Senate Approves Iraq TimetablePosted on Mar 27, 2007
The Senate narrowly defeated a Republican amendment Tuesday that would have removed a withdrawal plan from the emergency war spending bill. As the legislation stands, the U.S. will have to begin a troop withdrawal within four months after the law is enacted and complete the pullout by March 31, 2008.

Bush’s objection to benchmarks and timetables makes no sense. When Iraq meets those benchmarks and timetables, doesn’t that mean we won?

How can any member of Congress vote to fund the war and say he or she wants us out of Iraq? Sort of reminds you of Kerry’s “I voted for the supplemental before I voted against it.” Go to Kucinich.us. Read HR 1234 if you’re curious about what a real plan to end the war looks like.
