Syria Fires on Israeli JetsPosted on Sep 6, 2007Ramping up already escalating tensions between the two nations, Syrian military officials claimed Thursday that Israeli warplanes violated Syrian airspace in the wee hours of the morning, prompting Syrian air defense forces to open fire until the planes turned around—an account Israel has yet to confirm or deny.

The last thing our Gov’t wants is peace in that area, not until we are fully in command along with Israel! Until then we continue to attack and weaken any Middle East country that refuses to play the tune of american fascism.

This again shows how strong the Israel military is. It is able to fly non-challenged into Syria and even went as far as flying over Syria President’s summer home last year. But the mainstream media is playing down the significance of the event. The Israel is provoking Syria to act militarily. One of the leading newspaper in UK Guardian Unlimited, used the headlines ‘Tension rises after Syria opens fire on Israel plane’.
But in the US, Israel is shown as the victim in the Middle East conflict against the Palestinians. It was the victims of suicide bombings, etc. I am pretty sure if the US supplied the Palestinian with F16 and guided munition, there will NO suicide bombing perpetrated by Palestinian. It is only ‘targetted assasination’.

Israel can go head-to-head with Syria but it was a victim of suicide bombing… what a pity for a poor nation?

....“One day, American politicians will understand that nothing they come up with will solve the problems of that area.”...
Actually FarmerTx,
It’s exactly what they’ve ALREADY “come up with”, that has CREATED the problems in the area. And, they’ve been creating the problems for so long, with such hubris, that it has long since blown right back in our faces, and will continue to do that, until they really do come up with the only solution, which would be to remove all traces of any US military presence from the Middle East, and let Israel fight it’s own wars with all of it’s Arab neighbors, (without ANY US assistance)
Now, that may or may not convince Israel that it is not in it’s best interests, to continue this 60 year old feud, with literally ALL of it’s neighbors. I don’t hold out a lot of hope for that, since the conflict is older than I am.
But, who knows?
All I’m sure of, is that the solution is so obvious, that it might be the reason the politicians haven’t figured it out yet. They should be able to figure out that if one removes the fuel source from the disaster, (in this case, US meddling in the region)then that will at least check it enough to let the thing burn out on it’s own, or even be manageable with other resources, that DON’T require a US presence in the region.
But, since that is in fact a REAL solution, to the REAL “problems -in the area-”...that’s not gonna happen.
This gang hasn’t spent years and jillions of our dollars building a US Capitol in the Middle East, owned and operated by Halliburton, et al, to pick up and leave now. Those very huge and permanent US bases in Iraq, as well as the entire Emerald City, (the green zone, self-contained with it’s own zip code, electricity, gas, water, sewage, golf course, movie theaters, mall, etc)were obviously intended to be permanent. Just like the near billion dollar American Embassy that forms the core of the US Capitol of Baghdad certainly wasn’t intended as any remote or temporary outpost for US diplomats in conflict zone. Not when we consider that the newly constructed thing is the largest on the planet. (Embassy that is).
So, all of that considered, (plus so much more) would probably suggest that the “problems” in the area will continue. Because, Cheney isn’t leaving, and I’d bet the Mrs has already picked out the furnishings for the Vice Palace.
