Bush Loyalist Leaves Post Amid Staff Turmoil

Rachel K. Paulose, the youngest U.S. attorney, who came to symbolize the administration’s preference for political loyalty over ability, has been recalled to Washington from her post in Minnesota, where her office reportedly is in turmoil. She once claimed she was politically persecuted because she was a conservative and a Christian.

Whatever their reasons, it’s clear members of Paulose’s staff did not like her. During her tenure, at least four senior lawyers took voluntary demotions in protest.

New York Times:

In an unusual public statement on a conservative blog last week, Ms. Paulose suggested that she was a victim of “McCarthyite hysteria that permits the anonymous smearing of any public servant who is now, or ever may have been, a member of the Federalist Society, a person or faith and/or a conservative (especially a young, conservative woman of color).”

Ms. Paulose, a Christian who was born in India and is the youngest United States attorney in the country, is a former member of the Federalist Society, a conservative lawyers’ group whose members have assumed many high-ranking posts in the Bush administration.

Has any “Bush Loyalist” not left an agency/department that wasn’t in turmoil?

Really liked the quote on the gal from DHS who is quitting to make the big bucks in the private sector: “We haven’t failed to capture bin Laden, we just haven’t succeeded”. Be interesting to see what company thinks that is a good reason to hire her.
She also went on to claim that Bolten never said that folks should leave now or stay to the end. She thinks the media made that up.

Isn’t she the same bimbo who had the statue that represents that justice is blind, covered up as the partial nudity of it went against her religious training?

“Think how incompetent she must be to be recalled in this administration.”

Thank you thomas billis, that one gave me a good laugh.....

Membership in the Federalist Society would not be just reason to force the resignation of a US Attorney.  But failure to indict Democrats would be a serious performance shortcoming.  Since the change in command, following the Gonzáles resignation, has put this agenda in temporary limbo, and the career time clock keeps ticking, an aspiring, capable conservative has to assess prioritie$ and move ahead.  She can chose among plenty of lucrative top partner posts among sundry law firms, many offering hefty sign-ons.  But, of course, she must wisely attribute the decision to some sort of athiestic, liberal conspiracy. not mere ambition.

Good news is Paulose is out of Minnesota.
Bad news, maybe, is she’s going to Wash., DC.
I don’t take this as any reason to let up on Mukasey.

Back when Rove resigned, wasn’t it stated that the time had come for administration employees to “quit now or commit for the duration”? Isn’t that supposedly part of why Rove chose that time to go?
How many more have now quit since then?

She leaves out the real reason she was recalled she is freaking incompetent.Think how incompetent she must be to be recalled in this administration. An Administration that has 150 graduates of Pat Robertson’s law school diploma mill in high Justice Department jobs.Unbelievable.If this is Mukasey’s doing I am starting to gain some respect for him.Now if he can only figure out what torture is.

When I first noticed the header/title of this on my reader, I just assumed this was in reference to a far ‘bigger’ bushie than Rachel Palouse, since Frances Townsend also resigned today. (the homeland security woman).

But, she actually resigned, whereas as Rachel was forced out. Or, as the article says, ‘recalled’ to Washington. (Anybody else would have been fired…like all of those other attorneys who are now suing Gonzo)

So, they’re still dropping like flies. I just don’t know what’s taken so long. Imagine all of the damage that could have been avoided if Rachel has been ‘recalled’ long ago. Now, in Frances’ case, it may just be more of that same that we’ve seen for at least a year now…abandoning a sinking ship…

Well, actually an already sunken ship, with nothing for the diving treasure seekers to bother with. All of the loot has already been raided…
