Whistleblowers Expose State Department BushiePosted on Sep 18, 2007Rep. Henry Waxman has accused the State Department’s top oversight official of looking out for the best interests of the Bush administration, and not the American taxpayer. A number of current and former subordinates of the State Department’s inspector general contacted Waxman to report interference with investigations into fraud and corruption in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.

I agree with everything in the article except the part refering to the bu$h administration.
Can you say bu$h cabal?
These people got into this to make money. How can you make money if someone is counting the chickens. Can’t have that.
There has never been a time that corruption was non-existant, but it’s now become endemic in America, because both parties put their needs ahead of everything. They have all sold out to the Multi-national corporatocracy.
Lets elect Kucinich or Ron Paul. After we elect them we’ll need to get really active to run the trash out of Congress.

Report thisWhile few things could or would make me happier than seeing the Shootist and Shrub doing a prep walk, it would seem that the odds of that happening are right up there with the Second Coming during my lifetime.
If Congress won’t Impeach either of them, they sure won’t authorize the filing of criminal charges.
And should some DA or State AG file, I doubt the Secret Service would allow either to be taken into custody without approval from Justice.
Besides, if it ever got close to happening, a private jet would be called up for a quick hop to the Southern Cone.
That the Shrub is too dumb to mastermind anything beyond getting dressed, on his own, is a given.
The Shootist is using Shrub as the cheerful idiot front. All Shrub can understand is that he has more money than daddy ever dreamed of giving him.
Realistically, the best we can hope for is removal from office. Then they could be charged in absentia, thus putting a crimp in any plans for either to return to the States.
And that seems to be a forlorn hope at this point. Simply because there is too much money available for these Congress critter’s as long as they allow the status quo to continue. Even were the money to dry up, I am not real sure that any would remember that they were put there to do the right thing, or how to go about doing anything that could be considered right for the American people.
I would dearly love to be proven wrong, and have been before. ‘Course that was when Shrub announced that he would run for President and I said that no one in their right mind would vote for him. I was half right on that. Many who did actually vote for him in 2000 are now regretting that lapse in common sense.
Unless the American political system is reformed to remove the big money from the process, we can expect more along these same lines. I doubt, nay, pray, that the people have learned a lesson about relying on sound bites to choose a candidate, especially one who had been a cipher before deciding, or rather, being conned into running.

I’m not sure you guys have read yet the entire article, (which was excellent by the way). The article links to it.
And, the very last paragraph of the article explains it all. (or most of it). In short, this isn’t a political issue, it’s a criminal one.
From the NYT
...."Mr. Krongard became inspector general in May 2005. He worked previously for Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, -an international law firm,- and before that, served as general counsel of Deloitte & Touche.”..
So, this wasn’t about him doing the Shrubs political agenda, it was about being part of the criminal bunch, and probably a major player.
This guy knows every way from Sunday on how to steal resources on the international scale, and how to cover it up.
And, that’s what he’s been doing, which is exactly why CHENEY would have appointed him, back in 2005.
You guys have to get away from referring to the Boy or the Shrub, or GW bush, as if he’s anything at all. He’s not making any decisions about anything, and he’s far too stupid to run a criminal enterprise the size of what Cheney and the other neo-cons (the original bunch) have put together.
I’m just telling you. The Shrub is too stupid.
Read the rest of the article.
As for Henry Waxman, he’s a hero. And, it’s like I said before, it’s his JOB, and as unbelievable as it might seem, there are still some civil servants who actually DO their jobs.
And, I’ll go even further to suggest that these employees, these working grunt civil servants who came forward, are probably grateful as hell that there was a Henry Waxman left to actually connect with. In this era, people don’t know who’s friend, foe, or totally disconnected.
So, ya’ll can say what you want about Henry, I’m damn glad he’s around.
Now, given enough time, maybe he COULD take on the Pentagon. I don’t know. FOr now, it’s the State Department, and I’m thinking it just might lead to bigger fish.
Thanks again...Mr. Waxman.

Waxman voted for the theft of Oil, pipeline to Israel malfeasance and now suddenly he’d like to turn states evidence and take a PR shot at the state dept. - what a fraud.
When henry has the balls to take on the Pentagon and ask how it was possible that an Israeli could have run the books in Our dept. of defense, he might matter.
Report thisBut, he’s just another political media gimmick - Ann Coulter w/a mustache.

I am so glad that Waxman is wasting time investigating whether or not Shrub appointed someone who was only interested in protecting the image of Shrubs’ brand of Rupublican’s and not at all interested in doing their assigned job. (I make the distinction between honest Republican’s and Shrubs’ brand because there is a difference. I know many honest Republican’s that are wishing that they had never heard of the Shrub, along with everybody else.)
Report thisMaybe there are some folks in another country that aren’t aware that Shrub will only appoint politically reliable persons. Remember when that phrase was only used about the people in the Communist Party?
Henry can assure the folks back home that he is struggling to oppose the Shrub. Seems like he and every other Congress critter could do more for the folks back home if he’d get on board with an Article of Impeachment against the Shootist and then the Shrub.
No amount of hearings or investigations are going to change the Shrubs’ way of doing things.
Shrub has the uncanny ability to ignore reality, even as it stares him straight on.
In case Henry and the other Democrat’s haven’t noticed, Shrub will promise and agree to anything, just to get more time, knowing all the while that he has no intention of honoring his “word”. In fact, Shrub would have the Devils’ own time trying to explain ‘Honor’, other than “its a thing, ya know”.
