Fine, Newt, but what we really want to know is:  Are you smarter than a fifth-grader?

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich thinks the road to the White House is longer and stranger than ever—and he ought to be concerned, considering he’s rumored to be joining the other candidates on that road soon.  “These aren’t debates,” the Georgia Republican groused to CNN, comparing the recent debates to a cross between “The Bachelor,” “American Idol” and “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth-Grader.”

CNN.com:

“What’s the job of the candidate in this world?” asked Gingrich. “The job of the candidate is to raise the money to hire the consultants to do the focus groups to figure out the 30-second answers to be memorized by the candidate. This is stunningly dangerous.”

Gingrich said the need to raise tens of millions of dollars has driven campaigns to begin cranking up much earlier than ever. Meanwhile, he said, advisers are telling candidates to begin campaigning “as soon as possible—I need a check.”

What a hogwash from a manipulative and deceitful individual. I guess he doesnt want anyone to talk about his personal failing. He was one of main cast of characters to practice politics of personal destruction when it suited his purpose.

Forget Newt. Wasn’t he the one who really got us into the mess we are in now with his, “Contract ON America”? ‘Crazy Ideas’ is appropriate in the title of this piece.

One of the best bumper stickers I have ever seen was sported by two little blue haired old ladies that said “NUCK FEWT!”

I don’t know about your family values, but for people in my family they don’t include unmitigated greed, corruption, and callous indifference to suffering of those less fortunate in society.

Yes Louise!

Gingrich is an elitist, globalist, anti Constitutional liar.

Standing behind the Flag while speaking of values that we all hold dear.  BUT what is his track record??  He stands for dismantling the USA and creating a New World Order.

I feel that the Constitution should be upheld and as a matter of fact I am wondering when more people will wake up to the fact that he and bush and all neocons have lied and committed treason.  They all swore to uphold the Constitution and to protect America from all threats…foreign and domestic.

They are NOT doing this….They are doing the OPPOSITE.

They are traitors.

People wake up and stop talking about people like this whos goal is to destroy the USA.

We need to take action…NOW!

“For the most powerful nation on Earth to have an election in which Swift Boat veterans versus National Guard papers becomes a major theme verges on insane,” said Gingrich, referring to 2004 campaign controversies that targeted Kerry and President Bush. “I mean, it’s just—and to watch those debates, I found painful—for both people. They’re both smarter than the debates.”

Who da ever thought Ginrich could say something I agree with?

But that’s where we part company.

“Normal, rational Iowans who had rigorously avoided politics for the entire previous year looked up and said, ‘He’s weird.’ And they looked back down, and Howard Dean disintegrated,” Gingrich said.”

Right, or the fixers were already busy fixing in Iowa, which they did in the General Election and we all know they did and they will probably do it again. And if Gingrich does decide to throw his hat in the race it will only be because he has been led to believe something will be fixed for him.

The Republican Party ... the party of the cheaters.

Why do we even waste time debating which republican candidate will make the best president? They’re all a joke!

With the notable exception of one Ron Paul, and we know they wont fix the vote for him ... unless it’s to make sure he DOESN’T win ... he’s got their number!

The rest of them are less qualified, less informed and less sincere than most of the posters here! Which makes the reality doubly painful to contemplate ... the republicans march on unscathed, in spite of the fact that they cheat!

Even on each other!

Look what I just ran across!

Voting At The Iowa Straw Poll: Fraud-Proof, Honest & Secure ... NOT!

“Despite a study from computer scientists at the University of California paid for by the Secretary of State of California - publicized in the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times LAST SATURDAY (July 28, 2007) - the Iowa GOP is STILL planning to use the easily rigged Diebold computers to “count” the vote at the Straw poll!”

“An analysis of Diebold’s source code shows that a hacker with access to a single voting machine could use a virus to affect an election. And this from the company that never loses an ATM transaction!”

Sorry to hear about your wife Farmertex.  It is however good to see that people other than republican demagogues have well develeped sences of morality and commitment.

I love how most of the democratic candidates are in long term marrigages, while most of the republicans are on thier second and third ones.  Even the Clintons managed to stay together for christ sake.

Newt is an asshole.
But McCain is a bigger one.

Ol’ Newts’ best idea was to show his Family Values by waiting until his wife was in the hospital with Cancer and saying, By the way, Bye.
My late wife and I were on the verge of a divorce when she discovered her cancer.
My first thought when the doc told me was, How can I walk away now? She lasted for almost two years before passing, with me right there, doing what little I could.
‘Course, I don’t have the family values that the Republican’s talk about, yet rarely display.
