Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid

The House has followed in the wake of the Senate, saying yes to $70 billion in funds for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Anti-war Democrats have had little success overcoming Republican filibusters and a publicity blitz meant to sell the “surge.”

CNN:

The House of Representatives approved another $70 billion in war spending on Wednesday, capping a year of frustration for Democrats who took control of Congress on pledges to end the war in Iraq.

The money was part of a $555 billion measure that funds government agencies for the 2008 budget year. It passed on a 272-142 vote, more than a month after Democratic leaders had refused to approve more money for Iraq without requiring President Bush to begin withdrawing U.S. combat troops from the nearly five-year-old conflict.

Democrats credit their opposition to the widely unpopular war for the 2006 election victories that brought them to power in both houses of Congress.

“Louise mentioned all of the returning dead that we’re not allowed to see. (Barbara Bush had demanded it be kept secret and under wraps, like absolutely everything else these past 7 plus years). Barbara Bush has also accused her son of ‘ruining the family name’.”

***

Barbara actually made this request when Daddy Bush had his war. Clinton abandoned the practice. Actually went to Dover and received the bodies himself. The disgusting practice was resumed under the kid. Barbara explained on Larry King Live why she had done it.

“Why should I clutter up my beautiful mind with [that] ... I mean it’s so irrelevant.” She said.

Yes, she said it was so irrelevant!

And that in a nutshell explains why the kid is the way he is. As far as Barbara saying the kid is ruining the family name, I think that’s just a rumor started by a blogger. I think Barbara has never been prouder. After all, she is the kids mother, and he is the war president and the decider. And he had to get his callous and shallow pretense from somewhere ... probably mom ... and then there’s the stupid factor. So I suspect she has taken it upon herself to accept credit for all his successes. wink

And were it not for the fact that it is a slap in the face, and a disgusting and callous insult to deny our returning dead the respect of recognition when they are unloaded in their tin coffins, any comment at all about Barbara Bush would be a monumental waste of time. Because there really is nothing there worth commenting about.

And why I felt a need to get that off my chest just now, I don’t know. Probably the effect of reading the good Christians fighting with each other [and anyone else who dares express an opinion] for the last little while (Jesus: The Man, the Myth)

... sigh. So, having left that and them to do whatever they need to, to feel worthy, I can now get back to Christmas Dinner. Speaking of which. To you and all, Happy Holidays!

You all are indeed worthy smile

Best wishes for a happy Christmas, cyrena! So far, it seems to be a relatively quiet if not actually peaceful atmosphere. Perhaps its not so much where I am but that Christians can actually make a difference if they do get together to pray.

I’m told the churches are more full in some places this year than usual. That is a good thing. Pity though that they don’t put the same effort into each day and each week. They get spirituality fatigue so easily, uhh. That’s why Islam will continue to go forwards…...

As prayer is actually concentrated thought, it is also a form of energy which can permeate the environment and make subtle change for the better if done with a good motive and in the right way. That, of course, is the antithesis of war - yet it is the best way to help end wars!

I guess that, when you say “Afro-Caribbean”, you mean like African of some ethnic group who ended up there. I take it that you also prefer Native American to “Indian”, no doubt. But N.Africa and say, West Africa, must be as different as chalk and cheese, so to speak - like Lousiana and California.

I wonder what “equal status” really means these days, though? Its as unattainable for majority whites as any other group. Being the effective slaves now of those who “worship the god of money” is a position that most of us find ourselves in, uhh.

Its strange that African-Americans and Native Americans are repressed groups in a similar way as say, Native Australains are in their country. Even having “original” status doesn’t mean much in jaundiced view of the self-serving white “settler society” and ethnic Indians or Chinese fare better, at least these days.

But then, Chinese migrants were once as repressed in the past too, as were the Celtic Scots and Irish who were virtually once regarded as second-class citizens by the sneering English descendants. That was especially so even in the 1950’s if they also happened to be Catholic.

