Mitt Romney has captured a crucial victory in Michigan. He had desperately needed to win in a big state. The outcome of the latest primary means Republicans have three proven candidates in contention for the nomination.

Politico:

Romney throws an already confused race into disarray by becoming the third different candidate to win a state. He came in second in both Iowa and New Hampshire, and won in tiny Wyoming.

In a speech shortly after the last polls closed, he declared his victory “the beginning of a come back and a comeback for America.”

“Is Washington broken?” he demanded, to the cheers of supporters. “Can it be fixed? Are we the team to get it done?” His backers shouted “Yes!”

What was Senator Joe Lieberman doing at rallies for Senator McCarthy? I saw him standing with his silly grin right behind the Republican Senator. My take: Lieberman, who is an unscrupulously sly operator, realizes that the Democrats may no longer need him after the November elections. To pave the way for his transition to the Republican party he is brown nosing McCarthy.

Romney wil get the nomination and win in a go-away landslide - as the media keeps pointing out. He looks right for the role he wants to play.

I think it’s exactly that. I don’t live in Michigan anymore, but both of my parents do, and although they claim no loyalty to either party, this election cycle they’re voting Democrat. Because of that, they want the opponent that turns their stomach the least (according to them) running on the Republican side. Mitt was the common choice.

Could it be that Michigan Democrats helped Romney out?

The latest polls out of Florida show McCain, Huckabee, Rommey and Rudy in a 4 way tie.
So in essence their wont be a clear favorite until super Tuesday. Also who the supporters of the second tier candidates switch to might decide the race.
