French Jail Awaits Noriega?

Once he’s released in September from a Miami prison, where he’s been serving time for the last 15 years, former Panamanian ruler Manuel Noriega faces yet another jail term, either in his homeland or, more likely, in France.  On Friday, a U.S. federal judge refused to block Noriega’s extradition to France, where he may endure yet another stint in a foreign prison.

BBC:

Noriega is to gain early release from a Florida prison for good behaviour in September, but a fight has begun over where he will be heading next.

The French authorities want his extradition so that he can serve out a sentence on a 1999 money-laundering conviction obtained in absentia.

But Panama’s President Martin Torrijos said he would like the former military leader returned to Panama to serve a sentence for the murder of a government opponent.

Noriega was a CIA asset heading a US supported dictatorship in a US-created country where the US owned an important Canal. Now he’s being released from a US prison and the US will extradite him to France.

Typical. Noriega’s victims were for the overwhelming majority Panamanians. He’s not wanted here on such futilities as shipping dope or laundering money, but for murdering his opponents. Yet, as has been the norm throughout this whole sordid affair, Panamanians are left out of the equation because, as it is, the US doesn’t want political turmoil that would no doubt ensue should Noriega return to Panama.

For the truth about monster daddy bush’s invasion of Panama and the massacres that followed, please watch this Google video:

The Panama Deception

It was on Link TV Thurs night - absolutely horrible.
It was just practice for Iraq.

Ah, another sad tale of a leader of a country who made the mistake of being complicit in bad American mojo. When will they learn?  Noriega, bad guy that he is became the fall guy for another shrub.  If you wash our dirty laundry, you’ll be the one hung out to dry.

Does it really matter which prison term he serves first?
