A British government official confided to BBC columnist John Simpson that he wishes he had questioned the presented evidence of WMDs in Iraq before the war began.  As it turns out, the British intelligence agency MI6 apparently hadn’t possessed solid details about Iraqi chemical and biological weapons for many years.

BBC:

On the fourth anniversary of the invasion, Baghdad experienced at least six bomb explosions, with up to 20 dead and dozens of injuries. Much of Iraq is still in a state of violence and fear.

The war was sold to the British people on the basis that intelligence reports showed Saddam Hussein to be a serious threat.

Like it or not, we are responsible for our president. Using a term our Texan would understand. Sack up! For godsakes, stop pissing and moaning, the American people still hold power we’ve just forgotten that. We’ve allowed ourselves to get comfortable and fat. My high school teacher warned me about being ‘content’. He told me that if ever I was to feel content, I should get myself the hell out of that situations.
We come from a background of warriors, not Eichmanns. Do something. As a nation we have the money to address poverty and global warming. Demand that our dummies in office focus on that. Politics are popularity contests. Let them know that is unacceptable for the Prom King to rape Iraqis. Let them know we want a hero, not a nancy boy. Let me clarify, heroes fight for justice and truth, not for glory and cash.

the world needs to bring Bushco up one war crime charges since it seems we here in the US are dragging our feet on accountability. the same needs to be done to Blair.

How could the British and American people be so stupid? Why were they so quick to accept the “facts” and judge? Why? Because the tendency is that water rolls downhill and imperialism has seeped into the blood of the British and American people and they know not that their blood is tainted with greed and devoid of compassion.

Shame on all who voted for the Bush regime which caused this.

Hubris. Blair wanted to add the crowning glory of a victorious war leader, as a Churchill or Thatcher, to his “legacy.” Sic transit gloriam. Whatever good he did, although I believe that it was all spin, is now lost. Both Bush and Blair are “great war leaders” as a Hitler leading their nations to destruction rather than a Churchill leading one’s country from the darkest days into the light of freedom.

“He wishes he had questioned the presented evidence of WMDs in Iraq before the war began”.

Just another believer in Bu$hit wanting to get in a time machine and make it all better. I see that pathetic lemming leadership is a trait in both countries.

Questions are a burden for others - answers a prison for oneself.

Mr Blair and his staff could be in a lot more hot water than Bushco. Britan is a signatory to the World Court. Meaning, Mr Blair and company could be standing in the docket of the world court charged with war crimes. There will be no pardons for Blair and his lakeys if they are found guilty of war crimes in that arena.
The famous Spanish jurist (cant recall his name at the moment) that attempted to extridite Pinochet from Chile to stand trial for crimes against humanity in the world court commented a couple of days ago that in his opinion the regimes of GB and the US could stand trial for war crimes in Iraq. Of course, the US is not a signatory to the world court. Bush should be thanking his lucky stars.
I firmly believe that if the US were signatories to the world court that this debacle in Iraq would not have happened. We know that Bush/Cheney were too chicken to go to the Nam so they certainly would not have risked their necks in a trial for war crimes in front of the world court.

Why are we still discussing this?  Quit blaming some amorphous “flawed” intelligence.  Bush LIED through his teeth so he could play warrior and enrich his friends.
