When Judy called Rudy: Giuliani takes a call from wife Judith as he meets with the powerful gun lobby in Washington on Friday.

Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani was busy sweet-talking a group of National Rifle Association members in Washington, D.C., on Friday when he received a call from a very special lady.

New York Daily News:

He answered the call, explaining that it probably was his wife.

It was.

“Hello, dear,” the former mayor said. “I’m talking to the members of the NRA right now. Would you like to say hello?”

She apparently declined, because he kept the call short.

“Talk to you later, dear. I love you,” Giuliani said, ending the call as the laughing audience applauded.

Front page news. A phone call from
his family.

What’s important, a phone call from
his wife or what he plans to do or not
do about gun control?

Press: stop covering what’s not
important.

R.M.:

With all due respect, if you look at history, you’ll see that selective-fire assault rifles in the hands of State militaries have killed more people than semi-auto “assault weapons” in the hands of deranged individuals. In other words, States are bigger and “better” mass murderers than any deranged armed civilian will ever be. Some might even argue that mass killing is all that States are really competent at.

To me, what’s needed is “STATE control”, not “gun control”.

Could Columbine or Virginia Tech have happened if the maniacs had been using flintlocks?  That’s what the second ammendment really said we had the right to own.  AK47s, Kalishnikovs with 30 round clips, and automatic handguns weren’t in existence at the time.

Maybe we should consider being proactive and modify the 2nd ammendment to prohibit plasma rifles, particle beam weapons, phasers and BFG’s (Big F--king Guns) before they are invented and before the NRA says we have the right to own them.

I quit the NRA a long time ago when it became clear to me that all they were was a fund-raising machine for the GOP. Why they never invited Ron Paul is beyond me---he’s the only Republican (or nominal Republican) running for president who’s always stood four-square for the 2nd Amendment.

Disgusting.

He’s a RePUKElican, and they all make me sick! Okay, not fair, Chuck Hagel and a few others are excellent, it’s just there are so few in the Republican Party with an ounch of anything other than greed in their bodies. One watch dog group which ferrets out corruption in our Congress just released their up-to-date list of the most corrupted politicians.  There were 22 on the list and 18 of them were Republicans.

Why does anyone support this man?
He’s promised endless war, is personally creepier than Bush, and will say or do anything to get elected. We need to heed the FDNY on this guy’s leadership qualities.

Looks like the presidential selection committee has already met and decided that “We the People” will be given a choice to vote for either the carpet bagger from New York state, Hillary Clinton or the cross-dresser from New York state, Guilani.

With choices like these shoved down our throats, why even bother to vote?

Did the fire fighters get functioning mobile phones on 9/11?
Thanks to this creep they didn’t.

When is someone going to wipe that sanctimonious grin off his pretentious face?

I am the owner of 4 guns and not a member of the NRA , and don’t support gun control. In NYC the citizens are for gun control and as mayor Rudy supported it. Now that he is running for POTUS he is against it as are majority of Americans. To me this shows that Rudy LISTENS to the public respects it’s opinion as any candidate should

The call, if not staged was a nice touch.Really listening to politician’s and comparing that with their later actions makes most thinking folk a tad skeptical.
It is a shame that he has to ‘appear’ to compromise his earlier position on gun control.
Most of us can readily think of at least 1 person that they know, whose possession of a weapon is worrisome. And of many other’s who have weapons, but also good sense and are not as worrisome.
But the NRA can throw a bunch of money towards a candidate and that is the name of the game as it is now played.
