Lieberman In Decline

While he continues to get tremendous support from Republicans (go figure), Joe Lieberman is on the outs with Democrats and independents in his home district, according to a new poll. Were an election held today, 74 percent of Democrats would vote for Ned Lamont, while the same percentage of Republicans would vote for Lieberman over their own candidate.

(h/t: Political Wire)

Daily Kos:

Given Lieberman’s high-profile efforts on behalf of John McCain, I wondered how his constituents were taking it. So I had independent pollster Research 2000 reprise a poll I commissioned last year testing a rematch between Ned Lamont and Joe Lieberman. I found last year that buyer’s remorse had set in. It’s even worse this year.

[...] Lieberman has shored up his support with Republicans, who clearly see him as one of their own. He has predictably lost ground among Democrats. But interestingly, he also lost the same amount of ground (six points) with independents.

Well Lefty again! Assuming I hate all Jews as your new ranting claims, that makes me a hater of some 14 million people in the world, which is the total population of the Jews.

On the other hand, you certainly hate 1.4 billion Muslims, or one fifth of humanity, including 350 million Arabs. So my last question for you is this:

Who among us has more capacity for hatred than the the other. If your hate-filled heart has the capacity to absorb the hate of some 1.4 billion peoples, then that makes you the most hating person par excellence in the world.

Congratulations on your new title!

There is nothing “up-front” about LIEberman - he’s merely the beneficiary of a MSM myth that goes through utter contortions to shape a PR campaign that says America has a ‘special relationship’ w/Israel.
See that relationship for exactly what it is, a bribe that smacks of extortion, deceit and terribly selfish, dangerous motivations.

What could have been one of the coolest places on the Planet is now held in Global contempt just like us - now that’s sad, sick and Ugly. Israel is a land mine of bad karma.
Again,“show me who you walk with and I’ll tell you what you are”.

The Senator from the State of Israel, is no different than the other 534 members of Congress, except he is more up-front about it, and has the support of his electorate and millions of voters elsewhere.

If this man has done any service to the nation and his state it is to spotlight the dangers of an elected public official who feels, having once been elected that he is entitled to office forever.

The interesting thing was Lieberman won with the help of a similar demographic that Hillary now enjoys, non-college educated. The Republicans ran an utter fool that wasn’t seriously viable, the vast majority of Republicans voted for Lieberman, many Independents and the uneducated Dems. If the election was among just Democrats, Lamont would have won.

Anyway we’re stuck with him, as we have no recall provision here in CT. If you want a little fun, a small regional newspaper “The Day” recently apologized their endorsement of him…..I think it was too embarrassing to support him, while Lieberman whispers in McCain’s hearing aid? The text of the editorial is below on DemocraticUnderground.com , the newspaper’s link no longer displays the story.

” We Don’t Know This Sen. Joe “

Dear Fadel,

Lefty is like that. Ya kinda have to get to know him. I can well remember getting into some heated exchanges with him over a year ago, until I continued to read from him over time.

He has a bit of a ‘different’ sense of humor, and occassionally manages to squeeze 18 words of profanity into a 20 word post.

STILL, I’ve grown to appreciate him.

My favorite (and I still laugh about this everytime I see a post from Lefty) is his name for Ahmadinejad. Now, I don’t mean this irreverantly, (and I don’t know if Lefty did or not) because I actually like Ahmadinejad. That said, I still have fits of laughter at Lefty’s name for him, which is..

Imadinnerjacket.

There is no possible translation (that I know of at least) for this, to Arabic or Persian, but in English, it does bring a chuckle.

“Americans don’t talk like that”.
What America are you living in buddy?  Americans, especially republicans say far worse that that. Americans are as mean spirited as anyone else in the world.  Quit trying to put Americans up on some pedestal. With the help of george bush, joe lieberman, karl Rove and many other hoodlums, it is clear Americans have absolutely no claim on intelligence or integrity.  In fact, we are the laughing stock of the world right now.

Liberman, regardless of his ethnicity,  is a man with no self respect. He sold out and we should never let him forget it.(He couldn’t get elected as a democrat, so he ran as an independent when all along he was secretly a republican, that is truly disgusting and a abuse the public’s trust

Is “Arabist” even a real word?
“Or Rant”.  What does this mean?

How come anyone who speaks out against the war, phony politicians and even you has an “Arabist agenda”

“Go Joe Lieberman” more like “Go away Joe Liberman…..”

Only ones who care are on an Arabist agenda. Or rant. Quite evident.  Get a life, guys.

Hi Lefty!

I was really surprised and stunned that you wrote such strong attack against Joe Lieberman, a Jew who is a strong supporter of Israel, which you always vehemently defend and support against Arabs and Muslims.

What is surprising is that we are seeing eye-to-eye on the issue of Lieberman. But I am wondering if I had initiated such an attack, what would have been your reaction!

Anyway, I congratulate you on liberating yourself from the phobia of Antisemitism.

Poor little Joe. How dare he abandon his voters without notifying them? Why didn’t he have the guts to announce becoming a republican, even though it would have cost him the election.

Then he threw in his lot with McCain and abandoned his so-called principles even further. Of course, Gore was mistaken to think that bringing him on as vp candidate would win the Jewish vote, but that’s not the only mistake in Gore’s life. Enough about that already.

Liebermouse should be dumped by both political parties!