Instead of presumed progress, though, we have merely slid back into finding yet another ethnic minority and another country to to be bigoted about. Ironically, some of these places were the birthplaces of Western civilization - the “Caucasian” Caucasus region countries, “Mesopotamia”, etc.

Douglas,

You’re right about me still trying to run away, but believe me, that’s all very recent. (like since 2000).

I reality, I’ve never been to Africa,  aside for a really quick to the Northern portion of it, the last time I was in Europe. It’s beautiful, but I can’t really call it home, or make much of a claim to it at all. My ancestry is right here, the maternal side of my family is indigenous to this country, as in - Native American. So, they’ve just always been here. I guess the paternal side might be considered Afro-Caribbean, though that’s been difficult for me to trace back any further than 6 generations, and so..they’ve just always been here as well, though no doubt they didn’t start out with any ‘equal’ status. The history of the US makes it clear that they never intended the place to be anything other than a nation for whites only. It’s just that well…with the labor issue and all, (ie SLAVERY) required to kick start it, it was difficult to avoid having black folks around. (The Indians weren’t cooperative at all in this regard – guess they weren’t too pleased about being genocided and having all of their land taken right out from under them.) Ergo, better to kidnap and import blacks from Africa to do the work.

That’s certainly not to ‘deny’ my African ancestry, but most African-Americans have little knowledge of Africa, so I don’t know that they’re necessarily trying to ‘get back there’. Like I said, I very much enjoyed my short visit to Morocco and Algeria, but other than that, I’m a real foreigner to the continent, aside from what I’ve studied.

Meantime, no wealthy lifestyles here either Douglas. I’ve been just as victimized as all the other used-to-be middle class peasants, and I don’t ‘practice’ law. My field now is Law & Society, so that’s not the standard barrister type thing that I believe you’re pinning me with. I only returned to academia 6 years ago, and that’s where it’s taken me. The legal system in this country needs a major overall, but it doesn’t require a tear-down, but rather a return to the rule of law, not to mention renewed commitment to our obligations to international law.

So, that’s my only god. Just a belief in humanity, and the certainty that the rule of law does actually benefit humanity, over all.

It would appear that the ‘others’ worship the god of money, which of course is why it now appears to have let them down.

Oh, really, cyrena. Trying to run away again, huh? Last week it was Australia, this week Venezeula - which little illusory ‘utopia’ is next? Just admit that you haven’t a chance. Even voting for BO will make little difference once the recession becomes self-evident.

One thing that is so disappointing is that so many black Americans find that life isn’t quite the way they would like it to be if they ‘return’ to Africa. Partly, the reason is because they have not swept their own doorsteps at ‘home’ in the USA first.

Does that sound a little severe? Well, which ‘god’ will you turn to, then? The one with the gavel? All you legalists had better get down on yo’ knees because that is where those judicial wunderkind really want you. You must know that…..

Talking about passports reminds me of a judge (no names) I once saw at Heathrow airport, London. He was waving his diplomatic passport and shouting at airline staff about “I’m a first-class passenger”, uhh. Do you want me to interpret the implications….???

The law societies and the separation of powers of the state has/have it all worked out - for themselves. They don’t give a damn about the rest. They don’t want anything to ever change in their fiefdom except that it give more power to them.

Instead, they had you-know-who as AG. This, then,  is proof that you have not been standing up for the god you should believe in. Whining will only get you more slavery. Freedom is something which requires effort.

You/we have not put enough effort collectively into ensuring or protecting our personal freedoms. That is our own very obvious fault, not some god’s. Well you might ask some god to help you, though, as a little enlightenment based on accepting the unpleasant Truth about a cosy lifestyle would not go astray.

Jbart,

Thanks for posting the Hapers link. (I think);) I’d actually read of the latest GAO report that wasn’t allowed to surface, but it was like a paper cut compared to the stark reality of the figures.

$32 TRILLION, and that doesn’t even speak to all of our dead and permanently wounded, here and around the world. All a result of the drunken cokehead’s joy ride.

How does even the most flexible mind, wrap around that?

