In one of the deadliest strikes in months, five U.S. soldiers were fatally injured by a suicide bomber Monday as they patrolled Baghdad’s Mansour district. Three other soldiers and an Iraqi translator were wounded in the blast but survived, according to the BBC.

BBC:

“Five soldiers paid the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of the Iraqi and American people,” said Col Allen Batschelet, chief of staff of US forces in Baghdad.

“We remain resolute in our resolve to protect the people of Iraq and kill or capture those who would bring them harm.”

The strike takes the number of US troops killed since the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 close to 4,000, says the BBC’s Hugh Sykes in Baghdad.

Well, since this war was started with the blessing and authority of a bunch of dimbulbs in Congress, based on a bunch of lies delivered by the dimbulb in chief.

And since altogether too many of said dimbulbs stand resolute in their refusal to admit they really screwed up.

And since said dimbulbs continue defending their mindless decision based on equally mindless direction. Seems to me Col Allen Batschelet is looking in the wrong country for the people who would bring the troops harm.

Making the cavalier decision to send troops into harms way, with not a thought given to whether or not some would die, and many more would return home damaged forever, speaks volumes to the lack of honest leadership we are stuck with.

And screams out to the reality that people in high places need to earn that position.

And if they still stand stubborn and refuse to acknowledge their failure, particularly a failure that has shed so much blood and cost so much treasure, maybe they don’t deserve to be in a high place!

Meanwhile more families grieve. More bodies are flown home under cover of darkness, where even the COWARDS who started this war refuse to stand in the sunshine and give those returning dead the dignity of recognition.

That is another great National Shame!

We are not aloud to recognize those “Five soldiers (who) paid the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of the Iraqi and American people,” when they come home!

No respect, no dignity, no recognition. No public, high profile acknowledgement whatsoever!

It’s as though they didn’t exist!

IT’S AS THOUGH THEY DID NOT EXIST!!!!!!

Where is the public outrage?

Another sad day for America when another 5 young American lives are sacrificed at the altar of evil Bush and gang!

Obviously, the count of the sacrificial lambs in Iraq at the altar of Bush has been discontinued. Does any one know the count up to this point?

And by the way, what happened to the so-called successful surge?

Is it time to wake up America?

secure in the Green Zone to say we remain resolute in protecting the Iraqi people. I remember the same guys in Vietnam saying I wish I could go with you, but they need me here. Pure BS!
