Heading the press off at the pass:  Sen. David Vitter fessed up to giving “D.C. Madam” Deborah Jeane Palfrey some business in the past.

So a Republican senator from the Deep South who loves to tell other people if and how they should have sex, has been exposed as a former client of a prominent D.C. madam?  You say this ardent defender of the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman has “asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling”?  You wonder if God is just mailing in his storylines these days?

“Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there—with God and them,” said Louisiana Sen. David Vitter, who apparently beat the press to the punch after his telephone number appeared among those released by the so-called D.C. Madam, Deborah Jeane Palfrey.  Vitter is in his first Senate term but served in the House for five years, where he co-sponsored the Federal Marriage Amendment.

AP via Yahoo News:

Deborah Jeane Palfrey is accused by federal prosecutors of racketeering by running a prostitution ring that netted more than $2 million over 13 years, beginning in 1993. She contends that her escort service, Pamela Martin and Associates, was a legitimate business.

Louisiana’s Democratic governor, Kathleen Blanco, issued a statement saying she was “disappointed” over the [Vitter] revelation and hoped it wouldn’t hurt the state’s efforts to secure federal funding for rebuilding homes damaged by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Dear David and Ted,

Stick to little boys instead.  They’re not old enough to drive or vote and you can text message them all day.

Love,
Markus XOXO

P.S. Ted, call me sweetie.

Dear David,

Isn’t OUR God great?  I’m really happy that God has forgiven you, too!  Now, let’s get back to judging others and practicing hateful intolerance.

Love,
Ted

P.S.  If you’re ever in Colorado, give me a call!  I want to take you to this unique “spa” I go to frequently.

So, US Rep. Foley, a “family values” Republican, had to leave the House after revelations that he made lewd propositions to minors.  Now we discover that US Senator Vitter, while haranguing about the aforementioned values, had a rather prominent skeleton in his closet: he liked to hump prostitutes.  Naturally, God has forgiven him, but one must wonder if his pious constituents will do the same.  I hope not.

Don’t you just love the delicious irony of the fact that Vitter first got into Congress by taking the seat vacated by Bob Livingston, the Louisiana Rethuglican who was SUPPOSED to take the leadership spot of adulterous Newt Gingrich. Except that Livingston ALSO had to resign when HE was caught boinking someone who was not his wife! And here comes the adultery again…

You’da thunk he woulda learnt from hiz elders that he shoulda kept the snake in the trousers. But so far, Vitter doesn’t even have the decency to resign in shame like Newt and Livingston. So he’s actually more SHAMELESS than them!

For all the crap Democrats (often deservedy) get about having their zippers down all the time, this guy gets nabbed and all of a sudden God is part of the discussion. Hey, guy, you got caught screwing a hooker. Spare us the sermon, we can get that from a guy who probably DIDN’T just get caught screwing a hooker, if we want one.

GW, it would be easy to have the same things happening here. Just turn things over to the dominionists who want to install a theocracy and Bob’s your uncle! You got it! And they will do the deciding for us as to who is corrupt and needs to be eliminated.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to leave every to manage or mismanage their own private lives and focus on the important things like deciding we are respectors of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to the point that we are going to eschew the destruction of societies and the mass killing of our fellow world citizens, even if it does affect the “bottom line” of our over-rated American Way Of Life?

Ya know, what pisses me off most about these people (Vittner, Haggard, et al) is not necessarily the activity, or even the initial denials of the activity. The private affairs of consenting adults don’t necessarily cloud my views of their morals or their politics.

What gauls me most is that WHILE engaging in these activities, they espouse a so-called moral high ground, pointing fingers at the sinners, criticizing others’ behaviors, holding the Bible high in the sky and preaching their strong support of the Republican Party’s family values.

It’s the height of hypocrisy.

Quit complaining. These moral majority types usually get caught having sex with little kids. This particular hypocrite deserves high marks, compared to his other moral brethren, just for choosing an adult to fornicate with.

As soon as he gets a refund from Satan for selling his soul, God will cancel the senator’s trip to Hell and give him a ticket to Heaven.

Only republicans can work these deals, you know.

What a hypocrite. He had called for Clinton’s resignation and his wife had said it if Vitter did anything like what Clinton did, she would pull a Bobbit on him. What happed? I guess he called her bluff eh?

I suggest that the senator recall the standards he had applied to others and apply them on himself- step down.

WE SHOULD TAKE A HINT:

By Dune Lawrence July 10 (Bloomberg)—China executed its former chief drug regulator for taking bribes in a crackdown on fake medicine, a warning that the country intends to deal sternly with corruption.

Corruption:
-Moral perversion; impairment of virtue and moral principles.
-Destroying someone’s honesty or loyalty; undermining moral integrity.
-Lack of integrity or honesty; use of a position of trust for dishonest gain.

AND CONGRESS IS AFRAID TO IMPEACH ... SHEESH!

Oh, but Lefty...please remember that Vitter isn’t asking for our forgiveness. He has the added audacity of telling us he’s ALREADY RECEIVED forgiveness! But your point is spot on...these revelations, pleas for forgiveness (and statements that they’ve already been forgiven) only come after they’ve been busted.

Hypocritical jackasses all.

Gotta love these guys. I really shouldn’t risk giving them any ideas, but if they had real chutzpa, they’d say, “I am forgiven by God and my wife, but if only there had been some good sound moralistic legislation to prevent me from sinning in the first place, I would never have had to ask this forgiveness.”

So, there you have it. Senator Vitter has already asked for “and received” God’s forgiveness. This is as much as to tell us this case is closed.

Such bald-faced hypocrisy, screwing around and then jumping behind the Bible when his actions are uncovered. Reminds me of Ted Haggard’s “forgiveness.”

Such hypocrisy. Such BS.
