A Lack of Leadership?

The Political Wire’s Taegan Goddard argues that Howard Dean and Harry Reid’s big idea for settling the Democratic nomination should have Democrats worried about a lack of leadership in their party. Reid and Dean both have called for superdelegates to make a decision by early July—a little under two months before the convention in Denver.

Political Insider:

If that’s it, Democrats should be worried about the lack of leadership in their party. In fact, a ... piece in Wednesday’s New York Times suggests “Democratic insiders” are worried that Dean doesn’t have the clout to successfully navigate a peaceful end to the primary race.

With Al Gore staying on the sidelines, it’s clear there are no power brokers left in the Democratic party.

There is so much more that I can’t believe our news medias have ignored the most shocking things about Obama’s mentors.  I’m sure the blinded Obamaites will say it is a lie and bury their heads in the sand but it is there for all to read.  Google James Cone, founder of black liberation theology movement, Kamau Kambon, professor N Carolina st Univ, speech at Howard U “We have to exterminate white people off the face of the earth”, Khalid Abdul Muhammad an honored ancestor of the above.  Need to research him better as there is a Khalid involved in getting Obama in to Harvard. Jeez, I am just really stunned.  Is the charismatic Obama Leading the White Population to extinction.  I don’t know the, imagination runs wild.  Where is our freakin Media when we need it???  Kissing Obama’s A**!!!
Maani, Doug Chalmers you are good at reseach please help me out.  Actually I’m even a little bit scared of what I’m not sure!!!!  Joe, Lee, Help!!!!! Bert!
I keep reading blog comments from liberals who believe that the Obama-Wright controversy is manufactured, that it’s much ado about nothing, that it’s ridiculous to hold Obama responsible for what his pastor says, etc.

This is whistling past the graveyard. It’s one thing to believe that it shouldn’t be an issue. But that’s not the world we live in. The Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s views are not news. Obama’s been in that church for 20 years. He’s identified Wright as his spiritual father. Yet Wright is in every apparent respect the antithesis of the irenic, transracial healing figure that Obama presents himself as, and that many people believe him to be.
Wright has openly embraced the “black liberation theology” of James Cone, a prominent theologian who has advocated some pretty shocking things, to wit:

Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.
Good luck explaining yourself, Obama. Any white presidential candidate couldn’t come within 1000 yards of a church that hailed a theologian preaching that kind of racist claptrap.

You’re not a fan of Mr. Obama - yet among the three candidates remaining, he is the closest to being right on Iraq.

He also portrays the most positive view among the three - something that Reagan rode to huge victory, stuffing Mr. Carter’s malaise-ridden, hand-wringing negative approach to leading into the loser’s column. Neither Hillary nor John get that ...

what are the positives YOU could offer in favor of your candidate - it Is Senator Clinton, not the former president, who is not running, eh?  what has she done positively?  who has she convinced rather than pressured and threatened?

ROFLOL!

Mr. Obama will be a better competitor to Mr McCain and also be a better president among the three in my wild speculation

but people from any point of view (even Sen. Clinton’s) should be able to enjoy your quip

Obama disgusts me too!  His rock star attitude is nauseous to say the least and watching those “I don’t watch anymore when I hear BARRRACK OOBAMMA channel is changed or tv off” slobber all over him, one who comes to mind is Chris tingle up the leg Mathews. Its sick, like teeny boppers and their rock star idol.

I see that Clinton and Obama are not tearing at each other as much as people think, the Bush run for the White House was really slam anyone who gets in the way.

Chaney was on television before the election and all he could talk about is putting down the Democrats, he ignored what the commetator was asking and just went for the attack the whole hour, at least Obama is somewhat civil, and Clinton is not going for blood, at least not yet.

I don’t see how McCain can win, after all his mother might be 96 yrs old, but his father died at 71 yrs of age, so then if he picks Liberman as his running mate, this will be a very old administration.

I cannot immagine the Republicians winning the White House.

Well Obama ... and all the people who ‘blindly’ support him disgust me!
You say Hillary is trying to steal the election ... however, Obama is the one
who blocked the revote in MIchigan, there by disenfranchising millions of American voters. Obama is the one who calls himself the unifying candidate, yet he’s the one who swore allegiance to the ‘Black Values-System’ at the Trinity Church. And, He’s the one who was joined at the hip with anti-American, racist Wright for 20 YEARS ... and, indirectly with Farrakan the biggot. This issue will not go away, because it goes directly to Obama’s lack of judgement, character, and credibility. And, as we all know, if Americans knew about the Obama/Wright/Farakan union a year ago, Obama wouldn’t be in the lead, let alone still in the race. The only other reason Obama is leading is because he’s outspending Clinton 3 to one. You can bash the Clintons, but the fact is that Bill Clinton provided leadership that gave us 8 years of peace and prosperity. What has Obama done? He hasn’t even fulfilled his obligations for the last year for the position he’s already been elected to! Do yourself a favor and read what Obama, Wright and Farrakan swear their allegence to, so that you can deal with reality.

I’ve voted loyal Democrat since 1981-National state & local.Only reason I’m not UN REGISTERED is what hope I have for Obama. The Clintons now disgust me (supported & defended for FAR TOO LONG)
The Entire Dem party has proven it’s loyality and Allegience to the sam entitiy as those who undermined the Republican Party. They too blew Ideological Smoke Up our liberal Asses for the last 35 yrs!
I am sick of these ‘Two Sides to the Same COIN’- Complacancy + Complicity= TREASON. If they Crown Hillary with the Nomination ( which no doubt they promised they’d do long ago) I’ll either follow Obama, or vote for Gravel.I will not support either of the Inc’s Horses in this Race. I wouldn’t be surprised if she accepts VP for Mac, if by chance WE actually get a Voice (legitmate) this Election. but with the BS of ‘SuperDelegates’ It appears they will Steal this one to For THEIR GIRL (already stole MI Primary for her- Don’t seat Us, It was Rigged- Date change to Scam tron ‘count’)55% my ass!

^ best describes a rudderless democratic party (staying with the nautical metaphor) minus “ANY” meaningful leadership.  Once again we are witnessing the party flirting with “snatching defeat from the jaws of victory”.  Think about it: The Dems should be able to run Elmer Fudd and WIN!  Were the dems up against a party of lackeys this might be overlooked; but they’re up against the most organized pack of wolves extant (these guys are hunter/killers for real).  I really have to question if the Dems understand the game?  McCain s out there having a ball running all over the world looking presidential (sounding like Alfred E. Newman/so who cares) and generally sailing calm waters (there’s that nautical stuff again).  Mercy, is there any hope?  I’m writing this with a smile because the only other options are a temper tantrum or a crying jag.
