Putin and Bush
news.bbc.co.uk

President Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin once gazed into each other’s eyes and each found a friend, but developments with a proposed missile defense shield, Iran and Kosovo have strained the relationship. So the two have scheduled some male-bonding time at the Bush family resort in Kennebunkport, Maine, where they’ll try to relieve some of their tension by fishing.

BBC:

As Mr Putin arrived, more than 1,000 demonstrators protested nearby, criticising his policy on Chechnya and calling for Mr Bush to be impeached over the war in Iraq.

Officials have stressed that the meeting between the two leaders is informal, and the two men are expected to go fishing.

Before he left Russia, Mr Putin said he was looking forward to “friendly” talks with Mr Bush.

Putin caught a fish but Dubya didn’t know how to put the bait on the hook.  And then Daddybush sped away in his blue and white speed boat.

I wonder if they discussed Blill Clinton’s recently aired (but barely reported), personal views on the Missile Defence Shield?

Yes, they are hardly a match. But note that Daddy Bush was on hand for this one, probably never let them be alone together. He knew Putin was way more than little Georgie can handle; he probably sent Jr. away so the grown-ups could talk.

Bush is foolish, and truly believes looking into Putins eyes, he can know the man’s heart and soul. Putin wasn’t a spy who survived by being stupid. Bush is stupid to think he can get over on Putin.Putin is totally in charge and playing Bush like a miniture violin as Bush gazes into the man’s eyes. We can only hope the democrats grow a set of b_ _ ls and put Bush and Cheney in prison before they further damage our country.

Recall that western leaders were telling us for years that trading and trying to engage with authoritarian states would eventually make them more like ours.

I have little doubt that authoritarian leaders were saying the same thing.

Let’s hope that they can trade horses. To expect anything more is naive.

Maybe he will look into Putins soul and realize he is looking into a mirror. Both are trying to undermine democracy in their respective countries by pushing fear. The big difference is that Bush is an idiot and Putin is smart.Maybe we could trade Bush for Putin and Dick Cheney would end up in the Gulag he so richly deserves.Just kidding if after tuesday we are not at war with the Soviet Union it will be a victory for our foreign policy.
