Steve Jobs

Yes, you, and your little iPhone, too:  Apple honcho Steve Jobs admires his company’s handiwork, the source of plaintiff Dongmei Li’s current discontent.

All those eager Apple aficionados who waited in line for days to get their grabby hands on the first crop of iPhones for $599 a pop, only to watch in despair as stragglers bought them but two months later for a whopping $200 less, may sympathize with an angry New York woman who clearly will not be placated by Steve Jobs’ scrambly attempt at refunding his way back into customers’ hearts.

AP via Huffington Post:

According to Li’s lawsuit, filed on Sept. 24 in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York, the price reduction injured early purchasers like herself because they cannot resell the product for the same profit as those who bought the cell phone following the price cut.

Li purchased a 4GB iPhone for $499 and alleged that owners of the 4GB model were given less favorable terms than those who bought the 8GB model at the premium price, according to the lawsuit.

well,

If it wasnt for the Apple zombies out there that support everthing apple does and puts out, we might actually get to the bottom line of this suit and its merit.
No decision by a big company is spurt of the moment.  Apple must have known exactly when the price drop was going to happen, but chose not to disclose that information, even though it was less than 2 MONTHS before its debut.  That is a very short time for price drop, even in the tech industry.  Iphones were selling, the stock was rising.  No market/economic event triggered this drop in price.  Consumers two weeks prior to the price drop got all their money back.  Why?  Why not all consumers?  It’s only 6 more weeks.  They are selling the iphone for LESS than it costs to make!  That is antitrust violation!  Forcing people into one carrier has been done before, i understand that, but its practices on the terms are still shaky at best.  Also, not disclosing that the battery was a old version ipod battery, and that it was welded to the phone was disclosed only after it went on sell.
I expected the iphone to drop in price towards the holidays, but if septmeber 5th is anywhere near the holidays, i must have the wrong calendar!  The drop in price devaluated the property value unfairly, and apple must pay.  All i expect is my $200.  I dont want $1 million.  JUST WHAT’S FAIR.

WAH! I just HAD to have it when it came out! WAH! I want a refund ‘cuz I couldn’t wait a few weeks! WAH! It’s not like it’s food or clothing, people. It’s a luxury item, and Apple’s got the right to charge whatever they want for it.  Why’d they charge 6C’s for that bit o’ plastic? CUZ THEY KNEW PEOPLE WOULD PAY FOR IT! And ONE MILLION in DAMAGES?! Grow up, inform yourself as a consumer, and be happy with a refunded difference. It’s the one million ind damages that bites MY arse!

several years ago a friend had to have a plasma tv. he paid over $12000 for a 42incher. it suffered from burn in after less than two years. the replacement he was given cost less than $4000.he felt he should have been given the difference in cash. he was laughed out of the store. the moral here is simple. gullible fools who must have the newest, trendiest consumer crap deserve to pay through the ass.

This person should be sued by the state - for wasting resources and time on their frivolous lawsuit.

Anyone who purchases the latest, pays the price, be computers, phones, clothes, etc.

You wanted the cache - the first in your block - all eyes on you when your phone rang - you got it, now pay the price and shut up.