Louise mentioned all of the retuning dead that we’re not allowed to see. (Barbara Bush had demanded it be kept secret and under wraps, like absolutely everything else these past 7 plus years). Barbara Bush has also accused her son of ‘ruining the family name’.

I don’t understand how it all happened. Well, intellectually, I understand. But, that’s no comfort. Where’s the ‘comfort’ in understanding that the majority of Americans have lost their fucking minds, and are no longer human?

Remember Ira Levin’s (sp?) Stepford Wives?

Well, we’re WAY beyond that. We’re beyond Dr. Frankenstein.

The latest? Dr NO, (AKA Ron Paul) doesn’t ‘accept’ evolution. Nope…it’s just a ‘theory’ he says. And, god’s theory is better.

So, my latest passport arrived a few days ago, but I wonder if I really needed it. I mean, all it does, (or used to do) is ‘guarantee’ re-entrance to the US, (home I called it, once upon a time). And of course it’s supposed to ‘guarantee safe passage’ to wherever one might travel. The ‘old’ wording paraphrased something like, ‘please extend all -courtesies/rights/whatever - to the bearer as a citizen of the USA.

Now, what do we think that must mean NOW? I think I should expect any reasonable person to slit my throat the moment they see that thing on my person.

So, if there really IS an ‘escape’ destination, I’m thinking it would be better to travel without it.

How could just these two people, Dick Bush, mange to do so much damage to an entire world?

I don’t have the answer, and neither does god. At the end of the day though, this article, along with the behavior of Congress and the entire population, proves that it wasn’t just these two people. The Harper’s article rightly points to the fact that a drunken coke head who has been a total failure all of his life, has destroyed the country.

But…who ALLOWED it? In a society where any insignificant anybody, can go out and blast away…in a mall, or any other public or private place, and simply wipe out lives, how is it that these people in DC, have been allowed to continue their destruction, with no interruption?

How did a single assassin take out MLK, and countless others, and NOBODY has stopped Dick Bush, even though it could have happened with a simple series of meetings, and the stoke of a pen, and the ceremonial bang of a gavel?

That it’s been allowed, is the testimony to how far we have sunk.

I don’t have the answers. I only know that this is proof there is no god. At least not the one they told us about in school or in the Bible. No ‘God’ would ever allow this.

So, why have I kept fooling myself with the logic of ‘there are more of US, than there are of ‘THEM’?
Obviously, that isn’t so. Maybe there are 300 million of US, and ‘they’ only represent 535 (congress) plus the rot at the top. But, it would appear that those numbers mean nothing.

Do you think Venezuela would ‘honor’ my passport?

Anywhere else you all can think of?

•  First off most American and the rest of the world do not believe the NIE report that Iran stopped its bomb program in 2003. So the world and will be forced to stop Iran and its bomb program.
——-
This is where you’re WRONG AGAIN DB. Because, MOST of America and THE REST OF THE WORLD, (excluding Israel) DON’T believe that Iran EVER HAD A WEAPONS PROGRAM TO BEGIN WITH! So, you’re still a moron.

And, that’s why THE REST of the WORLD, (who fortunately isn’t as stupid as you and your drunken psychotic hero) KNOWS better, and won’t be planning on STOPPING a non-existent bomb program. Now, I WOULD suggest that you listen to the interview here on TD, with Scott Ritter, who in fact is AMONG the most knowledgeable person at hand, on the issue of Iran, although certainly the IAEA has been saying the same for years as well.

So, for those of us who are NOT delusional, we clearly recognize the danger in the fact that Dick Bush IS delusional. (georgie is just bat shit crazy, and dickie is just plain evil).

So yes, UNLESS somebody can STOP these psychopaths, or REFUSE to follow their orders to blast away at Iran, it WILL happen!! It has been on Cheney’s agenda for at least TEN YEARS!!

It’s amazing that you would actually quote anything from Bill O’Reilly or Fox news. But, in respect to the ‘request’ of Israel to ‘fly across’ Iraq to bomb Iran, that is in fact partially corroborated by reliable media.

