Front-Line View: Iraq Isn’t ‘Worth Another Soldier’s Life’

Wait—is this what “democracy in Iraq” is supposed to look like?  These two girls, whose photo was taken on Sept. 27, are part of a group of displaced Shiite families taking refuge however they can in Baghdad’s Sadiyah district.

Here’s a good way we can all support our troops:  by listening to them when they tell us how the Iraq war is really going.  Take this account from Sgt. Victor Alarcon and others in his battalion, who in Saturday’s Washington Post give their frank, and stark, assessment of the situation in Baghdad’s Sadiyah district.

The Washington Post:

“What we later found out is they weren’t really moving anyone in, it was a cover for the INP to go in and evict what Sunni families were left there,” recalled Bifulco, 23, a West Point graduate from Huntsville, Ala. “We showed up, and there were a bunch of Sunni families just wandering around the streets with their bags, taking up refuge in a couple Sunni mosques in the area.”

As the militiamen and insurgents battled it out, the bodies mounted up. U.S. troops said that earlier this year it was common for them to find at least half a dozen corpses scattered on the pavement during their daily patrols.

Nearing 4000 troops dead now, not one of them should have died for draft evaders special interests, not one.  Last I heard it was 27,000 wounded U.S. troops, all for a war of lies.  Manipulation of the media has a lot to do with it.  The Iraq people killed and wounded, guess they count even less, thank you fearless leaders.

These are the guys that Rush Limbaugh said were phoney Soldiers. Remember! These are the kind of people who are running this war. It is all about greed and you can include the Congress in that.

ABOUT TIME!

It is time to listen to the soldiers in the field - not the generals or the politicians who visit the “Green Zone” and, if they leave, are accompanied by helicopters, snipers and humvees fore and aft. What do these creeps know about what the military faces every day?

How can anyone “kill or be killed” when he knows that it is a phony war - especially one that is trumped up by a kid who wants to upstage daddy?

If this why soldiers die or are wounded - or return home with post traumatic syndrome even if their limbs are intact?

Any what about their families?

It’s time to listen to the people in the field and their loved ones.

The problem here at home isn’t Americans not aware of what’s going on in Iraq, it’s the morons in charge who don’t give a damn, period.  No matter what we do, what we say, or how we feel, this guy is going to do whatever he wants.  Impeachment is the only sane answer.  Bring these kids home immediately.  We are not being heard by anyone in DC.........
