Once Again, It’s ClosePosted on Feb 5, 2008
As the dust settles from Tuesday’s “national primary,” we know two things: John McCain is the Republican front-runner and the Democrats still have a race on their hands. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama swapped states all night. Obama won more states overall, but Hillary took home the big prizes of California and New York. Obama’s increasing momentum was not enough to overcome Clinton’s leads, but that doesn’t mean his campaign has come to an abrupt halt. Obama raised more than twice as much as Clinton in January, and time is widely considered his ally. At every step of this contest, we’ve been told the winner would be revealed shortly. We should know better by now. Update: To give you a sense of how close the polling was, Time estimates that Hillary won 50.2 percent of the popular vote, to Barack’s 49.8. That’s a difference of 0.4 percent, or 53,120 people.

Actually, the special interests and establishment love close. As long as these two candidates are in a dead heat, there is the chance they can swing super delegates towards Hillary.
I don’t think it will be a problem, though. I’m pretty confident Barack Obama will prove himself the front-runner after the next seven primaries. With every moment, the Obama Campaign gains momentum. Critical Mass will be achieved after the Pennsylvania Primary.

It seems Obama did better than was hoped by the business as usual crowd, it is apparent from the desperate anti Obama posts.
what’s with the Kennedy bashing? Republicans already supporting Hillary, so people holding their noses will vote for McCain?

Sue:
Obama’s arrogance was most clearly in evidence in New Hampshire, where rather than deliver a concession speech, he offered one line of congrats to Hillary - and then proceeded to give what he expected to be his victory speech!
As for the delegate situation, after all was said and done, Hillary ended up with a single “pledged” delegate more than Obama (625 to 624) after Super Tuesday. Thus, a statistical tie.
Peace.

Facts:
1)Obama was disqualified by the media a long time ago, and is just now catching up with the quality of the man’s character. Let’s not forget he was only the “black candidate” to the MSM for a long time until he actually proved his worth through hard work, good campaign organizing and one hell of a message.
2)It seems clear by Hillary Clinton’s disregard to earning more campaign funds in January that she expected it all to be over on Super Tuesday.
I don’t agree anything about the media treating Obama with kids gloves or enabling his surge. Not as if I take MSM seriously about a damn thing anyway.
Being as it is, Barack trumped Hillary last night and won big by finishing a little ahead of even instead of being marginalized. This is my opinion based on two observations I view as facts.

I usually do. For better or worse, people on the Clinton payroll are allowed to call into progressive radio and make posts on counter-culture news websites with these ridiculous stories of outlandish claim. It is something to be thankful for, though, that our side actually lets people have freedom of expression. Conservatives don’t really offer such treatment frequently.

In response to your response to my response to
“audacity to arrogance”....
Obama did not win big last night.
Is he surging?, yes he is.
I’d say the big winner last night, next to McCain, was Mike Huckabee.
You like to argue, and thats OK, but let’s do so in factual way
Barack may be very well on his way to the nomination,
but not today, and maybe not until the covention in August.
I simply stated that he has garnered an air of arrogance about him since Iowa, and I’m not the only one who sees it. I also see the media has played a big part in putting him there also.
These are just observations, no negativity against him. He’s a promising young candidate, but so is Hillary a powerful candidate. We have two to choose from. It’s cool you obviously like Barack, but not all share your opinions. Get over it!
Argue with proven facts!, and you stop crying.

I really get offended when people state nonsense about minority votes. It’s very rude to go around spouting generalities about whole ethnic groups, gender groups and religious groups. Additionally, these narrow-minded ideas don’t produce results or accurate information.
Don’t try to diminish Barack Obama’s win by posting some article about which group voted for whom. The real issue at hand is, at this point in time, Obama is dead even on delegates, won more states and proved he is going all the way. Polls favoring Clinton will fade away quickly.
I’ll state again how it diminishes your argument, your candidate and your purposes when your response to a statement is an article written by someone else. Not only are modern journalists of skeptical intelligence and integrity, but the large amount of publishings are speculative, biased, opinionated and largely inaccurate.
Use your own logic, study the issues and people’s reactions state to state, and you’ll come to the conclusions I have. This is why I’ve been right and the MSM has been wrong about Obama’s coming victory. Pay attention to the reality of facts and numbers, not fluffy yellow journalism.

Aegrus: control your rantings to the FACTS. I am HARDLY A RACIST being black / asian myself who was born and raised in Malaysia and have lived for thirty years in Obama’s neighborhood in Chicago which coincidently is where Farrakhan and Obama’s million dollar mansions are located (they are close neighbours)
I am very familiar with the Islamic views (a child born to a muslim man is considered a muslim). Muslims who renounce their religion are apostates and the fate of the apostate is horrific//death. The fact that Obama attended the mosque with his muslim step father while living in Indonesia (the world’s largest muslim country) gives me a better sense of who he is.
THERE IS A MOSQUITO BUZZING AROUND, IRRITATINGLY PERSISTENT : series of coincidences in the OMAMA WAVE….writing his autobiography at the wise old age of 30s, his connections with REZKO and AUCHI, his ongoing support of his cousin RAILA ODINGA , the murderous terrorist of Kenya who is committed to bringing the sharia rule to Kenya, HIS POLYGAMOUS MUSLIM FATHER, Obama’s self confessed drug addiction (searching for his identity? how cute), his unethical but politically expedient run for office in Chicago…it goes on and on and on…IF IT WALKS LIKE A DUCK, QUACKS LIKE A DUCK….

