Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s “unity government” has lost its last Sunni representatives, as five ministers announced a boycott in protest of sectarian favoritism. Nearly half of the Cabinet has walked this year.

BBC:

Iraq’s largest Sunni-Arab bloc, the Accordance Front, withdrew six ministers from the cabinet last week.

So far this year, 17 government ministers - nearly half of the cabinet - have either suspended their participation or quit.

The BBC’s Andy Gallacher in Baghdad says it is a serious setback for any attempts at reconciliation between Shia and Sunni factions.

Billis

From what I’ve seen of the Shrub and the Shootist, the Cabinet is a hindrance to their grand plans.
Shrub, especially, cannot stand to have anybody present a viewpoint different from his own.
Those who have been foolish enough to add a dash of reality to their proposals soon found they had no job.
The Shootist, well he just nods off when he thinks he might hear something akin to reality.

We need Iraqi style Democracy here.It would be great if half the cabinet walked out on Bush and left him there by himself with Cheney.Maybe the moron in chief would do less damage.

Odd. The Saudi Royal Family is Sunni. You’d think, with the long and close personal relationship between the House of Shrubs and the House of Faud, a little power could be brought to bear.
I mean, the dude has given them freedom and democracy. Not too mention, his plan is endorsed by God.(Well, ain’t no lightning bolts hit him, so that means God is with the program, right?)
Guess there will always be an Ugly American somewhere.
His, and other politician’s biggest fault ( in foreign relations), is not knowing that not all people think exactly like American’s and have the same goals. Goals could be sorta the same, but the route to them will sure be different.
