Spotlight on Doctors in UK Bomb Plots

The mother of Dr. Mohammed Asha, one of the eight arrested suspects in the recent UK terror plot, holds up his photo in Jordan.

This report from Britain’s The Independent cases out the identities of the men and one woman associated with the recent attempted attacks in London and Glasgow, revealing some of their names, possible motives and backgrounds.  A noteworthy detail: Five of the eight people arrested are doctors.

The Independent:

Following the link between the attacks in London and Glasgow, control of the investigation was transferred to Scotland Yard. With the security alert staying at the highest possible level and warnings that another attack may be “imminent”, police carried out 19 raids across the country, arresting nationals from Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Among those arrested was Mohammed Jamil Abdelqader Asha, a 26-year-old neurologist who was born in Saudi Arabia but is of Palestinian origin and was travelling on a Jordanian passport. He and his 27-year-old wife, a medical assistant, were arrested on the M6 in Cheshire, in connection with the attempted bombings in London.

ardee, it’s not an attempt to communicate - that’s clearly beyond any measure of reasonable expectation - it’s an exercise in poetic polemics...the metaphor is the message and visa versa

Ah, Lefty, how you trail the stench of gratuitous invective, like “...nepalm in the morning...” the weapon of choice in Vietnam, 2nd only to Agent Orange, recently replaced by Depleted Uranium in the current theatre of the 3rd-World War.

If the stranglove neocon cabal, driven by Nietzschien craving for endless war, can manage to expand their Middle East adventure into Iran and Syria they may manage to spread around enough DU to make the entire region uninhabitable for a thousand years — someone’s vision of Paradise?

60 years ago is about when the global finance oligarchs started waging serious war on the 3rd World. Israel is a puppet in this deadly game as are many other little presumably sovereign states.

Any head of state that refuses to cooperate is soon visited by an economic hit man, who offers a deal that shouldn’t be refused. By refusing the deal the potentate seals his, his families, perhaps even his nation’s fate — a fate that may come in many forms. Terrorism is the most common.

Lefty’s ad hominem attacks (name calling) betray the paucity of his/her semblance of polemic discourse. Actually, it’s so weak, it suggests the possibility of intentionally discrediting the position, or of intentional provocation designed to elicit strong, convincing rebuttals. If so, it’s working.

Probably though, Lefty’s on assignment. The abject failure here should certainly be brought to the handler’s attention: either issue new orders, advise retraining, or something to save the poor tax-payers the wasted effort — an effort dismally misguided.

At day’s end, you must remember this:

Many folks out on the outside edge, with enemies inside the British Empire felt the same. The Irish Republican Army worked for Hitler throughout WW II, and we don’t hold that against today’s Irish Catholic Immigrants.

“How fortunate for the Insurance and Drug Industry here in the United States.

Just when “Sicko” begins to jolt a few hundred thousand sick people into realizing said Insurance and Drug Cartels are making them sicker, along comes a “terrorist” attack in a nation where said Insurance and Drug Cartels have to stand in line behind the universal health care provided for everybody.

Of course no-one here in the good old US of A is going to want single-payer universal health care now, because it breeds terrorist Doctors. Proving once again ... every stupid stunt the “real” terrorists stage will be totally sucked up by the equally stupid “be afraid, be very afraid” repubs.”

And was my fantasy version of a potential fantasy a group of fantasy loving right-wingers might create and repeat as truth in an effort to somehow validate their leaders bad-mouthing the possibility that we the people might actually want single payer health care in favor of Insurance/Drug Cartel control of our choices. So, if you were confused already, I apologize if I have confused you even more!

“ ... in heaven Allah, on earth Hitler”
Well that’s believable ...
[Right ... and I own the State of Delaware in case anyone wants to buy stock in it]

The Arab world is non-secular. In other words their history, governments, traditions and social orders are all based on the leading principles of their religion. Islam. They follow the lead of their respective tribal and/or Muslim leaders.

Hitler was an avowed Christian, albeit he did alter Christianity to suit his own needs. Hitler also embraced a philosophy of military/corporate might. The complete antithesis to the typical Moslem governmental structure during Hitler’s era and still!

That is so totally NOT believable!

In recent history, there was one exception that proved the rule ... Saddam’s Iraq.

We took care of that didn’t we ...

“John Gunther of Inside Asia reported: “The greatest contemporary Arab hero is probably Hitler.”

