Condi Pitches $20-Billion Mideast Arms DealPosted on Jul 30, 2007Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Monday revealed details of an extensive arms package totaling $20 billion for Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other nearby countries—along with a $30-billion 10-year plan for Israel—with the purported aim of shoring up Middle Eastern states against the potential regional threat posed by Iran.

Oh Fadel, I do love this:
• …..”Shit, another big shit coming from the neocons warmongers before they leave office”….
Maybe I’ve just got a case of the giggles, but it does tickle me. Now on THIS, I could not have said it better myself:
• And the author of this big shit is the old maid slave Condi; the slave of the white man establishment, who never really tasted the true feeling of freedom from slavery, though slavery has been formally abolished many years ago.
You are so right on the mark here. It is she who has never really tasted the freedom from slavery, but on the other hand, she was also never subjected to the worst marks of what slavery did here, because she’s always been a “house” slave in the system, as opposed to the masses in the fields, and has therefore always had the “protection” of the white man’s establishment, as pretty much delivered to her by her father. He had already set-up up such an alliance long ago. That gigantic oil tanker with her name in gigantic letters, (sitting right there on the US Gulf Coast) is a good indication of how that connection goes.
And, this sums it up very nicely:
• …..”Instead of serving the nation as the top diplomat and trying to bring peace and diplomacy to the area, her last and only big act is to serve her evil white masters in the military industrial complex by arranging for a huge arm deal worth untold billions."…
So yep, we’ve got her number alright. Always have. She is NOT to be trusted on anything. She’s as much a danger as the others, for all of the reasons you’ve mentioned in the same post. And yes, it’s a tragedy for the people of the Middle East, as well as those of us here in the West.
The entire regime has created unprecedented damage.

With this multi-billion dollars war-making machine deal, the U.S. political-military-industrial complex is laying the foundation for a hundred-year wars and conflicts in the Middle East, while the millions of American sheep continue blessfully to eat the grass they are being fed, forgeting in the process that the fatter the sheep become, the sooner they will be shipped to the slaughter houses!

Non Credo, (in response to my musings about Congress)
• Oh, goodness, of course not, Cyrena. Certainly this gargantuan gift to Israel will not even be debated. Merely proposing to debate it would put any politician on AIPAC’s hit list, and our Israeli-occupied corporate media would cooperate in destroying that person…
What can I say. You’re absolutely correct. (which I knew, so I guess it was a rhetorical, albeit stupid it was a stupid question)
• “Let’s see - this will be fun - what method should we use on this guy? Should we demonize him, make him invisible, or subject him to a campaign of ridicule?…
My guess is that they’ll do all of the about. They’ve spent the past several years “demonizing” Iran, as well as Ahmadinejad, (and some of my colleagues think it’s a question of…”the longer the name, or the difficulty in pronunciation - for them - to determines the level of demonization to be used).
But, that’s for the Middle Eastern subjects…those Arabs. For any of our OWN, (who might try to act against this) it’ll be more like what they did to the Wilsons, or to Cynthia McKinney, or to Cindy Sheehan, or to Martin Luther King, Jr, or to those nine US attorneys who were fired, not to mention the one that was actually killed.
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/073007S.shtml
I’m convinced that “disappearing” all of them has probably always been the preferred method, but when we come to people who would actually –be MISSED- it’s more effective to ruin them socially and financially.
So, that’s what we should expect, which is why there won’t be any debate.
Remember how much they hollered when that UAE company was buying the rights to service our ports? Hillary got behind that, even though it was all a fake anyway. And of course Condi was in on that act as well, and started sprouting her usual, about the “message” it was sending to our “Arab neighbors” that we didn’t want them to service our ports. (like maybe we didn’t like or trust them?) Funny how they turn all Arabs into terrorists determined to wipe us out, and of whom we should all live in permanent fear.
Then, the next day, Condi is telling all of the Arab nations, that they should “reach out” to Israel. (gag, gag, gag) and then the next day, that all the rest of the world should ISOLATE Iran and Syria, (that’s every other day actually) and now, same person says we’re just gonna sell Egypt and SArabia a bunch of weapons, and GIVE Israel, a whole bunch MORE.
And no, so far…Hillary hasn’t said a word this time. And, unless I’ve missed it, neither has anyone else, with the exception of those two Congress guys, whose names I can’t remember.
And, if we take to the streets in protest? Well, that used to work, back in the day. But, there are all of these police state laws in place now. It sort of has a tendency to dampen any activities like that.
Meantime, yep...this IS an emergency, and we are in full blown crises.

No, its NOT a “20 billion Mid-East arms deal”. Its a $63 billion arms + munitions manufacturers’ dream! Add it up, yes there’s $20 billion for S.Arabia and the Emirates but ALSO $13 billion for Egypt plus the $30 billion “military aid” to Israel. Its enough to make you sick!

