We took any acknowledgement of God out of our schools, by taking “In God We Trust” off our coins we should receive the same results in our economy as we did our schools “Chaos”

Oh my gosh! I wonder if the cops will arrest someone who will try to spend it? Jail4Judges recently posted an article about a guy who tried to pay for some gas with a 1 oz. fine Silver round (a Liberty round) (like, the REAL thing).
Even though the clerk confirmed it was real, and didn’t complain, he got hauled into jail by the cops, and now faces a Class E felony charge (“criminal simulation”? or something like that).
See the post by Jail4Judges at:

It’s crazy. And now they have all these coins floating around. How many clerks or tellers WILL decide they are false and people have to deal with one more hassle.

As hypocritical as we as a nation are (especially the religious right) it may be a step in the right direction to NOT have “In God We Trust” on our money. Even the holier-than-thous among us have shown that materialism and especially money is much more worthy of their trust and time and endeavors than anything spiritual. The direction that we as a society seems headed in certainly isn’t a result of our trust in anything profound or sublime let alone principled or of the common good. I think Cheney’s visage on the next coin with “Fuck You, I Got Mine” inscribed under it would be far more appropriate.

“In God We Trust” does not belong on our money for 2 reasons:
1) Obviously, it is an endorsement of religion—several billion people on Earth (and millions of them are Americans) do not believe in a single god—from Native Americans, to Hindus, Buddhists, et al. Also, for Agnostics and Atheists this is jamming a state religion down their throats. It CLEARLY and OBVIOUSLY violates the 1st Amendment and the Establishment Clause of the Constitution. Yet jingo-religionists want those “inconvenient” parts of the Constitution ignored—like it was an a la carte menu.
2) I believe devout religious people should be against it being on the money as well. It’s not MY logic, but the logic of one of the two greatest Republican Presidents we have ever had—Theodore Roosevelt. TR, who was an EXTREMELY religious man, led the campaign to have ALL the money redesigned (and those redesigns were the most BEAUTIFUL coins we have ever had). He reasoning was that it was SACRILEGIOUS to put God’s name on a thing of Mammon—Money. By doing so, TR believed we were taking God’s name in vain, going against the 10 Commandments, and the teachings of Jesus as well.
How come NONE of the so-called “religious” ever notice that?

I guess that’s the only way left to increase the value of the dollar. How many government inspectors does it take to inspect a coin? NONE - a government inspector is an oxymoron.

Where would be a good place to look for these besides eBay?

What do you expect? Our government has not had God in it for the last six years.

Correction: newly-minted coins lack the superfluity of “In God We Trust”.

This coin looks like the cheap chocolates wrapped in gold foil to resemble a coin.
