A protest by Fatah supporters against Hamas rule turned violent Friday when Hamas men began dispersing the crowd, firing in the air and beating demonstrators.

Thousands of protesters clashed with Hamas security forces in Gaza on Friday. Rival groups, including the recently ousted Fatah, organized the demonstration, which centered on alleged civil liberty violations and the politicization of mosques.

BBC:

Thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have taken part in protests against the territory’s Hamas rulers, despite a ban on public gatherings.

About 20 people were injured in clashes after outdoor prayers were organised that turned into marches in main towns.

Protesters accuse the Islamist Hamas of violating civil liberties and using mosques to spread political propaganda.

Why did the USA get involved in this unsolvable mayhem? Wiser heads in the 1940s warned Truman to keep neutral with no choosing of sides.

4 CHEERS FOR ISRAEL.  They weren’t even mentioned in the article. Never know it reading some of the comments below.  Not a single comment about Hamas. Lovely outfit, indeed.
Let’s see.  The sun is going to come up in the east tomorrow.  Is this Israel’s fault, too?

Israel is a nuclear power plant of toxic Karma

and they have absolutely no one to blame but themselves, but blame, complain, attack, distract, distort, deflect and deny they will. All at the contemptable expense of everyone else.

Keep lying to yourselves Israel, its what you do best."""""""

Most likely, if this continues, Hamas will launch enough rockets into Israel to get them to start another military incursion. They count on this (over)reaction to create the “we have a dangerous illtempered neighbor, we need the hardliners” effect.

Well, this is what the U.S. Israel have wanted...both are instigating civil war among palestinians to advance their agenda.

Since so many of us humans can’t seem to get along with one another at this stage in our evolution and since “negotiated settlements” usually aren’t worth the time and effort to put them on paper, I guess the only effective way to get any peace at all is to take a page from our early ancestor’s “Book of Getting Along With Your Neighbors.”:

Simply have all your most powerful warriors pick up the biggest clubs they can find, and send them off to raid your enemy’s village in the dead of night… and to make sure every man, woman and child is murdered. If even one escapes to reproduce you’re only going to have to do it all over again. Kill ‘em all… the first time!

Problem solved. Peace.

Quote: “Hamas spokesman Sami Abu-Zuhri told the BBC that every Palestinian had the right to stage demonstrations but that some of the protesters had thrown stones at buildings in Gaza.”

Sure, you have the “right” to protest, just don’t you dare DO it.