The part you obviously MISS, is that the BUSH ADMINISTRATION can’t ‘grant permission’ to ANY other nation, to ‘fly over’ Iraq, or any OTHER sovereign nation. Unfortunately for you and them, the US doesn’t OWN Iraq, even though there’s no doubt that they THINK they do, because they’ve invaded and occupied it, and taken it as their own.

Meantime, Israel wasn’t ‘asking permission’ to fly over Iraq to bomb Iran, they were following Cheney’s orders, to do EXACTLY THAT!! Cheney had made arrangements for Israel to bomb Iran long ago. That was delayed when Israel decided to bomb Lebanon in the summer of 2006 instead. So, it put them behind schedule.

But, if you’re stupid enough to listen to Faux News and Bill O’Reilly, then it’s obvious that you’ll believe anything.

DB. Check yourself into a facility while there’s still time. You’re a danger to yourself and the rest of society, just because you’re so damn STUPID!!

So no I don’t think the USA will hit Iran, However I don’t think Bush will try to stop Israel from doing it. Several months back Fox News Bill O’Reily reported that Israel has asked for permission to fly across Iraq if an attack on Iran was needed. The Bush admin. granted Israel request.
Now the only question is who will attack Iran the USA or Israel.

MOST Americans KNOW the war is LOST already! What we have now is simply blind ass stupid human sacrifice! [For money and ego, money and ego, money and ego ...]

In fact, if there is any perception whatsoever things are getting better in Iraq, it’s only because main-stream-media, having also sold their respective souls to the devil, choose to stop talking about the war! And of course have no intention, like that COWARD Bush, of ever letting us see the returning dead!

BIG LIE! The big lie Bush made up the last time Bush had a temper tantrum [VETO] when he didn’t get his own way. [Or was it the time before ... or the time before? The War Prayer
by Mark Twain (Continued)
The stranger touched his arm, motioned him to step aside – which the startled minister did – and took his place. During some moments he surveyed the spellbound audience with solemn eyes in which burned an uncanny light; then in a deep voice he said

“I come from the Throne – bearing a message from Almighty God!” The words smote the house with a shock; if the stranger perceived it he gave no attention. “He has heard the prayer of His servant your shepherd and grant it if such shall be your desire after I, His messenger, shall have explained to you its import – that is to say, its full import. For it is like unto many of the prayers of men, in that it asks for more than he who utters it is aware of – except he pause and think.

“God’s servant and yours has prayed his prayer. Has he paused and taken thought? Is it one prayer? No, it is two – one uttered, the other not. Both have reached the ear of His Who hearth all supplications, the spoken and the unspoken. Ponder this – keep it in mind. If you beseech a blessing upon yourself, beware! lest without intent you invoke a curse upon a neighbor at the same time. If you pray for the blessing of rain upon your crop which needs it, by that act you are possibly praying for a curse upon some neighbor’s crop which may not need rain and can be injured by it.

“You have heard your servant’s prayer – the uttered part of it. I am commissioned by God to put into words the other part of it – that part which the pastor, and also you in your hearts, fervently prayed silently. And ignorantly and unthinkingly? God grant that it was so! You heard these words: ‘Grant us the victory, O Lord our God!’ That is sufficient. The whole of the uttered prayer is compact into those pregnant words. Elaborations were not necessary. When you have prayed for victory you have prayed for many unmentioned results which follow victory – must follow it, cannot help but follow it. Upon the listening spirit of God the Father fell also the unspoken part of the prayer. He commandeth me to put it into words. Listen!

“O Lord our Father, our young patriots, idols of our hearts, go forth to battle – be Thou near them! With them, in spirit, we also go forth from the sweet peace of our beloved firesides to smite the foe. O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with their little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it – for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

(After a pause)

“Ye have prayed it; if ye still desire it, speak! The messenger of the Most High waits.”

It was believed afterward that the man was a lunatic, because there was no sense in what he said.

