Kevorkian Sets Sights on CongressPosted on Mar 24, 2008
Dr. Jack Kevorkian, whose controversial work as a euthanasia advocate earned him both the nickname “Dr. Death” and time in the slammer, has a new crusade: to win a seat in Congress. Stranger things have been known to happen in American politics.

Must be teenagers who make these wisecracks. Or perhaps we really are out of touch with reality.

An appropriate campaign slogan could be; Kevorkian——he’s dead right!

I regard Kevorkian as a true hero. As a libertarian, I have to ask the question: who owns your life? Is it the State? Or is it you?
If you own your own life, then you have the right to end your life whenever you see fit. The state has no special wisdom to overrule you in such a personal matter.
Anyone who has ever visited a wing of a hospital where the dying are kept alive, in shrieking agony, should support Kevorkian.

Kevorkian Sets Sights on Congress
I only wish he had done that years ago. Oh hell, I thought he was going to put them out their misery not run for Congress.
How he’ll be able to tell the dead, from the merely dead from the neck up Senators and Congressmen I’ll never know.

Report thisAs not only a Dem, and a Believer in our inalienable Rights, but a Social Worker in Long Term Care, I support You. I no longer work in the industry because of the Undignified way Our Elderly and Disabled are cared for- Private for Profits should Never be in the Business of Human Welfare- the Bottom line focus, Not the Bottom of a Patient. Staff Ratio’s alone scream Unhumane and Unethical.
then add to that the number of patients who asked Me to ‘Help Them’ ..They were suffering.
Such necessary Basic Human needs should NEVER be left in the hands of Profiteers (that include the gift we have been given in Natural Resources- tools for the survival and Progress of Mankind)
It’s time the Gov’t focusing on it’s essential Duties and NOT on our Private Lives.

I believe that I have a right to determine the time of my own death and that there is no authority “out there”, whether some questionable God, or government, or “religion” to tell me otherwise. I myself am well over 70, and my greatest anxiety comes not from death itself, but from not being able to go when I decide it is time to go. Incidentally, I also support cloning, therefore, in another “civilization” I will hopefully be able to do both.

I believe it was Thomas Pain who said the only life you can morally take is your own. Kevorkian makes good sense. Official ideology sucks. There is no justification for it based on facts, logic or reason. No one gets hurt by someone taking their life. We need to end rule by busybodies. it is shameful that this man was put in jail and scum of the Earth like Bush and Cheney are free to harm others. We have to do everything to get rid of people such as Bush and Cheney or the scum on Fox News. Our society and culture would be better for it.

Our Congress really needs “Dr. Death”. We better vote for him than most of present “dead” members at both house.