Ooops! Somebody better let the Administrations Department of Lies and Propaganda know ...

They think Osama bin-Laden is the hero of choice!

[Believable because he shuns Capitalism, abhors military/corporate might and Christianity, and he is Moslem]

John Gunther “may” have defined Hitler as “probably” the greatest contemporary Arab Hero in 1939, when he wrote “Inside Asia” But any personal encounter he may have had as a reporter while working in Europe and Asia hardly qualifies as defining the thought process of an entire Arab/Muslim culture, which he apparently never did report on, or live with.

Not to discredit his writings about Hitler,
[The High Cost of Hitler, 1939] but to challenge this “quoted” observation about Arabs.

There may very well have been Nazi cells in Egypt and elsewhere. That’s believable, because there were thousands here! But to represent a handful of radicals as representative of a culture is irresponsible!

“Towards the end of World War II, Sadat wrote to the Fuhrer: “My dear Hitler, I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart. Even if you appear to have been defeated, in reality you are the victor. You succeeded in creating dissensions between Churchill, the old man, and his allies, the Sons of Satan.” [If in fact this is true, which I seriously doubt, he was no doubt referring to the English/American/European capitalists busy trying to remake the Middle East for their profit, even way back then.]

Was this the same Sadat that said:

“Most people seek after what they do not possess and are enslaved by the very things they want to acquire.”

And ...

“Peace is more precious than a piece of land....”

How about this?

A letter from Prescott Bush, “My dear Hitler, I just want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to make a fortune while functioning as a banker managing the transfer of money to fund your great ambition.”

OK! I JUST MADE THAT LETTER UP!

Which leads to the very valid question ... Just because someone says something ... is it so?

Similarly, one could ask ... Just because one calls oneself Lefty, does that ‘one’ adequately represent the entire breadth of philosophy defined as left?

Arab terrorists and suicide bombers purposely target innocent Israeli women and children.  It’s hard to have any sympathy for them when Israel fights back.

==========It’s widely known that most of these bombings are MOSSAD false flag provocations — moreover, the Fetah / Hamas conflict is clearly instigated by infiltrated provocateurs — the chaos we see engulfing the Middle East is a long-term Strategy of Tension — a virtual replica of GLADIO — the myth of Islamofascism has replaced the myth of Monolithic Communism — the so-called sovereign state of Israel is as much a puppet as any player in the mix — the myth of a religiously based conflict is at the heart of this Strategy of Tension — the goal is to fail every state in the Middle East, fail them to the point of total desperation — a desperation that will cause one and all to beg for any “peacekeeping” the hegemons offer.

The hideously lethal weapon of false flag terror must be ripped from the grip of the hegemonic cabal of global finance oligarchs and their operatives, broken before their faces and denied to them as a source of chaotic defeat of working people — the Global War Of Terror is not left/right, east/west, Muslim/Christian/Jew; it is UP vs. DOWN.

This post has he-said she-said so often I can hardly make sense of it.

Here in depopulated Downeast Maine we have two hospitals within 100 miles. although the general population is listed in census figures as 99.2% caucasian, we have at least half-a-dozen Muslim doctors.  add to that two from India, one from Vietnam, and five from Communist China, and they become the majority of medical professionals in our poor, cold, non-diverse county.

The CIA does indeed have a motto.
Inscribed in stone just inside the front door :

“And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.”

While, “By deception thou shalt make war” sounds pretty darn awfull, that other one is really much more chilling ... because it rings like the clarion bell calling all hypocrites to the ramparts.

However, like corruption everywhere, I blame the leaders.
In the Pentagon, in the CIA, in the Justice Department, in the Churches, in the Congress and in the White House. The leaders set the tone, devise the policy and give the orders.

And, we put them there!
Go figure ...

Opps! The following comment went by mistake to another thread. This is the righful place for it; I apologize for the mistake, and I am glad it was not a bomb… so no collateral damage resulted!
======
I am sure this piece of information was circulated around on these threads before. However, every time there is high profile terrorist act or an attempt at a terrorist operation, one must always think about the Israeli connection, the CIA and the British secret service; whatever that is.  9/11 was a necessary prelude for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and last year’s terrorist operation in London and these so-called latest attempts are also other necessary preludes for what they are going to do to Muslims in the U.K. and elsewhere.

The Mossad Zionist motto is:

“By way of deception we will wage war.”