The War Prayer
by Mark Twain
It was a time of great and exalting excitement. The country was up in arms, the war was on, in every breast burned the holy fire of patriotism; the drums were beating, the bands playing, the toy pistols popping, the bunched firecrackers hissing and sputtering; on every hand and far down the receding and fading spreads of roofs and balconies a fluttering wilderness of flags flashed in the sun; daily the young volunteers marched down the wide avenue gay and fine in their new uniforms, the proud fathers and mothers and sisters and sweethearts cheering them with voices choked with happy emotion as they swung by; nightly the packed mass meetings listened, panting, to patriot oratory which stirred the deepest deeps of their hearts and which they interrupted at briefest intervals with cyclones of applause, the tears running down their cheeks the while; in the churches the pastors preached devotion to flag and country and invoked the God of Battles, beseeching His aid in our good cause in outpouring of fervid eloquence which moved every listener.

It was indeed a glad and gracious time, and the half dozen rash spirits that ventured to disapprove of the war and cast a doubt upon its righteousness straightway got such a stern and angry warning that for their personal safety’s sake they quickly shrank out of sight and offended no more in that way.

Sunday morning came – next day the battalions would leave for the front; the church was filled; the volunteers were there, their faces alight with material dreams – visions of a stern advance, the gathering momentum, the rushing charge, the flashing sabers, the flight of the foe, the tumult, the enveloping smoke, the fierce pursuit, the surrender! – then home from the war, bronzed heros, welcomed, adored, submerged in golden seas of glory! With the volunteers sat their dear ones, proud, happy, and envied by the neighbors and friends who had no sons and brothers to send forth to the field of honor, there to win for the flag or, failing, die the noblest of noble deaths. The service proceeded; a war chapter from the Old Testament was read; the first prayer was said; it was followed by an organ burst that shook the building, and with one impulse the house rose, with glowing eyes and beating hearts, and poured out that tremendous invocation – “God the all-terrible! Thou who ordainest, Thunder thy clarion and lightning thy sword!”

Then came the “long” prayer. None could remember the like of it for passionate pleading and moving and beautiful language. The burden of its supplication was that an ever-merciful and benignant Father of us all would watch over our noble young soldiers and aid, comfort, and encourage them in their patriotic work; bless them, shield them in His mighty hand, make them strong and confident, invincible in the bloody onset; help them to crush the foe, grant to them and to their flag and country imperishable honor and glory.

An aged stranger entered and moved with slow and noiseless step up the main aisle, his eyes fixed upon the minister, his long body clothed in a robe that reached to his feet, his head bare, his white hair descending in a frothy cataract to his shoulders, his seamy face unnaturally pale, pale even to ghastliness. With all eyes following him and wondering, he made his silent way; without pausing, he ascended to the preacher’s side and stood there, waiting.

With shut lids the preacher, unconscious of his presence, continued his moving prayer, and at last finished it with the words, uttered in fervent appeal,” Bless our arms, grant us the victory, O Lord our God, Father and Protector of our land and flag!”

Francesca,

•  I mean - couldn’t the Dubya Coalition go into Iran with that money?

I wish I COULD say that you were wrong, but you’re not. Yes, the Thugs could use the money on blasting Iran, and probably will. Not that they absolutely needed it, because they would have found a way to do it anyway. The threat for the money immediately, was that they would run out, and have to start laying off people at the Pentagon.

So what, and who cares?

On this:

•  would it surprise anyone if something “accidentally” happened to get the U.S. into a major war with Iran AND Putin?

Nope, this wouldn’t surprise us, (at least not me). BUT, keep in mind that they don’t really NEED that at this point. (like 9/11). Doesn’t mean they wouldn’t do something else awful to us here at home, or to some other ME nation.

But unfortunately, they could conceivably attack Iran without even going back to Congress for approval, based on the original authorization that allowed the action against Iraq. It included language that would allow aggression against any of the ‘terrorists’ involved in 9/11, as well as any ‘action’ by any other ‘terrorists’ against our armed forces in the ME or anywhere else.

