Well, Murdoch was originally based in Australia and last year saw his papers there withdrawing from the loser, former prime minister John Howard, before the general elections in November.

That could be happening step by cautious step again as regards the US presidential incumbent. First London, today Sydney - but Fox News is running it as well!!!:-

Of course Ellsberg is a hero for revealing the Pentagon Papers but even he is guilty of maintaining the myth of an American free press when he implies that the media were so much more honest back in 1971.

The fact is that the U.S. mass media have been the tools of the corporate elite almost since day one. For decades the CIA had direct influence over hundreds of mass media outlets under Project Mockingbird, including the Washington Post and the New York Times.

Suppression of the truth and the creation of a mythical reality which which to manipulate Americans is the purpose of the U.S. mass media and they’re very good at it.

All of Ellsberg’s commentary is probably true , but is he foolish enough to think the American media establishment actually has a conscience ???????
Go write your next best seller and then fall asleep for another decade . That’s what this “story” is really all about . Our media is the laughing stock of the world , just as our national image is . Shame-Shame-Shame .

Sibel Edmonds was deposed by the 9/11 Commission, and revealed quite a bit about a number of things, some of which went straight to the top.  Yet the Commission chose to ignore her entire testimony, and gave her only a single footnote in the whitewash that was the 9/11 Commission Report.  As well, she was made subject to a virtual lifelong “gag rule” that prevents her from talking to the press or writing a book.

But she got around it.  A man named Karl Schwarz had a long discussion with her, in which she told him virtually everything.  If you are interested in this, Schwarz’s book is called “A One-Way Ticket to Crawford, Texas.” The book itself is VERY poorly written and edited.  However, if you stick with it, you will find out an enormous amount about how our government is involved in drug trafficing, money laundering, etc.
