CIA Report Blames Tenet for 9/11 Failure

Tenet
smh.com.au

A newly released internal CIA report lays the “ultimate blame” for a lack of strategy to combat al-Qaida before 9/11 on former Director George Tenet, who calls the charge “flat wrong.” Congress ordered the declassification of the scathing document, which was completed in 2005.

BBC:

The review team led by Inspector General John Helgerson found no “single point of failure” that would have stopped the attacks on 11 September 2001.

But he says US spy agencies lacked a comprehensive plan to counter al-Qaeda.

The report concludes that Mr Tenet “by virtue of his position, bears ultimate responsibility for the fact that no such strategic plan was ever created”.

1Drees, I’m sorry, you misunderstood the target of LMAO. LMAO was at Tenet&Cmdr;-inChief. Imagine? Tenet on that prestigious list with Mother Teresa & MLK, etc. it cries laughter, the flip side of my tears.  Medal of Freedom? for Tenet? I appreciate your reply as I would never trivialize this horror but the 2nd & 3rd Bananas. Those two.  No, senor Drees, I was LMAO at the Vaudevillian style of this borrowed from Studs Terkel biting analysis and he’s 95 so he’s seen it all.  Thanks though.  I need to sharpen my jokes even more. God bless you bro.

CARLITO, this is hardly a laffing matter bro, i mean these people have actually had detrimental effects on lives of atleast 1 BILLION PEOPLE, (Not to Forget, atleast 1 MILLION IRAQIS DEAD and atleast 4 MILLION DISPLACED) then if you go into the 9/11 conspiracy details you will see that this is a FIXED BLAME GAME ( it goes like this, you take the rap and we take good care of you eg libby). CIA or better to call it the “COCAINE IMPORT AGENCY” does a lot of things that were never really its job, its an agency way way out of control. and surely upto no good, ihave had the misfortune of reading the Declassified reports and researcheson CIAs activities and surely no country really wants to do all that BUT THESE GUYS BEEN DOING IT FOR AGES! COMPLIMENTS OF THE ZIONIST INFESTATION OF USA.

Dick Cheney was in charge of NORAD who could have had fighter jets at the scenes in minutes on 911. Someone in Congress needs to get the strength to impeach Dick Cheney and get some anwers about his secret governemtal activities. Oh, that would be Dennis Kucinich. Instead, we keep getting the ho hum crowd (Clinton,Obama,Edwards) spun at us as if they have solutions? I guess its money. I will only vote for politicians who sign on to HR333. For the families of the victims of 911 and for Bush’s constent fruadulant use of 911 to destroy the constitution we need a real investigation to take place.

So the responsibility arrow has stopped at Tenet on it’s latest spin around the blame board. So what, nothing will happen to him or anyone else in Bu$h Inc.

Responsibility and accountability, two words that politicians love to use, cannot be found in any dictionary in any of our city, county, state or federal “lie-braries”.
Let me know when someone in D.C. is doing hard time for their “failures” - that would be real news.

Anyone who reads “Ghost Wars” knows already these bungles and the implications of possible deliberate ignoring of these terrorists on US soil. If you add the FBI’s cases of conspiciously casting a blind eye to these guys, it is beyond “smelling fishy.”
I don’t trust Tenet now that he quit. I don’t trust the recent campaign in our post 9-11, secrecy oriented goveernement, conservative media and so forth in their blasting the CIA. Something else is up entirely.
Anyone who gets on this “lets get rid of the CIA” bandwagon, if that intitiative comes from anywhwere besides the most radical libertarian or anarchistic quarter, is getting suckered BIG TIME!!!!
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2 007/07/06/AR2007070601993.html

The CIA is already being replaced by privatized corporate intelligence, with no roots whatsoever in the constituional governemnt...the so-called pre 9-11 world. As the CIa would get disbanded, Raytheon and Abrasax and others would rise to replace it fully.  The hyphen in military-industrial will be gone. Who does Tenet work for now that he quit the Company?
These companies are hiring out the real loyalists to the post 9-11 regime, leaving behind those who actually think they exist in some nearness to chex and balances of governemnt, when the attrition is complete, the CIA will be gone, and our secret military power will be fully in the hands of Corporate America...probably operating off shore!

This info, which is 2+ years old, is being publicized at the same moment the History Channel has aired it’s 9/11 Truth Movement hit piece.

Tenet has obviously agreed to be a fall guy and take the heat.

Funny how everyone who has ever been involved with this administration starts out as an obsequious yes-man but then becomes a scapegoat when the policies they went along with turn out to be disasters--as they inevitably do.

Vet, I am not sure of the date, but it was after Tommy Franks and the guy who oversaw the occupation of Baghdad got theirs.
Just one more incident of the Shrub honoring failure.
There was a rumor that Tenet was planning a memoir and the Shrub cooked up a deal to delay the publication until after the ‘06 election. Was the medal a part of the pay off? Who knows?

George’s defense is typical.Who are you gonna believe me or your lying eyes? How could this guy have lasted through two administrations. Are we sure it was Monica Lewinsky under the desk?Let us not forget before they decided that taking away our rights was the only to fight terrorism the CIA knew that two potential terrorists were in this country and did not tell the FBI.That the CIA in the PDB of August 6 told Bush that Bin Laden was determined to attack in the US.As I recall he was too busy clearing brush on his ranch to do anything. There is plenty of blame to go around.I am glad that they released this report so that lying sack of shit George Tenet can feel the disgust of his fellow citizens during his lifetime.

Was this the report that GW said he had in 2003 but would not reveal until after the 2004 elections, even though it was completed until 2005? Or was that another report about 911.It’s is getting hard to keep track of all the lies with this bunch.

This guy looks like he tied one on that lasted for at least 2 years.

It’s hard to tell which stooge this guy is,there were five altogether. Moe-often dressed as Hitler-so that would be the Weed a dictator.Curly looks more like the facial expressions on Tenet here. Then there was Larry-he could be Snarl Drove as Larry has male pattern baldness and has a snarly look, just like Snarl and he used to have have at one time.Joe and Shemp any suggestions as to who they would be?

I don’t know when Weed gave Tenet the Medal of Freedom. When Weed gave it to him he thought it was like the “get out of jail” card in the Monopoly game.

How about some freakin answers as to who was involved in 9/11. It’s beyond clear that those damn planes DID NOT bring down those towers.

Just another stupid smokescreen to detract from the REAL FREAKIN TRUTH!!!

The CIA been nothing but a black eye, bloody nose and kick to the groin of America since it’s creation.

Tenet, as head of the Agency at that time, is ultimately responsible for its successes and failures.
No mention was made of the Church Amendment, which has hamstrung the Agency with oversight.
But the real onus is on the Shrub.
He had people trying to tell him about al-Queda, but, pre 9/11, all he wanted to hear was evidence that Iraq needed to be invaded.
Since none existed, it had to be fabricated. The main source was a con man known to lie for money. You know, the kind Shrub is most comfortable in being around.
Tenet was told that the source had a bad track record for honesty. But the Shrub was demanding proof. And Tenet needed the job, evidently. ‘Cause he gave Shrub what he wanted.
And Shrub gave him a Presidential Medal of Freedom, an award that used to mean something, until Shrub passed them out as party favors for failing.
No, Tenet shares in the blame, but the ultimate person to blame is the Shrub himself.
It is going to be interesting to see how Shrubs’ Library presents his version. It sure won’t be the one we have lived through, those of us lucky enough to have lived, that is.
