Sir Patrick, who is 84, also implied that the popular British working-class show “EastEnders” is akin to “diarrhea.”

Veteran BBC presenter and astronomer Sir Patrick Moore, host of “The Sky at Night” program for half a century, believes that the network’s standards have slipped dramatically since the “golden days,” and those pesky women are to blame.  His solution?  Two separate BBC “wavelengths”—one for women, one for men.

Daily Mail:

He was asked whether television had got better or worse during his career. He replied “much worse” and added: “The trouble is that the BBC is now run by women and it shows—soap operas, cooking, quizzes, kitchen-sink plays.

“You wouldn’t have had that in the golden days.”

Asked about female newsreaders, he said: “There was one day (in 2005) when BBC News went on strike. Then we had the headlines read by a man, talking the Queen’s English, reading the news impeccably. Oh, for the good old days.”

There was a time when these comments would make me mad but the times they are a changing, and I am so glad that this country will finally elect a women president, and I am sure that person will be Hiliary, you know the women from New York, and critics said she did not have a chance to win and she won, they called her a carpet bagger, kind of like that twit Newt Gimgrich, but even the man was smarter than this guy Bush, you know the Decider Guy, or as I like to call him, The Emperor who has no chothes, or Shrub.

On the surface of what he says I can’t say it is all together a false statment. I might even be for it, but unfortunately men control a lot of the programing and all I can get over the air in this rural area are sports, infomercials, sports, religion, sports, and more sports.

Still age hath its privelege and I think he can be forgiven for having an opinion. It is one of my observations that the further you go to the right and the further you go to the left eventually you wind up in the same place oppression, dictatorship and loss of rights.

Ah for the good old days when the BBC had 3 programs and 2 of them were the mating habits of the aristocrats like Moore.I am sure that fall of the English Empire also depresses Mr Moore. You have got to be really smart to make that stupid a statement.I am sure the very lucky Mrs Moore will have a comment once he unlocks the attic.
