolution) is a complex subject to write on.

So, I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. I mean in all sincerity, it should scare absolutely everybody into a serious moment. Maybe that’s why there’s been no mention.

Then again, Truthdig is headquartered in LA, (or Southern Cal) where we aren’t used to food crises, and the shelves haven’t been particularly bare.

Take that back...even Trader Joe’s had had some bare spots lately, and the prices have doubled...literally...doubled.

Weak…

That’s not even creative.  The least the hackers could have done was sent Obama bloggers to some nasty German porn or something.  Maybe a jihadist site.  The RNC.  Hillary Clinton’s site was about the most unfunny thing they could have done.

This is what would make me suspect a Clintonista or the campaign...the lack of humor.
