Arnold Schwarzenegger has had enough of Rush Limbaugh, who refers to the California governor as a “closet liberal.” On Tuesday’s “Today Show,” Arnold fired back, saying “Limbaugh is irrelevant.” That was apparently too much for Rush, who responded on own show by saying Arnold has clearly “sold out.”

CNN:

Rush Limbaugh likes to call himself “The Most Dangerous Man in America” because critics have long worried about how his powerful radio show shapes the political landscape.

And then came California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who frankly told “The Today Show” Tuesday that “Limbaugh is irrelevant.”

“I’m not his servant,” Schwarzenegger said. “I am the people’s servant of California.”

“In 19th century Great Britain practically colonized China by utilizing opium to pacify the public. “

Not really to pacify the public, Britain didn’t have enough power to even quasi-colonize China at the time—just take on a couple ports (e.g. Hong Kong), with the government in Whitehall essentially acting as drug lord, killing off millions of pesky darkies in India by cutting down Indians food-crop farms and converting them into poppy fields, among other things.  Which were supported by the, uh, “demand” from China.

Besides, Britain had just gotten a serious ass-whoopin’ from the Afghans around the same time as the first Opium War—the Afghan warriors not only defeated the British in 1842, they basically annihilated an entire British army of about 20,000 and used their bodies as decoration for the mountain ranges.  (Afghans humiliating a haughty and arrogant European army—damn, that sounds awful familiar.)  Also the Q’ing Dynasty, corrupt and feckless as it was, still had enough troops to pummel a number of British and other Western landings after the first and second Opium Wars (one of the reasons why China, like Japan and Thailand, was never colonized by the Europeans), so Britain just contented itself with doing the drug lord thing from Kong Kong and Kowloon.  If anything, it was in India—half of which Britain actually did colonize—that the Opium Wars had their deadliest impact, since the darkies had to be “displaced” to make room for the opium fields.

I have heard that listening to Limbo is a cure for constipation and common sense. Could this be another Rosie - Trump feud. Will the ditto head army storm Sacramento, news at 10. How many decades ago did Limbo sell out. The GOP owns the contract to his soul. It’s written on the same toilet paper as his daily radio diatribes.

I think that it is funny that two huge liars like Rush and Ah-nold are duking it out.  The Governator has broken just aboout every claim he made in his disgraceful coup (recall) against Gov. Davis.  He is a former steroid abuser, sexual harraser, poor motorcycle driver, and first class a hole.  Mr Rush, a more current drug abuser is a complete joke.  The difference is that Rush just took over talk radio, while Mr Olympia has taken over California. Rush I can laugh at, while as I am a Californio, I can only cry at what Arnie is doing to my state.

ps: Memo to Arnold: Bodybuilding is not a sport, it is a beauty pagent.

Hooray for Arnold!  California elected a principled Republican; and one of his principles is not to be intimidated by a drugged-out, thrice divorced, ignorant, loudmouth.  In other words, Arnold is not a “dittohead”.

Rush speaks to the approx 35% that still favor all that Bushco does. I suppose if Bush stated on live tv that he ordered 911 that his approval rating would remain at 35%! Ditto heads is precisely what Rush’s/Bushco’s 35% is comprised of.

This 35% are fortunate that they are not living in Hitler’s Third Reich for they would be sterilized for intellectual impairment.

I find it interesting that Olmert (Israel) has an approval rating of only 3%, thats right, 3%, while Bush has an approval rating of 35% (assuming that we can believe the American polls).

In my opinion those figures speak loudly of the political savy of Israelis compared to the political savy of Americans.

Good for Arnold. Although he’s a Repub, I support a lot of what he is doing, especially when it comes to the environment. Rush Limbaugh is irrelevant, he’s the biggest joke in politics. Besides Ann Coulter, of course.

Everyone should listen to about 15 minutes of Rush Limbaugh a day. It it cleansing.

I’m no Limbaugh apologist, but I did hear Limbaugh’s comments on this and he was very gracious about this little kerfuffle. He said they were friends, he said they have shared many cigars, he said he knows that AS was baited into the question/answer on Limbaugh after 3-4 previous questions about Limbaugh were turned aside.

Having said that, the “sold out” quote is correct. I can’t recall how he tried to soften that, but it certainly wasn’t said with bitterness or anger.

It seemed to me that Rush was not spoiling for a fight at all.

Before I turned away from the program, a caller speculated that AS was angling for a Senate run in CA or for a high cabinet position in a Democrat-controlled White House, and Rush warned against speculation.

Limbaugh is not only irrelevant, he and his sensationalized clones, (Rove, Coulter, Hannity, Gibson, O’Reilly, G. Gordon Liddy, Michael Reagan, etc.) have so thoroughly incensed Americans they’ll be lucky enough to survive until another republican government comes into power.  And rightly so.

So Rush says he’s a “conservative” and wears it like a badge of honor.  That’s good.  People should believe in something I suppose.  So, I guess being conservative means it’s okay to have an affair and it’s okay to doctor shop for prescription meds.  That’s pretty cool.  I guess if it’s good enough for Rush, it’s good enough for America.

Hail Rush and conservativism!!

Not that I care much about anything Arnold has to say.  Limbaugh as the leader of the right wing barking dogs, utilizing the naivete of the general public, has done more damage to this country than all the communists, fascists, terrorists.  The political discourse has become so fraudulant, one sided, vile, bitter, divisive, hostile, deceptive that is beyond belief.  Appealing to the zeal and ignorance of the public, playing on their fears such as xenophobia, displaying a fake and shallow “conservatism”, staying in a one way format where there are no challengers, he has mastered the art of voluntary brainwashing where simpltons allow this fraud to form their opinions for them. Dittoheads follow his words as though Jesus has spoken.  He has said to be doing “all the thinking” for them.  His formula has been so successful that other right wing nuts have popped up all over the place.  Of course, success doesn’t make it right.  In 19th century Great Britain practically colonized China by utilizing opium to pacify the public.  As vile and disgusting as it was, it was wildly successful.  Right wing nut jobs today are the equivalent of China’s opium.  The weak are addicted to them.

This whole article seems “irrelevant” - Two powerful guys - one a governor - one a nationally know radio personality/critic/talk-show host trading barbs!  Is this really news?  Hardly!
