Giuliani Has Fun With NumbersPosted on Sep 25, 2007
Lest anyone forget that Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani was the mayor of New York on Sept. 11, 2001 (it’s true, we looked it up), a buddy of his is throwing a fundraiser that will charge—wait for it—$9.11 per person.

Everybody should donate$9.10 to their favorite democrat candidate. On that day he would not have been elected dogcatcher in New York. One thing from that day I have never understood is just because our President Cowardly was hiding in a bunker and some middle aged bald man was running up and down Manhattan streets because he had put the command center in The World Trade Center instead of underground in Brooklyn where the experts thought it should be that is somewhat heroic.Making your own hectic situation instead of being solidly in command makes you a hero. The firefighters of New York who I would think are truly heroes are having nothing to do with the spin put on Rudi for 911.The question is who you gonna beleive true heroes or someone running for President. One thing more.As Tip O’Neil said all politics are local.Until Rudi is through milking 911 for all he can get we are making sure no international leaders can milk it.

....The second crucial, but little-known example of Shultz’s importance is his role in putting together the team behind the Presidency of George W. Bush. According to author James Mann, who wrote the Rise of the Vulcans book about Bush’s inner Cabinet, Shultz initiated a discussion with George W. in the Spring of 1998, whereby the future President sat down in Shultz’s living room on the Stanford University campus, in order to be vetted (in effect) to run for President. At that meeting were Martin Anderson, the former advisor to both Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan; Abraham Sofaer, a former Shultz aide; John Cogan and John Taylor, two economics professors; and Stanford’s provost, and Shultz protégé, Condoleezza Rice. After the “scholars” associated with the Hoover Institution indicated that they thought Bush would make a good Presidential choice, Bush invited Shultz, Rice, and Anderson down to Austin, Texas for a follow-up meeting in the Summer. Out of that meeting, which was joined by Dick Cheney and Paul Wolfowitz, came the public decision for Bush to run for President.
By early 1999, Rice pulled together a broader group

I wouldn’t pay 11 cents. We already have a lightweight Texan who is bankrupting our country. And some want to raise money for an empty suit from NY.

Apparently there is no limit he will go to in a desperate attempt to foster some herioc role he plays from that day. I’m sure it was a type-o though this time. Undoubtedly the price was meant to be $911.
