Craig Plans to Finish Senate Term

Comedians can now let out that sigh of relief: Disgraced Sen. Larry Craig isn’t going anywhere. While he says he won’t run again, Craig now plans to finish his term in the Senate.

AP via Yahoo:

“I have seen that it is possible for me to work here effectively,” Craig said in a written statement certain to disappoint fellow Republicans who have long urged him to step down.

Craig had earlier announced he would resign his seat by Sept. 30, but had wavered when he went to court in hopes of withdrawing his plea.

The third-term lawmaker issued his statement not long after Idaho Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter relayed word he has selected a replacement for Craig in the event of a resignation.

What can his constituants do? recall him?

Our president has done more get kicked out of ofice than Craig.

Once elected, with paperless electronic voting machines used in reelections, a bullet is the only way out of office.

Don’t you have to take your pants off in the handicap stall to be able to achieve a 6-foot wide stance without falling either forward into the door or backward into the toilet? Regular stalls aren’t wide enough to comfortably spread out to a 6-foot stance. Furthermore, Ringling Brothers, Barnum, and Bailey all define that stance as a split, especially in a regular width stall. So, what is this dude, an acrobatic contortionist? Double-jointed?

This idiot is about to be rewarded by the GOP for his stubborn tenacity with an invitation to go “quail hunting” with the Dick Vader Hunting Party. Craig’s not going away as fast as the GOP would like to see him go. Dick Vader’s got this business covered like a mug.

Well good for Craig!  This is the first courageous thing he has done during this whole affair.  You go, guy!  Make the Republicans squirm.  In fact, why don’t you announce that are going to run for re-election next year?  That would really make the homophobic Republicans reveal their biases.
Seriously, was what Craig did in Minneapolis really a crime?  If it was, then every straight male going up to a female in a bar tonight (it’s Friday, after all) should be arrested on the spot as well.  Secondly, maybe Craig will eventually come out of the closet and put his hypocritical fellow Republicans to shame.  Why isn’t the same venom directed at all the other Republicans who did actually commit crimes?

To Larry Craig: Wide stances are bad for your back. Next time visit the stalls where the holes are already cut out for you and it cost 25 cents to see the movie. You may see your friends Mark Foley and Reverend Haggerty
p.S when looking through the stall be careful not to get poked in the eye

So, Craig touched a policeman’s shoe in the toilet.  He put his hand under the divider.  President Bush lied, and then invaded a sovereign nation, contributing to the deaths of a million souls.  The entire Congress is involved in the theft of an entire nation.  President Bush authorized rendition and the torture of suspects.  Craig touched a man’s shoe and put his hand under the divider.  Now, tell me about it.

“Serve effectively”? That must be code for he has more public toilets to visit at taxpayer expense. Plus Shrub needs any vote he can swing to maintain his vetoes of sensible bills in favor of budget busting pay offs to his bud’s.

It was reported on one of the TV stations in this neck of the woods that Craig wanted to retain his seat. I have never heard of a person reserving a seat in the men’s room and getting away with it. Yes, I have heard of parking places, but never toilet bowl seats.

This is just more of personal and politcal sleaziness the democratic and republican politicians seem to have in abundance.
On the oustside chance that one of them may read this; honour is to display pride and pleasure from being shown respect for the way one performs their duty. Duty and honour don’t seem to be a priority in the House or the Senate thise days.

I was just thinking that Senator Craig may have been instructed by the higher-ups in the Republican party not to resign, in order to provide a diversion from the real questions, such as the war in Iraq, which should preoccupy the electorate.  This “Craig circus,” sure to occupy the interest of the media until the elections, should offer some welcome cover and respite to the Republican candidates.

Time for a recall election.