We know that the CIA in particular has been involved in political assassinations, overthrowing nationalist government and setting-up terrorist acts when it saw expedient to do so in many countries. Israel’s Mossad is even worse than the CIA when it comes to spreading mischief and violence on earth. They are the unparallel masters in this art of secret terrorist wars.

The CIA does these terrorist acts in secret. They don’t have an openly declared motto about what they do. The Israelis in defiance of all moral and legal principles the world has known declare:

“By way of deception we will wage war.”

Why the world media, academia, and Western political circles never take the time to discuss this statement and analyze its implication for war, chaos, terrorism and evil in the world?!

And furthermore, why there is always this big hype in the West about Iran’s or South Korea’s nuclear intentions and their implications for world insecurity, while Israel’s weapons of mass destruction, including 200 nuclear bombs are never mentioned by Western politicians?! And they will always have to repeat the hollow and meaningless words of “they hate us for our freedoms and democracy.”

Shit, big shit! It’s our hypocrisy, split vision, militarism and secret terrorism that they hate us for, stupid! And they are justified in that hate, especially that everyone of us, through our tax-payer money, have innocent blood on our hands!

This whole comment was very much on the mark, and I particularly appreciate you tracking the “official” story, which turns out that the only person so far charged, (or actually connected) is NOT a doctor!! And, I’d bet dollars to donuts that they do not have any connection with this, besides those cell phones.

We keep seeing this happening over and over and over again. All since the “war on terror” began.

C Quil already made the point...why would these doctors do a “remote control” sloppy car bomb, when if they really wanted to do some damage, they could do far more in their capacity as doctors.

And the reason this has been allowed to go on for so long, is what atheo already said:

So, that’s just ONE of the reasons, but let me tell you, it’s been a very effective one. It literally SILENCES folks. Once the blacklisting begins, and the rest kicks in....well, what can a person with a destroyed career and no money really do? It’s one of their favorite tactics, and they use it ruthlessly, (even on folks who aren’t anywhere close to being a “threat” to their power...or one wouldn’t assume so).

Year before: 7/7 bombing (tragically kills 54 in the London Tube exactly at the moment an anti-terror drill is supposed to be “replicating” exactly the real incident in exactly the same place).

Fortunately in the commonwealth of Virginia there was no flipped-live incident in April. Also attracts lots of students in training who are willing to relocate for the training if the country they are relocating too promises to pay the cost of training.

As any thinking and informed right winger can tell you, all Muslims are Jihad(ists). Therefore, anyone from the Middle East who looks like an Arab, belongs to the Muslim religion and wants to take advantage of the need for more skilled and trained health-care providers who are willing to work for less responds to the call. But, since they are all actually Jihad(ists), they don’t care about the training or the work. They only want the opportunity to kill us! Therefore government sponsored health care which by it’s very nature must assist in the training to get folks into the training, allows those nasty Jihad(ists) into the country thereby putting all good right-wingers in jeopardy.

Ergo ... they would never be allowed into the country if the private Insurance/Drug Cartel ran the health care industry, because they could never afford the cost of medical training. And besides, as every good right-winger knows, privatization is “free” enterprise, which is Capitalism therefore is more efficient and run better for the benefit of all, while big government taxes and taxes and then screws up everything.

And of course they have no idea how much privatized “free” enterprise Capitalism rips off the taxpayer and screws up society, and how truly BIG their form of government has become, because that information is not included in their literature, blogs or mind-set.

Besides, their God favors Capitalism over peoples needs every time.

Omop,

Perhaps this will explain part of the problem:

James Petras:

In contrast to the successful vast propaganda, congressional and media campaigns, organized and funded by the pro-Israel lobbies for the war policies, there is no public record of the big oil companies supporting the Iraq war, the Israeli invasion of Lebanon or the military threats of preemptive attacks on Iran. Interviews with investment bankers, oil company executives and a thorough review of the major Petroleum Institute publications over the past seven years provide conclusive evidence that ‘Big Oil’ was deeply interested in negotiating oil agreements with Saddam Hussein and the Iranian Islamic government. ‘Big Oil’ perceives US Middle East wars as a threat to their long-standing profitable relations with all the conservative Arab oil states in the Gulf. Despite the strategic position in the US economy and their great wealth ‘‘Big Oil’ was totally incapable of countering their political power and organized influence of the pro-Israel lobby. In fact Big Oil was totally marginalized by the White House National Security Advisor for the Middle East, Elliot Abrams, a fanatical Zionist and militarist.

