Pentagon Sold Banned Jet Equipment

The Government Accountability Office has found that the Defense Department sold roughly 1,400 parts that could be used to repair Iran’s aging air force, despite a crackdown on such sales.

A little background: Iran, and only Iran, flies a particular jet that requires American parts for maintenance. While the U.S., ever flirting with a confrontation with Iran, doesn’t sell the parts directly, third-party buyers could conceivably purchase the needed equipment on behalf of Iran, hence the crackdown. It’s unknown whether the prohibited parts mentioned in the GAO investigation made their way there.

Los Angeles Times:

The Government Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress, said the Defense Department had improved security in its surplus program to prevent improper sales of sensitive items.

But investigators found that about 1,400 parts that could be used on F-14 “Tomcat” fighter jets were sold to the public in February. That came after the Pentagon announced it had suspended sales of all parts that could be used on the Tomcat while it reviewed security concerns. It was not known whether any parts were sold to Iran.

Our government is itching for a military confrontation with Iran and made a ‘mistake’ and sold jet parts that only Iran needs, did it? So, now Iran might put a plane or two or few more into the AIR, the Persian Gulf AIR near our AIRcraft carrier group. How convenient.

Our government is not making as many mistakes as they are calculated moves.

With great responsibility comes great reward AND… accountability. So mothers, take down from your childrens’ walls posters of our nation’s leaders and find far greater character for your children to aspire to in the hard-striving Americans of reality tv.

During the “hostage crisis” under President Carter, our “friends” in Israel got a significant amount of F-14 spares from us (more than the “normal needed”) and sold them to Iran at BIG MARKUPS !!  Don’t believe me? Research it. It’s there. And now, all these years later, its happening again?
Guilty party(s)? Try our “friends” in Israel. Betcha they’re right in the middle of the profits, again. History repeating itself? YUP.

Guess the money to replace all that was forecast after the tax cuts has to come from somewhere, huh?
‘Course, pre WarII we sold Japan a bunch of scrap metal…that soon returned to harm us. But, we made it through that. ‘Course, we had a leader with a clue back then.
Maybe those parts were sold to legitmate re-seller’s and won’t go astray, as it were. Maybe.

Very funny story. Iranian air force will be destroyed completely after using those parts for its aircrafts.

The Iran-Contra part 2 starts with lot of fun !
