Sunni Insurgents Say They Have 3 U.S. Hostages

The Sunni insurgent coalition known as the Islamic State in Iraq has claimed responsibility for an attack that led to the deaths of four U.S. soldiers and the purported capture of three more. About 4,000 American troops were dispatched to search for their missing comrades on an especially brutal day in Iraq, with a civilian death toll of more than 124.

AP:

BAGHDAD (AP)—An al-Qaida front group announced Sunday it had captured American soldiers in a deadly attack the day before, as thousands of U.S. troops searched insurgent areas south of Baghdad for their three missing comrades.

The statement came on one of the deadliest days in the country in recent weeks, with at least 124 people killed or found dead. A suicide truck bomb tore through the offices of a Kurdish political party in northern Iraq, killing 50 people, and a car bombing in a crowded Baghdad market killed another 17.

Troops surrounded the town of Youssifiyah and told residents over loudspeakers to stay inside, residents said. They then methodically searched the houses, focusing on possible secret chambers under the floors where the soldiers might be hidden, residents said. The soldiers marked each searched house with a white piece of cloth.

One of the original architects of the Iraq war, Paul Wolfowitz, is letting the soldiers do all the dirty work while he rakes in the money.  But then why should he, or the other Neocons, give a damn about dead grunts or dead Iraqi children, so long as his Stock Portfolio remains healthy.  When you are making that much money, life is way too sweet.

So far as I can see the only “SURGE” going on is the one Paul Wolfowitz is giving his girlfriend.

At last count, how many hostages (prisoners) of theirs do we have?

Someone should arrange a prisoner swap.

We’ve done it with captured spys for years so I done want to hear the same old BS about negociating with “terrorists”.  Its their country and we’re violating their bill of rights.

That surge sure seems to be working doesn’t it? Al-Qaeda has really been quelled by the surge and the Iraqi troops seem to be really kicking insurgent butt! Or not.

CBS had a pretty good report on the capture:

For Whom the bell told ? For these unlucky young men for this criminal administration which pushed our troops in dead ends without ways to survive ?

Not to worry.  When the last brigade of the “surge” reports for duty next month everything will be okay; victory will be ours; and pregnant elephants will fly.

Let us pray that they do not have an Alberto Gonzales who thinks the Geneva Convention is antiquated. With the new surge stategy of putting more soldiers deeper into Baghdad this problem of prisoners is going to get larger. What moral ground can we stand on?
It is inconceivable that they can capture our guys and Bin Laden is still the king of the DVD.
Here is an idea let us do a swap.George Bush and Dick Cheney for these three kids.If a sweetener is necessary let us throw in Condi Rice. Finally they will be able to say that they are finally supporting the troops.

Would that the do-nothing members of Congress and the do-nothing occupant of the White House could suffer the same fate as our young soldiers being brutalized now.  Would that make a difference?  I hope all the gory details of their torture are splashed across every front page of every American newspaper. I hope photographs of their dismemberments are shown.  I hope the drill marks from tools entering their bodies while they are alive are shown.

Will graphic illustrations wake up this sleeping nation?  Unlikely, for who here is sick and tired of Bush’s war besides families directly affected?

White the lame duck “leader” of the U.S. goes to bed promptly at 9 p.m. every night, while he naps 2 hrs. daily, exercises, receives a guest or two, speaks the words others have written, tries to grapple with common everyday English, our soldiers die in vain.  They march into an inferno. What are we do-nothing voters doing about it?  Nothing!  Just like the Do Nothing members of Congress that we sadly elected last fall.  DNC = Do Nothing Congress.  But, ah…who cares?  Not you, not me, not the “leaders” of our nation who are supposed to lead instead of putting their tales between their legs and whining:  “We can’t do anything!”  “Leaders”?  They are a cruel joke.

Very bad news for the families of those missing soldiers when they were captured by the devils.

What Bush/Cheney can do to free these young men ? Or they’re just sitting in their huge mansions with big banquets to celebrate their illusionay victories ?
