Soldier cries
makeshiftblog.wordpress.com

A new study of American veterans who served between 1917 and 1994 found that returning soldiers are more than twice as likely to kill themselves, compared to civilians. While the research did not include veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the overall trend and reports of poor mental health care are cause for concern.

BBC:

Researchers examined data on 320,890 men, of which a third served in the US military between 1917 and 1994.

Men who were white, better educated and older than the other men appeared to be at higher risk, as did those with a physical or emotional disability.

Researchers say the findings emphasise the need for mental health care for those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Blood for oil.  Our soldiers gave their blood for oil.  Thousands of miles away, the bloodthirsty politicians drove their SUV’s to the Congressional vote on whether to support the troops or not. They discussed, they filibustered and the beads of sweat gathered on their foreheads.
The soldiers drove their humvees into another ambush and perished. Georgebush didn’t have a clue as to what went wrong.  There is no rhyme or reason when somebody’s bloodthirsty for OIL.

Multiple tours of duty, extended tours, watching your friends get blown to bits, seeing innocent Iraqis (including children)terribly injured and killed, worrying you might die or lose your arms and/or legs at any minute . . . no wonder our troops are having difficulties. This is normal and natural under the circumstances.

Add to this the growing realization within the military as it is within the country as a whole that the Bush-Cheney administration and their associates twisted intelligence to trigger the invasion and occupation of Iraq. And, that the true purposes of the invasion and occupation are not what was stated publicly.

Devastating to our country and to our morale and to the future generation which has very little to look foward to, thanks to the absolute lack of foresight and leadership of this entire Booshie bushwacked admisnistration.  It’s UNBELIEVABLE and only becomes more-so with every ticking moment !

In the meantime, “Nature” is waging a “war of revenge” on the human race.  The awesome whales and dolphins are beaching themselves (other mammals commiting suicide).  The hard-working honey bees are mysteriously disappearing and our entire food chain is at risk. . .  And yet the infantile Bush and his playmates continue to play War Games—completely oblivious to the extremely grave problems facing the very existence of our Planet Earth.

This very sad but true, more Viet Nam Vets killed them selves than was killed during the whole occupation.
I have seen a bumper sticker that said"IRAQ IS ARABIC FOR VIET NAM"and this is true on so many levels!

I am afraid that the ONLY way to bring the Troops home is to put IMPEACHMENT on the #&@#&%# table Ms.Pelosi and Mr.Reid and filibuster until the Senate and the Congress caves.Get some backbone or you will lose it all in 08!

Gee, ya think?

Every day is an anniversary for me of some really shitty memory. In fact, starting late October, every day for the next three years will be the 40th anniversary of something that was not what you folks would call pleasant.

I will be very surprised if I am still alive by this time in 2010.

Out.

And this article is supposed to be a surprise? To who?
Too bad our “leadership” doesn’t lead by example, we’d all be way better off.
