Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad got some face time for the first time with Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah on Saturday.  The Mideast leaders discussed how to curb sectarian violence in the region, the Iraq war and Iran’s developing nuclear program, among other weighty topics.


Al Jazeera:

The leaders of Iran and Saudi Arabia have agreed to fight the spread of sectarian strife between Sunnis and Shias in Iraq and elsewhere in the Middle East.

Saudi’s King Abdullah and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also discussed the war in Iraq in their first ever face-to-face meeting on Saturday.

I’m glad they’re talking.

I am sure the Saudis understand that both Iran and Saudi Arabia are on the Israeli/neocon hit list. Saudi Arabia is just a little farther down the list.

The leaders of both nations have a duty to their peoples to defend themselves from the murderous aggressions of the US and Israel.

Now if King Abdullah had pulled up his robes, Ahmadinejad could have had some face time with the entire Bush clan.
