Gingrich Hints at White House BidPosted on May 14, 2007
Reiterating his belief that U.S. troops should withdraw from Iraq “as rapidly as possible,” Newt Gingrich told “Good Morning America” anchor Diane Sawyer on Monday that there is a “great possibility” that he’ll announce his candidacy for president in late September.

“I want to focus on what we have to do to make America successful.” Says Newt ...
Strange comment coming from a man who has dedicated his political career to flushing Americas successes down the toilet.
When I listen to the likes of Gingrich wistfully contemplate the future of America, I think of folks like Rumsfeld and Rove. You know the type.
Rove never would have made it through the front door, if the RNC hadn’t been looking for a liar.
Rumsfeld would have been laughed out of the Pentagon, if Bush and his congress hadn’t been looking for his special brand of chaos to keep their war profits coming.
Gingrich is one of those “good” people coming up short on the goodness scale. His idea of compassion and family values and saving children’s lives is to allow the State to go into the homes of parents deemed (by the State) to be inappropriate and forcefully removing their children, placing them in good Christian homes to be raised properly.
I couldn’t make that up. He made that observation on c-span one morning ... prefaced with, “I dream of the day.”
That particular brand of Christian caring really belongs on the black page of Christian history, in the chapter titled “Things We Never Should Have Done.” Real Christians care enough to try and improve the future by remembering the mistakes of the past.
Not sure what to call Newts brand of Christianity.
What’s in it for me folks?
Destroy a society to save it?
Destroy a family to save it?
How about don’t get caught lying, if you want to live to lie again?
Or, take the money and run?
Fascist maybe.
Certainly not Christian.
We’ve got quite enough of those type candidates already. What makes Gingrich any different, the fact that he claims to oppose the war?
“I want to focus on what we have to do to make America successful.” He says.
I don’t know Newt ... maybe outlaw the republican party?

I can’t imagine many people would vote for Gingrich in the general election, but he might do well in the primaries, since McCain and Giuliani keep self-destrucing, and Mitt Romney is only one step above an atheist.

I believe that Mr. Gingrich is correct in that there needs to be fundamental change in Republican political figures in order to be successful in the election. No presidential candidate, GOP nor Democratic, has stepped out to advocate fighting global poverty and hunger, a pressing issue that 83 percent of Americans want addressed, yet that only one percent of the federal budget is dedicated to. The United States was one of 191 countries that agreed to the 2000 U.N. Millennium Development Goals, one of which is to end worldwide starvation and extreme poverty by 2015; however, our government has not allocated the proper funds it promised to achieve this goal. Presidential candidates must emerge as strong and faithful proponents of U.S. foreign policy transformation in order to not only garner the support of this huge percentage of Americans, but also lead the world to a state of stability and cooperation, a goal which has always been of the utmost importance in our country. Global poverty cannot be ignored any longer - we must be ready for force U.S. leaders to achieve the Millennium Goals!

I find this man to be shamelessly hypocrite and non-sensical though he has been proclaimed as an intellectual by the right wing corporate media. He has nothing to offer to address the problems facing this country...except stupid and arcane references to history to show how smart he is.

Dear Newt,
Do you think we’ll forget you divorced your dying wife so you wouldn’t have to pay her cancer bills? And do you think we haven’t read your snivelling, lying bullshit about being “born again” so gosh, now ALL your sins are forgiven and suddenly you’re a “righteous man” and believe that garbage? Do you believe everyone missed your constant remarking that, “We need to eliminate the First Amendment from the Constitution because it interferes with Christians practicing their religion.”
The answers are incredibly simple:
1) No.
2) No.
3) No.
Appropriately, your mother named you after a slimy, water-dwelling lizard feeding off the offal higher water-dwelling life forms excrete on you and the sludge that accumulates on the bottom of the river.
With most sincere regards,

Like sharks smelling blood among the ET media induced comatose American voters the feeding frenzy has begun. Caligula putting a horse in the Roman Senate was a stroke of genius compared to the never ending parade of cartoon character presidential candidates assualting the American public. Newt, I looked forward to seeing your picture on the side of milk container someday but I guess I’m just not that lucky yet.

The GOP is all on Kool-aid.
Until such time as we straighten out the papertrail-less voting machines he has a chance.

I guess Ginrich is banking on the very short attention span of most of america. Were not supposed to remember that it was he who sheparded in the bug exterminator ( felon ) Delay into the House of Represntitives. It was Ginrich who established the polarization of the Congress long before the Sock Puppet came to the oval office. It was Ginrich who was the leader of the republican majority in the house while the congress did absolutley nothing but continue a relentless witch-hunt of Kenneth Starr after Bill Clinton. Kenneth Starr who among other things is now a chief council to Blackwater, the largest mercenairey group for hire we are using in Iraq ,after Katrina , and wherever else Cheney dirty little wars take them. He is the cheerleader of all thats ugly with politics today, rampant hypocracy at its zenith. But the republicans have nothing to toss out there but slime-ball liars who apparently are willing to say anything, even if its 180 degerees from former exclamations ( like McCain ) , in order to garner some measure of favor from an administration that has proven itself to be a traitorist group of criminals. If there were any decent republicans left after Ginrich, they’ve either sold their soul to Rove or left in discust. Why do you suppose Chuck Hagel, if he decides to run, is thinking of doing it on an independant ticket ? These republicans who are running are as insulated from the common man in this country as this administration. They are all wealthy, they got there by stepping over people and theres no reason to believe any of them is any more interested in the evaporating middle class then the Cheney / Bu$h team.

I wouldn’t call Newt’s potential bid for the presidency a ‘great possibility’, I’d call it a ‘piss-poor probability’, which all of us, other than Leno, Letterman, Stewart et.al., will suffer through.
This is another example of the great damage the current administration has done to this nation, every witless twit, every megalomaniacal moron, every amoral abomination, thinks ‘If the current imbecile can do it, why not me?’
Bush’s most memorable legacy may be the future parade of horse’s asses, like Gingrich, Brownback, Lieberman, e.g., who will be attempting to get the chance to plop their crap all over the oval office.

Amazing....all the vermin of the rescumlican party are slithering out of their slimey holes.
They all have no shame...none.
Now Hagel is hinting at running with Bloomberg.
Romney was horrible on 60 Min last night.
What kind of egos do these schmucks have that makes them even think anyone would vote for them??
Once again, amazing.
The ONLY person running in their camp who I have total respect for is Ron Paul. But he’s not a darling of the MSM, so they act like he’s not even running. He destroyed the rest of them in the debate and will continue to do so. And they’ll still ignore him. But we won’t.

Gingrich, I don’t think this is more than egotist over reaching, by a narcisstic twit. Really would you vote for him even if you are a Republican?