Since they’ve since defined Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a ‘terrorist’ organization, and since the thugs have been whining and making up stories about Iran ‘meddling’ in Iraq, (like they haven’t lived there side by side for 1000 years, which would be like somebody from Arizona or Oregon ‘meddling’ with us in California) and allegedly ‘harming’ our troops, (it’s a war zone, and WE’RE 6,000 miles away from home) then any old excuse would do for the Thugs.

In short, they just create the circumstances as they go along, (like 9/11 which was far better planning) and they don’t sweat the small stuff.

I think it WOULD be marginally surprising for the thugs to hit Putin and Russia as well, if only because they’re in more of a position to fight back. Then again, reason like that never interfered with anything, and Russia is not the powerful countering force that they were back in the days of the Cold War.

So yep, they’d do it in a heartbeat. It’s the absolute only power left to the US and this regime, nuclear weapons power. It’s the main export, and the main source of the neocons economy. There’s no real money left, and we’re in debt to everybody for at least the next Century. (Blue Eagle and Ron Paul are still busily counting those billions, and the $70 is just more into the very black hole that we’ve been in for ages, and hardly attributable to any sort of ‘welfare’ unless we’re talking about the corporate welfare to the military industrial complex for the one and only export and manufactured item here…WEAPONS; small, large, in-between)

No doubt the Cabal is quite willing and looking forward to going out in a blaze of the ultimate fanfare. That’s how psychotic they are.

Mr. Reid’s vote on big Pharm said it all.  He is in bed with the Republicans and lobbiests.  We need to write our reps and insist they throw both Reid and Pelosi out of their high positions and replace them with responsible citizens who vote along constituent lines, not lobbiest and republican venues.  Out with Reid.  In with Mr. Dodd who has courage.  Out with Pelosi./

Can the admin use that money for whatever they want once the check is signed?  I mean - couldn’t the Dubya Coalition go into Iran with that money?  Not sure how that really works, but . . . that component of the government is so thirsty for the blood of Iran . . . would it surprise anyone if something “accidentally” happened to get the U.S. into a major war with Iran AND Putin?  Yikes.  Tell me I’m wrong here . . . somebody, please?

I liked Ron Paul’s statement that the Rep and Dem get along quite well. The Reps get their war funding and the Dems get their welfare money. We just spend our way into a black hole.

RE: Quixotic statement.

Well said, and you provide good examples as to why we are in the dire situation we find ourselves in today.  I think these are many of the reasons
why RON PAUL has amassed such a great following.  People know we are at a crossing and it seems our elected officials have decided to go down the wrong
road hand in hand with Satan.  We as American citizens want change and yearn for it, but our democracy has become so corrupted by BIG business
and the powerful elite, there are really only a few people running for the next presidency that people truly still believe in.  I for one don’t believe
a damn word that comes out of 98% of these presidential candidates.  I believe that Ron Paul is our last hope at a democracy, because if we continue
down this same path for another 4-8 years, we will be unable to reverse our course.  It’s like a rabid dog; once they’ve tasted blood there is no
turning back.  Bush and this administration obviously like the taste of blood and they don’t want to turn back.

What I can’t wait to see is how they eliminate RON PAUL from the GOP nomination; because you damn well know that the powers that be will never let
someone with morals and ethics, and especially a person who wants to abide by the Constiution into the most powerful position in he land.  Since he
has accrued the most money for his run at the presidency, the MSM simply cannot just ignore him anymore.  If they do, it really isn’t going to matter
because the word is spreading and the people want a change, and feel misguided and lied to by almost all the political leaders running for the
presidency.  Anybody have any ideas they wish to express, as to how the power elite will keep Paul out of the oval office?

This is a critical time for the Democrats in my opinion…very critical!!  Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have got to go!!...and I mean NOW!...

If Democrats continue with these two charlatans in Leadership Positions, the chances are increasing even more than what they already are that voters will view Dems as weak leaders on just about anything and everything! And of course this translates into fewer pickups in both Houses - if not losses…

It’s to dump these two NOW!!...Chris Dodd would be GREAT leader in the Senate!!...and Dennis Kucinish in the House!!

