Mitt Romney dropped out of the presidential campaign Thursday, but you’ll probably still have him to kick around, as he hinted that he might run again. He said he made the difficult decision because he didn’t want to help the Democrats—and, by some illogical extension, the terrorists—win: “And, frankly, in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.”

Romney spent roughly $50 million of his own fortune on his campaign. Perhaps it wasn’t the best investment for Romney, but Americans can take comfort from the fact that even a Republican can’t simply buy his party’s nomination.

Los Angeles Times:

Republican Mitt Romney ended his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination today, saying that a Democratic victory in November could threaten U.S. security.

“If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I’d forestall the launch of a national campaign and, frankly, I’d be making it possible for Sens. [Hillary] Clinton or [Barack] Obama to win,” he said in an appearance before CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference that is a touchstone for the party faithful.

“And, frankly, in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.”

” but Americans can take comfort from the fact that even a Republican can’t simply buy his party’s nomination.”

That’s because as Bu$h knows, it’s far better to buy the general election.

35 million dollars spent on getting your ass handed to you. And think of all those starving conservatives and republicans you could have saved with that money.  I hear there’s a vacancy at the CRIMEA RIVER resort.

He won’t be missed. We have never seen such a blatant flipflopper since Bush was appointed by the Supremes and then elected four years later. He won’t be missed either.

I preferred Mitt over McCain and Huckabee, The only reason I registered as a Republican is to vote Ron Paul in the Maryland primary.  I want to see him debate the issues with McCain all the way to the Rebublican convention, who knows, McCain may kick it or die from being an asshole or something.

Remember alot of Ron Pauls Base are independents and people excluded from the primaries, he will benefit from Mitts demise.

The Repbulicans just can not be honest about anything. They seem to believe reality, reflecting on Bush/Cheney lies and deceit about terrorism, is a surrender to terrorists. In fact if there are terrorist in this country it is the Republican party, their lies and their enablers.

The last thing the country needs is religious fundamentalism and wishful thinking replacing the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. Please pay attention to history. The Religious Fundamentilist band together and attack those they believe are in error, if they win they then start attacking each other, because there is no straight road in Fundamentlism, just divisive grudge matchs as the mega group discovers they can’t agree on what their god said in the first place. Let’s have religious freedom, freedom from religious and let us keep our secular government and the rights for all of us. Not just the self appointed.

When are the Dems going to stand up and repute these NeoCON media vomits. Here’s what really happened Mitt.
Bush gave the terrorists everything they could dream to have.
Bush and Cheney allowed 911 to happen without any scrutiny from media.
Bush allowed Osama Bin Laden to escape to Pakistan
Bush gave the terrorists much more credibility than they deserve.
Bush gave the terrorists a great training ground in his illegal occupation of Iraq.
So on and so on…....
