Dana Perino
cnn.com

Turns out that the current White House press secretary, Dana Perino (pictured), has broached the uncomfortable topic (considering her position) of Scott McClellan’s upcoming book.  Unsurprisingly, Perino reported in an off-camera moment during Monday’s White House press briefing that Bush never knowingly misinformed McClellan.

MSNBC’s First Read via The Huffington Post:

Today at the off-camera briefing, White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said she has discussed Scott McClellan’s forthcoming book with the president, and Perino said President Bush “has not and would not knowingly pass false information.”

In the yet-to-be-published book, McClellan’s publisher says the former press secretary claims five White House officials—including the president and vice president—were responsible for McClellan passing incorrect information on the CIA leak case. As White House press secretary, McClellan had stated that officials including Karl Rove were not involved in leaking the identity of CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson.

well right now she says he says he DIDN’T LIE . lets wait till her contract is over and lets see what has she got to say then.
to me, right now she is just another official who is just doling out whatever they think is necessary to be doled out to get the things done the way they want it done, seen many like her before who had the same job as her and frankly doesnt really take an honest person to get this specific job, does it? I mean the job requirement doesnt exactly say “Honesty required”

I’m happy to see four comments in a row that reflect reality without the “A-team” swarming on the scene to counter it with canned government apologies that don’t reflect reality anywhere on earth.

Folks, lets not miss the real story here ...

Bush never knowingly informs, or misinformes anyone!
That’s part of his charm! wink

[And vital to his overall value to the, uh ... whoever’s in charge]

Dana Perino knows that George W. Bush didn’t lie because he told her that.

Is this really News ? So what, the white house trots out another Bushie Bimbo and were supposed to think she has more credibility then the other liars that speak for the “Liar-in-Chief” ? What else could she possibly say and keep her job ? How long would any of the people who work for this administration keep their jobs if they suddenly mysteriously acquired the scruples to tell the truth ? Its like the other news headline today, that cheney has more heart flutter problems...they keep trying to convince us he has a heart. It’s as ridiculous a proposition as thinking bush has a brain.

Uh, yeah.  Iraq had WMDs; Iran is a threat; torture works (but we don’t do it); global warming isn’t happening; civil liberties are being protected; and George Bush isn’t an idiot, either.  When are the Dems going to grow some cajones and impeach the whole lot of them?  Oh that’s right they’re Dems, they can’t be mean to anyone…

Pres Bush knew exactly what was going on.This was wonderfully orchestrated. They knew somebbody had to take the fall and it was Libby. You could tell by his defense that the deal was in the bag.He never testified. He never called Vice Pres Cheney or any other high ranking official in the White House and Prosector Fitzgerald was more than willing to go along with the charade. For Pres Bush he either knew what was going on or he is dumber than even I think he is which would make him sub human.Of course Pres Bush would never lie to Dana Perino.I guess we will find out when her book comes out.
