Most Americans Want Out of Iraq, No Matter WhatPosted on Feb 26, 2007
A majority of Americans—56 percent—now favor a withdrawal from Iraq, even if it leaves the country in chaos. According to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll, two-thirds also opposed a “surge” of troops, and 58 percent approved of Jack Murtha’s plan to stop the escalation.

There was never an exit strategy for Iraq and there still is not, because we do not intend to exit Iraq.
We have poured billions of dollars into four gigiantic military complexes and built the largest US embassy in the world in Baghdad.
We are in Iraq to stay because the pesky native Iraquis have to be discouraged from blowing up the new oil infrastructure that is about to be put in place by Enron, Chevron, BP, Shell, et.al. See link below.

The ‘new Iraq oil law’ (written in English, strangely) is being hustled through the Iraqi assembly/ministries as quickly as possible. Many in the Iraqi assembly had not seen the ‘new law’ untill it appeared on the internet. Notice that it uses PSAs (profit sharing agreements) that are normally reserved for expensive and risky oil exploration in difficult terrain. Iraqi oil costs $1 per barrel to get out of the ground and much of the exploratory drilling has already been done. The only building that we protected when Baghdad fell was the oil ministry where all the exploratory data was filed. The PSAs will allow major oil companies to get 75% and Iraq to get 25% of the oil that comes from Iraqi soil. The new law also allows the heads of the worlds major oil companies seats on the Iraqi Oil Ministry and so they will call the shots about how much will be pumped and for what price it will be sold. What sort of democracy is it that allows the heads of foreign corporations to sit in internal ministeral posts? The law in its current form is so vauge that it is reminiscent of their constitution. It can be interpreted in any way one wishes.
We will be in Iraq untill thier oil is gone unless the Iraqis can run us out or some unforseen incident occurs to cause us to leave.
Any American that continues to believe that we invaded Iraq to install democracy is about as bright as a bag of hammers…or is in total denial about the motivations of the Chimp and Vader.

Nobody gets it! George Bush and his cadre of incompetent neocon ideologues don’t care one bit about what Americans want. They are driven exclusively by what Exxon Mobil, Halliburton, General Electric, etc. want. And what THEY want is total ownership of Iraq in perpetuity. So, unless we get a President in 2009 with courage, don’t expect the military-industrial complex to EVER abandon their prize. After all, if you’re willing to slaughter hundreds of thouands of innocent men, women, and children to achieve your aims, you certainly aren’t going to let a little thing like the will of the people dissuade you.

The real news is not that sixty-four percent of North Americans now think the war is not worth the cost, but who are the thirty-six percent who still think it is?
Profile them and we will be closer to understanding the real reasons for attacking Iraq.

As Americans look deeper into the reasons Cheney, Bush and the neocons invaded Iraq, we see many hidden factors.
The American people, the media and investigators are starting to see and understand these covert motivations, plans and, yes, conspiracies.
The many apparent “mistakes” made by the Bush administration now seem to be part of these hidden plans.

One thing from every poll is clear. If I’m in an elevator with 3 or 4 other adults, I can be certain that at least one of them is a complete idiot.

All those percentages do not amount to a row of beans, as you say.
The realities of the last 60 odd years tell everyone that you guys are prepared to see 2000 of your soldiers/boys/girls/citizens killed in any one year, year on year ; that has not happened yet in this, your latest adventure in your US war.
What a bloody shame ....

Is this a surprise to anyone? Thanks Barbara, you did a wonderful job raising a serial killer! If this country is supposed to be a democracy, then George W. Bush must be impeached and turned over to the International Criminal Court for war crimes. Maybe the Iraqi Shites can perform the hanging.
As for Mr. ” Go F**k Yourself, Unka Dicky as I call him; he should be convicted for the fraud in organizing Georgie’s illegal and immoral war and then also put down, like they’ve done to so many of both our citizens and the Iraqis. When was the last time you heard either one of them talk about their buddy, Osama bin Laden?