I’ve got a suggestion, that I would hope more would follow. I am as guilty as anyone at spending too much time , blogging my weighty opinion of how destructive this administration is. But some time ago I decided that instead of spending as much energy in the blog-o-sphere, venting into all the tubes and switches Senator Stevens described the internet as. I’ve decided to instead spend that time writing, calling & emailing our so-called elected representitives to voice my opinion on the daily unravelling of our democracy by the traitors to our country who currently are running one conspiracy after another out of the White House. I’d like to suggest that more consider doing the same. We can make a bigger dent in the march to the corporate police state we are becoming then just whining on the net if we can flood our representitives to the point that it bcomes obvious, even to them, that their so very important political aspirations are in the hands of the people they were elected to represent.

While you give yourself a public han djob impeaching Bud Selig, be sure to impeach Reid and Pelosi, too. They might as well be Republikanzis.

There was never any doubt that Congress would provide the Military Complex with every penny the wish for.  The delay was posturing and illusion.

If we had a two party system and one side was committed to ending the war, they should have stuck to the war spending bill they passed that had timelines and funded only 9 more months.  If Bush vetoed it then he would have been the one to end the war.

But it was all a sham for our benefit.

Did it work?  Does anyone think we have a two party system that cares one iota about what American Citizens want them to do?  Does anyone think that this country is run by anone besides the Carlisle Group and Aramco?

War IS the American religion:-
The original inhabitants had their wars and human sacrifices.
The Spanish invaders had their “conquistadores”.
The English had their internicine blood-lust which they practiced on each other.
The Scots and the Irish did to the natives what the English did to them.
There were the slavery states.
Then there was the civil war…..
Then the Spanish-American “war”, an invasion, uhh….
And the “opium wars”, gunboat diplomacy.

Arriving in the 20th century, war IS a way of life:-
The first world war.
The second world war.
The Korean war, (the American war) another invasion.
The Vietnam war, (the American war) again another invasion.
Some other ‘minor’ tragedies of puppet states….
The first Gulf war (the American war) .....

Arriving in the 21st century, war IS a way of supporting the economy:-
The Afghanistan ‘war’  (the American war)  .....
The “war on terror”.....
The GWB Neocon “crusades”......
The Iraqi Freedom bullshit war - (the American war) another invasion!
The US president Bush’s threats of starting WW3!!!
Next, the never-ending war, the holy war, the war we had to have…....

IN OUR NAME now
We voted the Dems into congress and the senate and they were going to take control of congress and really show Bush, fight him on this war and bring the troops home…well when Bush wants to I mean you have to support the troops right? Keeping troops in the middle of a civil war is supporting them without the right armored vehicles after 5 years! This is a sad day for America we have truly lost, not the war but our soul as a nation.

We torture
We war profiteer
We invade under false premises
We destroy the oldest culture in the world
We cover up mercenaries who kill civilians
We cover up domestic spying
We look the other way when habeas corpus is removed from the constitution
We want to grant immunity to the very companies that were supposed to protect their customers and instead spied on us
We ignore outing a spy working WMD tracking in Iran and Iraq because of political pay back
We plan a nuclear attack on Iran and stop only because the intelligence community revolts
We watch as Wall Street gets free money from the FED while we loose our houses
We watch as voting machines are rigged
We submit to giving up freedoms to duct tape our houses because of some vague threat, again
We watch as a city is destroyed by a hurricane and our government does nothing
We pull out of the ABM treaty so we can give the defense community more money to stop missiles in Europe
We sell bonds to China to prop up our deficit
We go from a surplus to a 50 Trillion liability
We stop global warming treaties because Wall Street may loose money
We sign treaties that allow our jobs to go over seas
We allow insurance companies to make Billions while people die in hospital waiting rooms

GOOD JOB DEMs and thank You GOP America is better off due to your hard work making the rich richer and the poor poorer, less safe, and deeper in debt and on the verge of a depression
