Rudy Giuliani’s factually challenged claims about how he probably would have fared in his battle against prostate cancer had he sought treatment in England instead of America might have raised only a small stir, but, for his part, columnist Paul Krugman thinks it should have been a much bigger deal.

The New York Times:

Yet what we actually have is the front-runner for the Republican nomination apparently basing his health-care views on something he read somewhere, which he believed without double-checking because it confirmed his prejudices.

By rights, then, Mr. Giuliani’s false claims about prostate cancer—which he has, by the way, continued to repeat, along with some fresh false claims about breast cancer—should be a major political scandal. As far as I can tell, however, they aren’t being treated that way.

To be fair, there has been some news coverage of the prostate affair. But it’s only a tiny fraction of the coverage received by Hillary’s laugh and John Edwards’s haircut.

Maybe we Brit’s should follow th US healthcare system and take the wallets pulse before the patients, and if it’s fading dump the patient on the Free if he/she is lucky, or on the street if they’re not.

This awful man must not be president.
Most Americans oppose the war and adventurism in general, favor doing something to get health coverage for all americans, and look for some practical and humane approach to immigration.

Still, in a democracy, Rudy may pull it off!
How do we stop him?

Maybe Rudy did recieve excellent care, unavailable to the average British citizen, but the important point is that that care is also unavailable to an increasing percentage of Americans.  The point still remains that we as American citizens pay far more in healthcare than people with national healthcare coverage and it’s highly questionable whether we’re getting much bang for our buck and there are still many who aren’t getting any healthcare at all!  These idiot politicians keep arguing that our system is better than England and better than Canada…on and on, what if it is?  There are still people who are priced out of the system all together.

Rudy Giuliani, Silvio Berlusconi, Rene Preval, Mobutu Sese Seko, Ehud Olmert . The faces of prostate cancer are the faces of all of us. Meanwhile, while we lose 500 men a week, efforts at prostate cancer prevention do not work.

Why shoot folks—Rudy is a good Amurican—a good Republican—that means he can hold on to all kinds of false beliefs, state them as fact and not have to answer for anything—-kind of like being a Christian means you are not perfect, just forgiven for your sins and “love means you never have to say you are sorry”

What is the big deal?A man running for Pres makes a bald faced lie about maybe the most importamnt issue in most people’s lives healthcare why would the mainstream media cover it.They have important things to cover.Does Britney wear underwear or not?How drunk can Lindsey Lohan get?Of course the major story of the young century Anna Nicole Smith dies of drug overdose. With breaking stories like these who has the time to cover someone making a false statement on healthcare.By the way media maybe you have heard about a leaked report from the 911 commission on what Rudy really knew and thought before and after 911.When you get time.