Instead of serving the nation as the top diplomat and trying to bring peace and diplomacy to the area, her last and only big act is to serve her evil white masters in the military industrial complex by arranging for a huge arm deal worth untold billions.
I read this disturbing piece of news about the Bush administration further militarizing the Middle East and preparing the ground for further future military conflicts that will continue beyond his evil presidency. I am more opposed to U.S. arming Arab countries than even arming Israel, especially Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Arming Saudi Arabia and Egypt is not intended to counter the Iranian power as the false propaganda goes. It is intended to give these two very unpopular and anti-nationalistic regimes longer leases on life. En essence, it is a way to arrest the appearance of progressive democratic political systems in these two largest and most strategic Arab countries.
And every time the U.S. will make arms deal with any Arab country, for which they have to pay dearly at the expense of development in other civil areas of lives for their citizens, in the name of “balancing” and appeasing Israel and its American-ruling lobby, the American citizens have to bear the burden of these billions given free to Israel. The money they will make on the deals with Saudi Arabia and Egypt will be certainly offset by the larger amount of monies given to Israel from tax-payers’ sweat. And future generation of tax-paying Americans, besides the financial burden, will also get as a bonus continued hatred and mistrust for allowing their supposedly democratic governments to continue their short-sighted, militaristic and pure evil approach to dealing with the Middle East.
Any way you look at it, it is a fat and sad no-win situation for both the people of the U.S. and the peoples of the Middle East. And the persisting question begging an answer is: When are Americans going to wake up and put an end to all the evil and mischief their political-military establishments are doing in their names and with their treasury?!

I loathe Saudi Arabia (and I am Arab) but education is not from Mullahs in saudi but in Proper well funded schools , colleges and universities . saudi spends a lot of money on the schools and colleges . I saw a group of Saudi young women at campus talking to Karen Hughes from the US , i was amazed at their US Accent kind of English without a heavy Arabic accent. Most Schools are equipped with laboratories and COmputers and Best Libraries there is . but many of these Educated students end up hating their regime . many can not find jobs , many are so rich and so spoilt and lazy because the staff does everything for them from maids at home , cooks , private driver etc…

Truly dessenting voices can only be heard on the Web. I have traveled to many of the major anti war protest over the last four years, and even by our supposedly ‘liberal media’, the numbers were under reported by at least half. There is a large protest at the School of the Americas, where Saddam’s sons and Pinochet’s generals learned how to use high tech equiptment and low tech torture. I was at the CAFTA protest in Miami where the police and 5,000 Haliburton (subsidiary) private cops blocked over half of the attendees from participating in a lawfully permitted protest.

I learned this poem when I was a child and every time things are going on that just don’t have a logical (good or bad) sequence, the lines always come back to me. It goes like this:
As I was going up the stair,
I met a man who wasn’t there.
He wasn’t there again today,
I wish, I wish, he’d stay away.
Hmm......something’s not what it seems...hmm....

Without “giving up” who I am....I DO have extensive knowledge of military shit. It’s, sometimes unfortunately, what I do for a living. There is a program I’m involved in to put a extra door into a helicopter for the Saudi’s (exclusive of this new deal being proposed). There is already two rear windows to accomodate 50 cal. machine guns. The “extra” door gives it the ability to fire “3” simultaneously. You guys ever see a 50 cal. bullet/mini-missle? They’re pretty damn scary. Trust me on this. Firing “3” simultaneously (which is the mission) is much more than crowd disbursement. It’s MURDER. In a big way, MURDER !! So, a great idea that these neo-cons have is to give them more. Much more, firepower. We, as a country, need to extricate our “kids” from the Iraqi theater A.S.A.P. Before the calamity of all our “craziness” puts them more deeply into harm’s way. I “smell” disaster looming. I’m not telling you guys anything that you probably couldn’t surmise, but I’m involved in some of the crap going on militarily. Pardon me if I don’t divulge my name but these “nutjobs” might find a way to silence me, like the Patriot Pat Tillman. “Bush Administration officials said the arms sales are meant in part to act as a bulwark against Iran’s growing influence in the Middle East.”
This is SO outrageous it’s difficult to make any comment coherent.
WHEN are our “leaders"… oh, forget it. Our “leaders” have been completely corrupted by the military-industrial complex’s clout. There are BILLIONS and BILLIONS, as Sagan would have said, to be made in selling “arms.” The USA would, and probably has sold arms to IRAN and RUSSIA… if not the actual hardware at least the plans.
The USA doesn’t give a damn WHO it sells “arms” to - just so long as the USA retains superior numbers of those arms so as to remain the head bully on the planet.
If our “leaders” - nationally and internationally - had any GUTS or ETHICS or MORALS - they would BAN ALL ARMS SALES FROM/TO ANYONE. If you want “arms” BUILD THEM YOURSELF or GO WITHOUT.
If the people in any given country are stupid enough to allow their leaders to WASTE their nation’s hard-earned tax dollars on “arms” then they get what they deserve. There should be NO AID WHATSOEVER given to any country that spends a cent on “arms.” If you’ve got the bucks to buy the “bang” then you’ve got the money to FEED YOUR OWN DAMN POPULATION.
(Apologies and my deepest sympathies in advance to all the “little” people who are and will continue to get screwed by their own governments. I can’t do anything about it except complain. Too bad no one gives a damn what I think.)
