Sony vs. the Church of EnglandPosted on Jun 10, 2007
Sony Computer Entertainment is in hot water with the Church of England because of a popular video game that simulates a shootout in the Manchester Cathedral. Among other concerns, the church is appalled that Sony would “encourage people to have gun battles” in a city known for gun crime.

this has been updated the church now wants money and calls this a sick game. the only sick game i see here is the one the church has always played; taking advantage of fools and separating them from their money. if this is a sick game, then it is equally sick to say you will forgive something for some quick cash. of course they need the dough to pay off the victims of their sick priests. i don’t recall the fake catholic church of england or it’s idiotic counterpart in rome complaining about “LEFT BEHIND” the let’s all get together and kill all non KKKristians video game, you know the one rushed to release in time for the big KKKristian consumathon known as Xmas. bring out jesus on a dinosaur, make it a T-REX. good thing noah brought one, sorry, two, along.

Back in the fifties and sixties, we watched literally hundreds of murders, assaluts, and even some hand to hand deaths.
Why was our T.V. violence OK and today’s video violence different.
I for one, do not buy this bag o shit.

The CNN story says that Manchester’s gun violence has left “tens of youngsters dead.” I’m wondering if Manchester would be considered to have high gun crime rates by American standards, and seriously doubting it. Maybe tens of gun deaths are as bad as it gets when you can’t get guns? Interesting…

From the story…“We are shocked to see a place of learning, prayer and heritage being presented to the youth market as a location where guns can be fired.”
The church is a place where a book containg stories of child sacrifice and murder, rape, torture and the merciless genocides of hundreds of thousands of people, is worshiped as the ultimate guide to morality. And they have a problem with a simulated gun battle?
And how, exactly, does a story like this bring out a Diana conspiracy comment? Friggen nut-jobs.

The church probably needs to worry about fixing their violence problem before getting a video game removed from the market.
Violent games contribute nothing to the violence of the world.

This little brouhaha probably means that PS3 will not preview their new gigantic blood-and-guts thriller, ‘The Inquisition’, at the Vatican.