Despite the massive and sustained pro-war activity of the leading Zionist organizations inside and outside of the government and despite the absence of any overt or covert pro-war campaign by ‘Big Oil’, the leaders of the US peace movement have refused to attack the pro-Israel war lobby and continue to mouth unfounded clichés about the role of ‘Big Oil’ in the Middle East conflicts.

The apparently ‘radical’ slogans against the oil industry by some leading intellectual critics of the war has served as a ‘cover’ to avoid the much more challenging task of taking on the powerful, Zionist lobby. There are several reasons for the failure of the leaders of the peace movement to confront the militant Zionist lobby. One is fear of the powerful propaganda and smear campaign which the pro-Israel lobby is expert at mounting, with its aggressive accusations of ‘anti-Semitism’ and its capacity to blacklist critics, leading to job loss, career destruction, public abuse and death threats.

The second reason that peace leaders fail to criticize the leading pro-war lobby is because of the influence of pro-Israel ‘progressives’ in the movement. These progressives condition their support of ‘peace in Iraq’ only if the movement does not criticize the pro-war Israel lobby in and outside the US government, the role of Israel as a belligerent partner to the US in Lebanon, Palestine and Kurdish Northern Iraq. A movement claiming to be in favor of peace, which refuses to attack the main proponents of war, is pursuing irrelevance: it deflects attention from the pro-Israel high officials in the government and the lobbyists in Congress who back the war and set the White House’s Middle East agenda. By focusing attention exclusively on President Bush, the peace leaders failed to confront the majority pro-Israel Democratic congress people who fund Bush’s war, back his escalation of troops and give unconditional support to Israel’s military option for Iran.

I would like a source on this.  When I was young, bombs in churches, homes, and black-owned businesses numbered in the thousands. The city of Birmingham Alabama was jokingly referred to as “bombingham”.

http://www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/database/article_disp lay.cfm?HHID=365

later protest groups bombed “for peace” Universities, selective service offices, Banks, and businesses they felt were “unclean.”

We’ve got “American Nazis” “Citizen Militia” and just plain folk (like Terry McViegh) who feel a bomb is worth 1000 words.

Bet Britian and us are fairly close on number of bombings.... and I’m not even counting the off shore targeting of our citizens and interests.

Is not the expected end result the same?

How fortunate for the Insurance and Drug Industry here in the United States.

Proving once again ... every stupid stunt the “real” terrorists stage will be totally sucked up by the equally stupid “be afraid, be very afraid” repubs.

Oh I know ...

I’m being unfair and prejudicial. Not ALL republicans are stupid.
Sometimes it just looks that way.

Actually, stupidity is not the exclusive property of republicans.
Our equal opportunity congress proves that.

Terrorist social networks
by xymphora

The Official Story of the capture of the London terror cell is that it was assembled by the authorities through following tracks from the cell phone in the car that didn’t blow up.  The terrorists were supposed to trigger the ‘bomb’ by phoning the cell phone, but despite repeated calls, the car failed to explode.  The authorities tracked the calls back to one or two suspects, and then followed cell phone, email and text messages to round up the rest.

Most of the people rounded up were doctors, or associated with the medical profession, so the cell became known in the media as a conspiracy of doctors.  The fact that the alleged main guy, the only one charged to date, was not a medical doctor puts a bit of a kink in the theory.  In fact, what linked the ‘cell’ was the fact that they were all Muslim professionals who were recent immigrants and associated with the same medical or educational institutions.  These is no reason to believe that the mere fact they were in a social network with the one accused guy proved that they were part of any kind of terrorist group.

You can’t fault the police for following up the leads, but you can fault the authorities for rushing to judgment and turning this into a massive terrorist conspiracy before all the information was in.  A large group of suspects is in custody.  Their lives and careers are in ruins solely on the basis of having some kind of technological connection with the accused, a fact that can have many completely innocent explanations.  Had the first suspect been a white Christian bank robber, none of this wider analysis of the cell would have occurred.  The police may have followed up on his contacts, but they would not have automatically assumed that contact proved some sort of participation in a bank robbing conspiracy.

