McCain
foxnews.com

About a day after John McCain expressed his disapproval over the insensitive comments of a supporter, the candidate was once again forced to disown ignoble behavior, this time from an official part of his party. The Tennessee Republican Party issued a press release that featured a photo of Barack Obama wearing traditional African clothing, cited his middle name (Hussein) and attempted to portray him as an anti-Semite.

That’s the problem with a big tent. It’s hard to keep out the riffraff, especially when you invite it inside.

Fox News [we know]:

San Antonio, TX—For the second time in as many days, Sen. John McCain was forced to rebuke members of his own party for over-the-top attacks on Democratic rival, Sen. Barack Obama.

The presumptive GOP nominee said he disapproves of a Tennessee Republican Party press release that used an infamous photo of Obama in traditional Somali dress, called the Democrat “Barack Hussein Obama,” and alleged that he consulted with anti-Semitic advisers.

“All I can say is that I have made my position very clear and I have made it time after time and I made it yesterday,” McCain said at a San Antonio press conference, alluding to his condemnation Tuesday of a local radio talk show host who also referenced the Democrat’s middle name at an Ohio rally.

McCain isn’t trying to “keep his campaign clean”.  He’s “trying” not to alienate the moderates and independents whose votes are essential to his election, while at the same time trying to obtain all the endorsements he can get from right wing religious extremists nutjobs like Ron Parsley and John Hagee.  He may denounce “specific acts” from “indiviudal” or “small groups” of nutjob supporters, but he can’t afford to denounce the leaders of nutjobs or the bigotry, racism, sexism and hatred they represent.  This isn’t about McCain’s honor; it’s about his political and moral hypocrisy.

In a way you have to admire McCain for trying to keep his campaign clean. The guys got enough problems without his “supporters’ starting to sling slime already!

[Poor things, they’ve been waiting so long for another roll in the swill, they simply can not be contained!]

Like he’s running out of money. Like he cant shake all those octogenarians that keep hanging around him. Like he probably hasn’t the time [or the inclination] to backtrack and see how many holes he’s already dug for himself. Like he can’t take back his silly trip to Iraq. You know, the one when he said it was just like a stroll through a market at home. Like the kiss on the forehead from the master himself.

Like his age ...

In fact when you think about it, you almost feel a twinge of compassion for the guy.

OK, I know. wink

I mean face it. How’s the poor guy going to conduct a clean campaign when his base is, well, republican?

Republican ... clean campaign. Clean campaign ... republican. Somehow I just cant get those two words together.

I agree.  The republicans are so desperate to avoid the industrial size can of whoopass coming their way they are forgetting to act honourably.  One would suspect that they are fast becoming the party of ugly minds and souls.  I wonder why McCain would want to be associated with that?

“Anybody willing to mark the ballot box for Senator John McCain, or Senator Hillary Clinton, should review this video first, and remember that this was 2 years in, and that it has continued for 3 additional years since, and that both Senators, (now candidates for President) approved this, and continue to approve it, in the view of “protecting American interests” in the Middle East…”

...and that Barack Obama also continued to approve it with his ongoing votes to continue funding the war once he got to the Senate…

Peace.

The “Cincinnati incident” and related interesting elements of Ohio politics are explored in an article posted Feb. 28 on Obama’s candidacy and some dynamics of the state of Ohio:

^ old bastard and a trainwreck in progress.  He’s like the dog chasing the car; he finally caught it and has no idea what to do.  His staff and advocates are out of control and simply don’t know how to behave.  They are racists and biggots who don’t even know what those things are and will continue to breach every aspect of civility.  He’s going to spend his whole campaign doing damage control.  Hell, even the conservatives don’t like or trust him; how far can he go?  This election is there for the dems; all they have to do is to be stupid and lose it to a loser.  Deja vue.

The republican party has already been researching how best to attack Obama because of his race and heritage, without crossing the line of racism or religion. Apparently, their method is going to be to let their minions do the attack work and John McCain chastise them for it.

Outraged,

Not so old, and not so new. Imagine how much worse it is now..after 3 MORE years of this?

The reminders are painful and necessary. Anybody willing to mark the ballot box for Senator John McCain, or Senator Hillary Clinton, should review this video first, and remember that this was 2 years in, and that it has continued for 3 additional years since, and that both Senators, (now candidates for President) approved this, and continue to approve it, in the view of “protecting American interests” in the Middle East.

They should also consider that with either one of these candidates, Clinton or McCain) the same is highly likely to occur in Iran as well, based on their previous language in this respect.

So yes..ALL OF THESE PEOPLE, US and THEM, with more and more and more of US and THEM every minute of every day.

For this, give acknowledgment to those who brought it to US, and THEM… Clinton and McCain.

Maani,

This is absolutely HILARIOUS coming from you of all people.

This tactic is far more typically YOU than it is the GOP.

As a matter of fact, as I read the article, I thought to myself, Maani must have been advising the Tennessee Repugs. This tactic is straight out of his book.

Hillary should be chastising YOU, just as McCain is chastising these people.

Trouble is, she’s too busy to know you even exist. Too bad. You’ve already cost her any votes from people who might be inclined to read this blog.

Even if they were thinking about voting for her, just reading your BS would be enough to make them change their minds.

Yup, typical MAANI tactic.

‘Nuff said. smile

Before the trolls jump in to exonerate their candidates on the war, check out this video.  It’s older but that only makes it even more unconscionable.  All these people…..do you get it!  All these people…......us and them.

The candidate SEEMS to take the high road by allowing his surrogates to take the low one and then chastising them for it.

Yup, typical GOP tactic.

‘Nuff said.

Peace.

What does one expect from the party that hasn’t had a single idea, worth mentioning, in 7 years, that didn’t benefit anyone else but themselves
