Arnold at the UN

Celebrity Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and environmental superstar Al Gore stole the show at Monday’s U.N. climate crisis speechathon, offsetting President Bush’s notable absence. Schwarzenegger rallied the crowd with his unique Hollywood-infused rhetorical flair: “One responsibility we all have is action. Action, action, action.”

AP via Wired:

UNITED NATIONS—“Arnie” and “Al,” Republican and Democrat, shared the world spotlight to press for climate action, adding a touch of star quality to the staid proceedings of a U.N. summit.

The two headliners, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and former Vice President Al Gore, also highlighted by their presence President Bush’s absence from the eight hours of high-level speechmaking Monday on what to do about global warming.

Bush, who did take part later in a small, private U.N. dinner with key players on climate, rejects the idea of international treaty obligations to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other “greenhouse gases” blamed for global warming - an idea central to U.N. climate negotiations.

Arnies green credentials are pretty poor, but at least both him and Al Gore are speaking out about the important issues of global warming. The green movement needs more political heavyweights to further it’s cause and some times you just have to work with the devil you know rather than the devil you dont.

This from the same guy who owns seven Hummer SUV automobiles!

That’s all we need is a terminator driving our environmental policy!

Please recall Arnies arm around the Bushmonkey during the elections!

He is another brainless nazi and we shouldn’t fall for his latest act.  He was a disaster in my California as governor.

Beware!

As a descriptive term for the conference, Speechathon seems alien to the terse utterances of Schwarzenegger.  My prejudices against a steroidal action movie star makes me less receptive to his plugs for global warming policy, but we need to take support from any quarter that gives it, even from the malapropped-prone Bush. Of course, that would never happen.

As a native Californian i reject “Arnie”... anyone who has doubts needs to watch his speech at the RNC. Do not be fooled by all he appears to be doing for the better good right now, better to look back at where he was when he took office and the issues, behavior, and history that illustrated who he really is.

If you think that the constitution is in trouble now, just wait til he’s “placed” in a higher office. The facts are there plain as day, his personal history, rhetoric, hidden agenda are all there to be researched and understood for those Americans left who haven’t been sedated or are simply too lazy to bother.

He is a very clever character playing a very obvious but clever game for alotta people who can’t get over how they felt when they watch Twins or Terminator the first time, and he has a very clear pattern of saying and doing whatever he needs to, to gain political & public favor. From immigration to gay rights to the environment he has simply followed the compass, he is not authentic, he is a used car salesman.

I have as well lived and worked between the states and Europe (Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italia, France, Hungary) for 14years now and can very confidentally say that they know well who “Arnie” really is, and if we as Americans think we are disliked and most importantly…disrespected around the world now, you can’t even begin to imagine how much lower we’ll be if “Arnie” gets a shot at higher office.

We Americans have been battered into submission by an irresponsible mainstream media and government. The last thing we need is another Reagen, but we so easily forget anymore anything beyond the last week. We are so exhausted and demoralized from so many years of abuse that we take the easy road and “choose” to look only forward in the name of optimisim.

Well history repeats itself my friends, its been repeating for some time now, and we stand by and watch it. Learn your history, understand our history, understand even the last 60years of world history please.
And keep “Arnie” in his box….or the last thing you’ll have to worry about is his position on the environment.

Wake up America!
