Meet Frank Giustra, Mining Magnate and Clinton Chum

Giustra and Clinton
news.bbc.co.uk

The name Frank Giustra may not ring any bells with those outside the international mining industry, but Thursday’s New York Times brings Giustra (pictured with Clinton) out of relative obscurity into sharp focus with its startling report about the Canadian entrepreneur, who boldly inserted himself into the uranium business in Kazakhstan (!) and into Bill Clinton’s inner circle.

The New York Times:

Unlike more established competitors, Mr. Giustra was a newcomer to uranium mining in Kazakhstan, a former Soviet republic. But what his fledgling company lacked in experience, it made up for in connections. Accompanying Mr. Giustra on his luxuriously appointed MD-87 jet that day was a former president of the United States, Bill Clinton.

Upon landing on the first stop of a three-country philanthropic tour, the two men were whisked off to share a sumptuous midnight banquet with Kazakhstan’s president, Nursultan A. Nazarbayev, whose 19-year stranglehold on the country has all but quashed political dissent.

Mr. Nazarbayev [President Nursultan A. Nazarbayev] walked away from the table with a propaganda coup, after Mr. Clinton expressed enthusiastic support for the Kazakh leader’s bid to head an international organization that monitors elections and supports democracy. Mr. Clinton’s public declaration undercut both American foreign policy and sharp criticism of Kazakhstan’s poor human rights record by, among others, Mr. Clinton’s wife, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.

Within two days, corporate records show that Mr. Giustra also came up a winner when his company signed preliminary agreements giving it the right to buy into three uranium projects controlled by Kazakhstan’s state-owned uranium agency, Kazatomprom.

Clinton is lying scum!

Watch as he wags that same finger (at the 9/11 Truth protester) that he wagged at the world when he swore he “never had sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinski”.

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/politics/2008/01/31/s ot.clinton.hecklers.cspan

The “official” story of 9/11 is an absolute lie.

Clinton knows it....they ALL know it.

Now we find out that Karl Rove was probably running the 9/11 Commission thru Phillip Zelikow:

911:

Thank you for the Truthout article.  Stunning.  I was aware of all of Zelikow’s conflicts of interest, but the news that Rove may have been pulling the strings brings us closer and closer to the smoking gun.

Peace.

As far as I’m concerned, people, we’re back to the “lesser of two evils” in deciding on our next president. How long has it been since our vote was for someone/something as opposed to the “lesser of the two” re: evil ?? Obama, at this point ( at least to me) represents the lesser of evil...candidate. The repugs are oferring nothing that represents the “voice” of America. All we are being offered is the same old “best of the bunch” to support. What we, as Americans, need is a candidate that we really WANT, a candidate that we can truly BELIEVE in.  Another election cycle provides us with the “lesser” scenario.  That is the crux of our dilemma.  The “lesser than” is what we get, while the “I agree with this guy.girl” doesn’t present itself for us to get to decide.

Really, people.  Step back and give this just a little serious thought based on our understanding of the role the media plays in campaigns and elections.

Is there any coincidence that this story - which has the PERCEPTION of being anti-Clinton (both Bill and Hillary) no matter what it ULTIMATELY says about Hillary - appeared on the day that Hillary and Obama will be debating head-to-head for the first and only time prior to Super Tuesday?

Let’s get real.  There ARE no coincidences where the MSM is concerned.  This was a deliberate attempt to undermine Hillary on the eve of the debate.

Peace.

The power elite are in control, and this is another example, which they wish had not been seen by the masses.

Please put this story into context with Robert Scheer’s story “Obama, Clinton and War” and you get the full picture.

http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/20080129_obama_cli nton_and_the_war/

Bill and Hillary Clinton are trying to perpetuate the same pillage and plunder of our democracy as has been accomplished by both Bush 41, and 43.

A vote for Hillary is a vote for WAR WITHOUT END, and the enslavement of both our people and our economy.

Obama in ‘08

There will be eight years of this stuff if Hillary is elected.  We don’t need it.  Bill is a bull with his own portable china closet.  This isn’t happening with the Carters or the Bushes 41.

Re: happening with .... Bushes 41

Whether or not you think this kind of thing is unsavory or inappropriate, Bush 41 has been doing almost the same thing, and his little boy is in the White House.

Media at it again....

Any little thing thay can muster up on the Clinton’s they will. And you can bet it will all be negative.

I am only now starting to realize how much those two are truly hated.

How pathetic.

Is anybody else running for president? How about McCain baggage?, Romney? Huckabee? And, yes even the rock star Barack is sure to have some skeletons in his closet, but you don’t see the press digging to far to unearth anything negative about them.

Again, I blame the media for most of the negativity going on in the Clinton camp. Higher-ups out there are working overtime to bring them down one way or the other.

Enough already!

Re: Media at it again....

This article isn’t really negative. It’s quite objective, and any conclusions are drawn from the individual. I certainly didn’t think it was negative, so much as it was ambiguous with its lack of focus.

As I said in my earlier post, the conclusions one could draw from the information given in this piece varies greatly. Let’s not pile the sandbags just yet until a discussion is had, and people’s opinions are understood.

Re: Re: Media at it again....

I agree.  In and of itself this article is informative.  It’s negativity would depend on ones opinion of it’s timimg and how the information is interpreted.

Not Negative?..maybe, maybe not....

Just leaves one wondering why was it brought up to begin with?

Heck of a job

Bill Clinton selling out to a dictator.  Can’t help but wonder if Bill forgot why our soldiers are dying in Iraq.  Doing the same thing over and over again, leading to one fiasco after the next.

Interesting Piece

Lies and distortion are a common sight in our political spectrum. I am concerned about the intent of linking this article, however.

Specifically, HRC worked to the contrary of Bill in many of the issues his friend Giustra was working on. It’s good to have an article displaying her courage as a politician even in opposition to her husband. Is this story creating pro-Hillary courage or more HRC can’t cntrol Bill rhetoric?

There is also the issue about dealing with countries who control news media and have human rights issues. Throughout the article, one might have an impression on Bill which would conclude to a lack of moral ethics. Still, the money given in response of the former president’s assistance was allocated to the Clinton’s charity organization.

Maybe all this would lead one to believe more nuclear energy would be utilized under a new Clinton presidency. Of which I’m not opposed, so long as proper spending was given to research and use of alternatives.

Somewhat thought provoking. A little conflicting, too.
