Reid and Bush
needlenose.com

Pull my finger: Harry Reid has been a reluctant hand-shaker with the president, but the two have set aside their differences to work on immigration reform.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and President Bush are determined to push through the ailing immigration reform bill, despite heavy opposition from both sides of the aisle.  Reid, who has partnered with Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, said Democrats would work through the July 4 recess if necessary.

New York Times:

WASHINGTON, June 15—President Bush and Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the Democratic majority leader, pledged today to work for passage of the suddenly revived immigration bill, with Mr. Reid saying Senate Democrats would sacrifice their Fourth of July break, if necessary.

“Each day our nation fails to act, the problem only grows worse,” Mr. Bush said at the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast here. “I will continue to work closely with members of both parties to get past our differences and pass a bill I can sign this year.”

Mr. Reid, speaking the day after he and his Republican counterpart announced an agreement on bringing the bill back to the Senate floor, said: “We hope the president will work with us, and that Congressional Republicans will not stall our efforts to strengthen our national security and economy. If they do, Democrats are prepared to work through the weekends and the July 4 district work period [recess] to accomplish our goals.”

What seems to be missing from the immigration discussion is an understanding of life along the US-Mexico border.

Most Americans have no idea what it is like, and it is different along many different regions of the US-Mexico line.

The new HBO show, “John from Cincinnati,” takes place on the US-Mexico border in far southern San Diego County. Maybe this show will bring some perspectives about the border region.

Referring to these two degenerates as “the odd couple”, exposes and perpetuates a steadfast naivety. There’s nothing odd about them. Nothing odd about the two parties sharing the burden of transforming Americans into slaves. Circle jerk politics is so ingrained that we don’t even recognize it. The two great leaders pictured here probably represent less than 25% of American citizens. They both deserve impeachment.

Bush,Reid, and where is the other stooge in this picture, Ted Kennedy? He must be behind the camera. The Democracy in the Middle Class are not going to buy this piece of crap. You either secure our borders or do another comedy show.

“Since deporting all illegal immigrants is an unfeasible option”

You don’t have to “deport” 12 to 20 million illegals. All the government has to do is hit employers of illegals with a $10,000 fine per working illegal per day, and the employment attraction would dry up, and the illegals would “self-deport.”

AND

I always love this argument “deporting all illegal immigrants is an unfeasible option” Snaring 40 million speeders is unfeasible. Catching all the people who cheat on their taxes is unfeasible.
Apprehending all the folks who litter, fail to pay child support, or those who steal from their neighbors is also unfeasible. Do you suggest we just throw up our hands and say “Oh shit, we cant catch them all, so lets not catch any?”

No, send them home, to the back of the line, and if they still wish to return LEGALLY, they can start the process ....I understand that doing it the right way takes about 11 years.

20 million people working under the table is a weight our LEGAL workforce can’t stand.

Guess we finally got rid of that other saying “The jobs US citizens won’t do”

They got to do something. This is not amnesty. You are being fined for a deportable offense. You do not go to jail as an illegal immigrant. The corporations would prefer the status quo.Taking the 12 million out of the shadows and making them legal gives them all sorts of workplace rights that they would not normally have and corporations would not prefer to pay for.Since deporting all illegal immigrants is an unfeasible option. What alternatives do you suggest if this bill is unacceptable?

There’s that hand shake gesture again!

Now you tell me that extended arm doesn’t look like a phallic symbol? and Reid, Democrats and the American people are about to get!

This bill is not good for the american people .  It should be DOA.

This is the best thing in the world for republicans.  Bush knows this will turn the voters back to the republicans who are not for this bill and against the democrats whom we just voted in.  I know I’m going back and will vote republican across the board. The democrats, Kennedy, Klobuchar, Hary Weed, and any others who vote for this bill are traitors in my mind.

Suprise! Suprise!...there’s not much difference between the Democratic party and the Republican party….

Bush’s desperation to pass this bill and Reids to help him out to give every American nightmares..

When Bu$h and Reid agree on something, it can’t be good for the American people and this bill is no exception. But corporate money talks, so bend over America here comes amnesty. In a country where everything is for sale, it was only a matter of time until our corporate shills got around to selling our citizenship.

Nothing but a total sellout of the American people. The Democrats don’t have the guts to buck Bush on the War or Immigration. All cowards selling out for greedy bucks from big business.

How many of you shop at Walmart? Buy General Mills cereal? Buy Ford’s compact cars? Wear Levi Jeans? Wear sneakers? Hanes underware, or Fruit of The Loom?

The traitors, sell-outs, and enablers are us folks. China is building up military might with our cheap-blender-dollars. Mexico is making the Jeans (not as well) we used to make in SanFrancisco. Little towns across the States, once defined by their product, and the mill where it was made, are empty.

The politicians are doing what the rest of us have been doing for years. they are looking for….and finding… deals.

This isn’t the country I grew up in…

Reid and Bush are not such an ‘odd couple’.

They share IQ’s equal to their sock sizes.