The fact is that Bibi Netanyahu’s ‘War on Terror’ is, and was intended to be, a war on Islam intended to assist Israel in stealing the lands it intends to steal.  The suspects have been rounded up because they are Muslims, and not for any good reason.  In fact, the British are now talking about putting restrictions on foreign-born doctors, which is a polite way of saying Muslim doctors, even though the doctor part of the alleged conspiracy is falling apart (even more bizarrely, American right-wingers are blaming it all on ‘socialized medicine’!).

I concur with what you say QuyTran. Indeed I believe this is a set-up operation to justify what will come next for Muslims in Britain. It will happen again in the U.S. Evil for evil governments has no limits; it will be always the case of ends that justify the means.

This evil Lefty is surfacing again with his crude hate and devilish thoughts!

If those doctors were to ever be allowed to speak publicly and to the media, then we might learn some of the truth.

When I heard they were doctors, I wondered why they decided to use car bombs to make a point. You would think they could do far more damage in their roles as health professionals.

It probably wouldn’t involve explosions and fire but the potential for disaster could be far greater.

This should not be taken as a suggestion. The whole thing just didn’t make sense to me.

There is something important to be learned from the methodology used by Great Britain in combatting terrorism. This nation, who has had more bombs exploded within it than ever has the USA, this nation which had been saddled with the decades of IRA strife and now fights another form of terrorism approaches the task very differently than does Bush and company.

Instead of creating some Orwellian and mind bogglingly inefficient “Dept of Homeland Security” which sucks vast sums of money and resources from the FBI and state and local investigative bodies, Britain uses plain old fashioned police work to thwart such plots.

Now why didnt we think of that?

Oh and Lefty (?), If we extrapolate your reasoning (?) to its logical conclusion then Barbara Bush should be under a jail, and your mom would be hiring some lawyers right at this moment.

“A noteworthy detail: Five of the eight people arrested are doctors.” What the hell is so noteworthy about that?  I saw through the Dr. thing long ago.

I’m with Quy, I don’t trust this. I think it smells, and I did read the entire linked piece, and I believe that they might have collected more people than really have anything to do with this.

It’s also not entirely clear that it was actually a “suicide” operation.

But, I do hope that the Brits will in fact hold some trials, as Thomas Bills suggested might happen. (far better chance than it happening here).

So, maybe we will in fact learn something new. Some truth.

Quote #84923 by QuyTran on 7/07 at 6:41 pm: “...I don’t trust any pieces of this propaganda campaign....”

A few months ahead of a federal election, the Australian authorities are making the most of harassing Asian people working there on temporary visas. Several Indian doctors working in public hospitals there were detained and questioned for several days. One, a registrar at the Gold Coast hospital near Brisbane is believed to related to the two bombers in Glasgow. Some were working in Britain before going to Australia. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,220 31760-601,00.html

It has been suggested today in Britain that the bombs there were triggered by cell phones from Australia. Then again, it is also interesting to note that Australia was once a covert training ground for a Yugoslav/Croation “Ustashi” violent secessionist movement in the 1970’s. Like Hizb ut-Tahrir, they were a nationalist organization which sought to create a separate Croatian state - but by any means.

Additionaly, though, Australians have been sacndalised by an earlier incident involving rogue surgeon Jayant Patel known as “Dr. Death”, an Indian who is living in Oregon, and is facing charges in the state of Queensland relating to 17 deaths which occurred during his two years as director of surgery at Bundaberg Hospital North of Brisbane. His arrest and extradition from the USA is being awaited. http://www.theage.com.au/news/National/Queenslands-Dr- Death-linked-to-80-deaths/2005/05/24/1116700709781.html

As Hitchens reports: “Religion poisons everything.”

There is something seriously short-circuited in the “wiring” in the brains of humans who are “fundamentalists” or “fanatics.” For some unfathomable reason once the disease of “religion” takes serious hold, all sense of balance, fair play, honesty and respect for the lives and property of others goes out the window.

Any religious leaders who, from their “pulpits,” advise, condone or incite followers to take “action” against ANYONE for any reason, should be immediately arrested and charged with serious crimes against humanity.

Believing in a diety and following some religious doctrines is one thing. Overstepping the bounds of civil behavior in the name of that religion is, or should be, a CRIMINAL OFFENCE, and should be prosecuted as such.

These “doctors” should be ashamed of themselves. Millions have been wasted on educating these unbalanced criminals. They should be required to reimburse every damn cent to whatever society paid for their educations and they should NEVER be allowed to practise on so much as a termite!
