Kucinich Survives, and Then Some

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama weren’t the only ones toughing it out Tuesday night. Rep. Dennis Kucinich managed to fight off no fewer than four primary challengers to hold on to his party’s nomination and, in all likelihood, his seat in the House of Representatives. It appears that the Democrats of Ohio’s 10th District are happy with his service: He won by almost 20 points.

Perhaps he should re-enter the presidential race or get back to work on those articles of impeachment. Go Dennis!

Good news in an otherwise bleak day.
Kucinich wins, Hillary’s Dems are one step closer to electing McCain.
Somewhere it may even out.

Thankfully Dennis will remain in the Congress.
Too bad he was forced by the well-financed challenger to give up his campaign for President. There is now no one in the race calling for prompt and a total withdrawl from Iraq. In 2004 he persevered all the way to the nomination process, carrying that position for all of us? Who will give peace a chance?

This should cheer you up . We’ll all get to pay chimpy for the rest of his miserable , useless life . Feel better ? Now you can kick back in your trailer in whatever holler you live in , admire that McCain bumpersticker on the ole pickup and dream how he’ll keep us at war and extend those tax cuts for the top 1% and oil companys . That’ll show those damn pointy headed liberals , huh ?

Paul Hackett was part of the group attacking Kucinich . I heard him spewing venom , going on about how Kucinich wasn’t representing his district . I find that interesting because Kucinich’s main opponent was bankrolled by business interests who want him out and replaced by someone more compliant ( easily bought ) . I found it rather odd that Hackett would take such a sudden interest in a congressional race on the other side of the state . I would like to know just what inspired Hackett to help try to defeat one of the most honest , liberal members of his own party . He was his usual obnoxous self , going on about how Kucinich was more interested in running for president than representing his district . I would really like to know who sicked that flaming jackass on Kucinich and what he received , or expected to receive for his hatchet job ? Very strange indeed . I had always thought Hackett was a jerk . I now know it for a fact . It seems obvious that he was doing the dirty work for the republican businessmen who wanted Kucinich out , at any rate he’s a true POS .

Dennis Kucinich is my lobbiest.  He represents and identifies with many of my own viewpoints.  Only the good people of Ohio have the power to keep him there.

And now I know why the word MISCREANT was ever lingualized.

Follow me along here: DK whupped all four of his opponents combined, including Cimperman’s giant war chest. (For fun, check out where he got all that money.) DK overcame the almost-immediate endorsement of Cimperman by the increasingly-irrelevant Plain Dealer. (For fun, check out who owns the PD.)

There is a pent-up demand for a true liberal at the national level (look at the previous posts from all over.) So, Clinton and Obama may be looking to increase their appeal to that group, possibly by offering John Edwards as a VP.

For example, if Clinton could land John Edwards, she could do even better in Pennsylvania than she just did in Ohio. Further, she’d have the favorite son with her for North Carolina.

Of course, Obama could do the same. My point is, DK’s resounding victory over moneyed interests here in Cleveland has probably sent John Edward’s stock through the roof.

Thank you voters of Ohio’s 10th district!  You have kept one of the three or four voices of truth and reason remaining in the House of Representitives alive for at least two more years.  This is heartening, indeed, in light of the funds expended to unseat him as opposed to his limited resources.  Hope is alive!  Shine on Dennis!!!

Bravo!  And for those who haven’t read it yet, you should read his 2002 speech:

Peace.

McCain is how old? Is he still relevant?

Kucinich wins and some say he shouldn’t have because he is an irritant? Well, I say, too bad we don’t have more irritants. Too many supposedly expert law makers have ignored the cost of tax cuts for the wealthy and borrowed money for a needless war and the chilling effect it is having on maintaining the countries basic resources. Kucinich has merely pointed out what should be the lead in every conversation about the survival of American Democracy and even the American nation. The outrageous practices of the investment and lending companies used to be recognized for what they are criminal activity. We need more people, like Kucinich who will speak the truth to power.

“Even those of us outside of Ohio are relieved to see your win. ”

Not all of us outside of Ohio. Our hopes were dashed when he managed to keep himself on the public payroll.

He’s an irritant, yes, but he is 61 and I suppose we can tolerate another few years of Kicinich. I bet he gets dumped in the next election, though.

Congrats to Dennis! One part of Ohio has redeemed itself in spite of the overall state going to Hillary.