By Aegrus, February 6: “THE AUDACITY OF ARROGANCE….. Obama was the big winner last night…”
The facts speak for themselves, Aegrus. Minority ethnic groups have not voted for another minority group minority leader. Simple proof that Anglo-Americans have no idea how Asians or even Hispanics think, uhh.
So much for misogynist white males and where was the Oprah factor?:-
SAN FRANCISCO—California has long been “Clinton country,” but Hillary Rodham Clinton seized Super Tuesday’s biggest prize by winning big among women, Latinos, Asian-Americans, gays and lesbians, older voters and working class Californians - which blunted Barack Obama’s strong support from African Americans, white men and independents, according to exit polls…....
Clinton’s nearly 10-point margin in the state (with 96 percent of precincts reporting) will add to her national lead in the battle for delegates…..... Although no official count was available early Wednesday, state Democratic party officials predict that Clinton will get 20 to 30 more delegates when all results are in….......
As in her other primary victories, Clinton benefited from an enormous gender gap. While they ran just about even among men - with Obama holding an 18-point edge among white men - exit polls showed Clinton with a huge 59 percent to 34 percent advantage with women.
“Women are always an important voting block, but even more so in the Democratic primary,” said Ramona Oliver, a spokeswoman for Emily’s List, a group that supports pro-choice women candidates that endorsed Clinton early. “Everywhere she has had victories so far, they have been built on significant support from women.”
Obama proved once again his popularity among African-Americans, taking almost 4 out of 5 black votes in California. But Clinton more than compensated by winning among Latinos by a 2-to-1 margin and among Asian-Americans by a 3-to-1 margin.
“Asians were a surprise,” said Bruce Cain, director of the University of California’s Washington Center. “It’s the first (presidential) election we have seen where Asian voters were a big factor. They are about 8 percent of the Democratic electorate…. The two major immigrant groups voted for Clinton as opposed to the candidate who has the immigrant background.”
Clinton won with all age groups in California, but racked up her biggest margins among voters age 60 or older, winning 53 percent to 30 percent. She even won narrowly with voters ages 18-24 - 52 to 46 percent - a setback for the Obama campaign, which had counted on turning out young voters in droves….....
Gays and lesbians also broke sharply for Clinton, backing her 60 percent to 25 percent…” http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/02/06/BA3IUT6L8.DTL

It’s unbecoming of you, Sue, to deny the fact Obama was the big winner last night. Tying with Hillary on delegates, winning more states and shooting through the numbers against all odds. Hillary will lose, and there isn’t anything the Clintonistas or Republican spin machine can do to stop our victory and our taking back of America.

Amen!
This arrogance of Obama didn’t always show. I first noticed it after his win in Iowa. It was very un-becoming as it is now, so hence the knock-down to earth is sweet to see as it was when Hillary took New Hampshire.
I don’t know if I can truly blame him fully for this rock star status high that he is on. The media helped put him there.
So it’s just as sweet to see them eat crow as well.
Obama may have won more states and possibly (still counting) slightly more delegates that Hillary, but her momentous wins clearly were in Massachusetts and California! So much for the Kennedy, Kerry , Oprah, Shriver endorsements.

Despite issues of voter fraud and the inability of anyone’s vote to make a difference in the military expansion, it is apparent that two candidates who are in the democratic party have ignited the enthusiasm of many more voters than expected.
Why don’t Mr. Obama and Ms. Clinton simply join up and agree to be each other’s running mate, no matter which one ends up as the presidential nominee? As a team they might restore American values and ideals. Individually, I fear for the sinkhole of dirty politics and divisive rhetoric.

Looking at the wins from the Republican side, one can only scratch their heads and feed our young people into the grist mill of war. It saddens me to see the war not even a issue to a large majority of Democrats, their vote for Hillary has proven war will be the way of our nation.
Partisan politics is the bane of the people, a choice of no choice. Pablum offered by special interests to keep the ignorant happy. Dancing in the streets while we loose our jobs and rights.
Special interests have won, with the demise of Gravel and Kucinich, those who would stop war silenced by media, ignored by other candidates. When Gravel attacked the military complex, the other shoe never dropped. Kucinich fought for the people, but impeachment was off the table. Ron Paul called attention to huge waste of money, few listen. We are doomed to destroy ourselves
Keep the masses ignorant, So be it.
