U.N. Peacekeepers Killed in Lebanon

Posted on Jun 24, 2007

Six U.N. peacekeepers from the Spanish army were killed Sunday when their vehicle was attacked with an explosive device. Condoleezza Rice, her French and Spanish counterparts and even Hezbollah have all condemned the attack. No one has claimed responsibility. Tensions have been high in Lebanon with Lebanese forces battling an extremist militant group for over a month.

Sunday’s explosion took place between the towns of Khiyam and Marjeyoun, near the border with Israel in the area of operation of UN peacekeepers.

A convoy of armoured UN vehicles from a Spanish battalion was hit by the blast.

It was initially unclear what caused the explosion.

Hassan Nasrallah: February speach

Regarding the UNIFIL troops:

The “neo-forecasters” have been forecasting for the past two month assassinations and explosions.Their forecasting seems always to be in place. It’s been more than two months now that they have been forecasting that something would happen in the South targeting the UNIFIL forces. Either they are themselves preparing something that they will execute against the UNIFIL or they are summoning someone from abroad who will execute an operation against the UNIFIL. There seems to be insistence on their part regarding this “prophesy”. It’s been about 2 months now… and they still insist. Of course we know that if something happens to the UNIFIL in the South, who is going immediately to be blamed? Hezbollah of course. Hezbollah attacked the UNIFIL.  Hezbollah wants this. Hezbollah wants that. Either way, they’ve been preparing something there…

I am telling you very clearly that there are those who are presently working at creating a climate of tension and confrontation between the Resistance and UNIFIL… in exactly the same manner as they always tried to create tension between the Resistance and the army.

In what concerns the UNIFIL, I want to repeat what I said before as many people seem to be bringing this issue up lately. When the UNIFIL came to Lebanon, they didn’t come against our will. Some countries contacted us and informed us of their wish to come and we informed them that the circumstances might not be the best as a result of the present atmosphere in the country and the givens of Iraq… and indeed they respected this advice. The countries that came here, they all contacted us. They contacted our brothers in the Amal movement. They of course contacted the state… and we agreed to those countries. And when they contacted us…aside of the UN resolution which they didn’t consider as their guarantee, they took from us assurances regarding the presence of their forces on our territories and in our country. We informed them that we would not harm those forces in any way and we stand by our word. We fulfill our pledges and promises. There is no problem between us and the UNIFIL and we are not complaining about or disapproving the presence of the UNIFIL. When we have any observations to make in regards to performance, we do so through the state and we do so directly. We don’t only do it through the state, we also do it directly with the concerned countries. We tell them our observations and they work on addressing them. Until now we always get positive feedback from the countries participating in the UNIFIL. They are cooperative in addressing those observations because certain concerns can be undertaken by officers or soldiers of the UNIFIL as a result of them having been recruited by an Israeli party. The concerned state does not take responsibility for what that officer or soldier did. When we thus make our observations, matters can be immediately addressed.

In what concerns the UNIFIL we have to be careful. Any inciting or provocative material coming out of media sources should be verified, double-checked and corroborated and handled through diplomatic and political channels. It is not in Lebanon’s interest or the interest of the South or the Resistance that there should be any problems between the UNIFIL and the Resistance or the UNIFIL and the inhabitants of the region. This should be very clear. However, if there are domestic (internal) elements who wish to create strife or to target the UNIFIL, then of course we know that when an “accident” happens, the accused is ready to be pointed at.This is our true and responsible position towards the UNIFIL.

Right, faceeless.

Nobody knows what Osama Bin Laden looks like. Or Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Or Ayman Al Zawahiri. Or the 9-11 perps. Or hundreds of other Al Qaeda terrorists in Guantanamo…......

You know, if I didn’t know you better, I’d think your comment was giving Al Qaeda a free pass.

I agree with the exception of the oil rationale. Lebanon has none. We have to face the fact that Israel is pursuing Eretz Israel which extends from the Nile to the Euphrates, we also the to face the reality that the Israel lobby has taken control of US foreign policy. History is replete with examples of small groups or communities using large empires for their seperate goals. The Genoese got the Spaniards to conquer practically an entire hemisphere for the benefit of Genoese capital expansion through finance. The Brittish empire was built with capital from Amsterdam and served the wealthy Dutch well. US empire building in the latter half of the 19th century was financed from London. Will US military force be used to cleanse the middle east for zionist expansion? It has been right along for some decades already. Oil is easily obtained, plentiful, impossible to corner, and cheap. Land for a racially pure nation on the other hand requires the type of actions we see fomented by Israel and the Israel lobby that dominates the US Federal government and our media and think tanks.

I think you’re right. It’s yet another false flag operation, to be attributed to the faceless “al-Qaeda”.

It’s all very chilling, because it’s been an intricately set up network, with total destruction at it’s core.

In US “policy language”, it’s called “Re-modeling the Middle East”, or various other changing slogans.

But in reality, it’s more of a “tear down” whatever is there, (land, people, structures, infrastructures, the total enviornment) and then once everything is cleared out, they start from scratch, and all of that oil is much easier to get to then.

Inciting groups of people to kill each other is such an old technique, and damn if it doesn’t continue to be effective. I hate that.

7.) FSB (ex-KGB) behind 1999 bombings in Russia’
Publica | 05.03.2002 23:14 See source:

“FSB (ex-KGB) was behind the apartment bloc bombings that were carried out in Russia in September 1999”, says Boris Berezovsky, a former Kremlin insider who has since fallen out with the Putin government.

Nikita Chegulain, a former undercover agent of the antiterrorist division of the FSB, said he possessed documentary evidence that proved that highly explosive hexogen was withdrawn from military bases and distributed secretely to regional organisations. He incriminates top government officials in the coverup; independent investigations have so far been blocked.

The panel brought attention to already known facts about a foiled explosion in Ryazan on 22 September 1999. The FSB was forced to admit that it had planted the device, when phonecalls amongst its agents were intercepted. Yet, simultaneously, head of the FSB Patrushev claimed that the explosives were actually sugar and that this was part of a so-called security exercise.

This sharply contradicts the version of the local police force which had determined that the substance was hexogen and that the detonator equipment was real and set for 5.30am © “the clock was ticking”. Four explosives experts from Britain and France recently examined the available evidence from the Ryazan incident and concluded that the bomb was authentic.
