Giuliani

It’s not easy to win over an entire country—or at least a majority of its voters—without bruising some feelings. That’s particularly true in the early-primary states, where locals place high demands on presidential candidates, who, despite their best efforts, frequently step in it.

Here are a few recent examples, assembled by the Associated Press.

AP:

There are plenty more ‘don’ts’ on the list:

- Don’t schedule a trip without looking at a map, as aides to former Sen. John Edwards apparently did when they promoted a campaign swing through New Hampshire’s North Country, but included stops far from that region.

- Don’t forget where you are, as Giuliani apparently did when he referred to “the people here in Massachusetts” during a speech in New Hampshire. Not quite as bad, Obama repeatedly called New Hampshire’s Belknap County “Bell Camp” during an early trip.

- Don’t get the governor’s name wrong, as Thompson did with South Carolina’s Mark Sanford. (Thompson called him Sandford.)

That made me laugh!!  New Hampshire’s “north country” has a clear geography unlike many “north countries elsewhere. It starts on the Canadian side of Franconia Notch and Crawford notch. Lo9on Mountain Lodge, Plymouth College, and Dartmouth College

“Don’t forget where you are, as Giuliani apparently did when he referred to “the people here in Massachusetts” during a speech in New Hampshire.”

Depending on how widespread this information is, Giulini is DEAD in New Hampshire where citizens hate Massachusetts more than they hate taxes!

“Part of the problem is that everyone tries to be so disciplined, golly, you worry about the spontaneity,” said Kathy Sullivan, a former Democratic chairwoman in New Hampshire.”

Speaking of spontaneity ...

New Yorkers Boo Giuliani Twice at Yankee Game
http://www.alternet.org/blogs/peek/64915/

Jane Hamsher: “I was there and Giuliani was booed not once but twice, the second time during God Bless America, which he did not appear to know the words to.”
“It doesn’t look like his “Hero of 9/11” crap is selling too well to hard core New Yorkers, does it?”

OLBERMANN:  “It was not a debate.  It was not a poll.  It was not empirically measurable, but it may have been a milestone in the 2008 presidential campaign nonetheless.  Rudy Giuliani not just in New York City but in Yankee Stadium in New York City roundly booed.  Not just roundly booed, but roundly booed during the singing of “God Bless America”.

“First, they were not shouting Rudy.  They were booing.  It happened twice last night late during the New York Yankees‘ final playoff game of the 2007 season.  Giuliani, you will remember as these photos indicate, spent more time traveling to or watching Yankee games in the two months after 9/11 than he spent at Ground Zero two months after 9/11, was in attendance last night.  At mid game his image was plastered on to the video scream and usual applause and cheering was mixed with heavy booing.  I thought it was 50-50.  Others at the ballpark were not so charitable.”

“During the 7th inning stretch, as the tenor Ronan Tynan sang “God Bless America” was sang he was shown on the video screen and there was no mistaking what happened next.  He was briefly but lustily booed.  No cheers or applause at all.  Kind of uncouth, during “God Bless America,” but perhaps very telling.”

So add one more “don’t” to the list, especially where Rudy is concerned. Don’t show up in a crowd of natives from your home town who know you. REALLY know you!

Harder than keeping the seam in his stockings going straight up the back of his legs in a snug fitting miniskirt while strutting brazenly in 3-inch heels?

They’re all pretty scarey if you ask me.  I still want to know when the press is going to start drilling all these guys.  A lot more Americans are paying attention then ever before. This next election will make or break this country! I want to know if the next President is going to dig in and undo the evil done by this admin.  I want to know if the next President can present a plan for the future and follow it thru.  I want to know if the ne×t President is going to re-open the doors of government to the public and not so much secrecy.  I want to know if the next President has intellect, curiosity, and imagination. I want to know if the press is going to continue their mindless attacks that tell us nothing about the candidates…...

If this monster makes it in, he’ll send his gestapo thugs out on day one running after people to inject RFID chips into everyone’s brains. He is a Nazi.
