Pentagon Gives Cherry-Pickers a Slap on the Wrist

Posted on Feb 8, 2007
Doug Feith

An internal review by the Pentagon found that the intelligence cherry-picking policy shop run by Douglas Feith (right), a group President Bush relied on to sell the war, acted inappropriately but not illegally. The inspector general’s findings will be made public at a Senate hearing Friday.

At the center of the prewar intelligence controversy was the work of a small number of Pentagon officials from Feith’s office and the office of Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz who reviewed CIA intelligence analyses and put together their own report. When they briefed Rumsfeld on their report in August 2002—a period when Vice President
Dick Cheney and other administration officials were ratcheting up their warnings about the gravity of the Iraq threat—Rumsfeld directed them to also brief CIA Director George Tenet.

Their presentation, which included assertions about links between al-Qaida and the Iraqi government, contained a criticism that the intelligence community was ignoring or underplaying its own raw reports on such potential links.

The controversy has simmered for several years. The Senate Intelligence Committee included the Office of Special Plans in its investigation into the prewar intelligence on Iraq, but the committee did not finish that portion of its work when it released the first part of its findings in July 2004.

In a dissenting view attached to the committee’s report, three Democratic senators, including Levin, said that Pentagon policymakers sought to undermine the analysis of the intelligence community by circumventing the CIA and briefing their own views directly to the White House. This was a particular problem when the spy agencies’ judgments did not conform to the administration’s dire views on Iraqi links to al-Qaida, the senators said.

All of these folks who had anything to do with starting the Iraq war should be tried as war criminals. Bush and company frabricated their own intelligence, concocted lies about ties to Al-Queda,lied about uranium from Niger, outed a CIA operative, tortured, killed and kidnaped innocent people in order to settle old, scores, steal oil, and make billions for their war profiteering cronies.Impeachment is no longer good enough. Only jail is sufficient. Congress needs to act now,but they won’t. We need to support our troops by protecting them from the lying war mongering maniac that sent them into a illegal immoral, unethical war, The Commander in WAR CRIMES George W Bush.

Douglas Feith created misleading information in order to start a war. He should be held responsible and prosecuted for any resulting deaths. Of course, his Masters (Bush and Cheney)should be held responsible too. Perhaps they can all be put to sleep so the rest of us can rest easy.

Douglas Feith is one several zionists who was well connected to the pentagon. He, Richard Perle & Paul Wolfowitz were the leaders of the Pentagon gang. They were all closely connected with Cheney. They worked non-stop to get America to go to war against Iraq for “WMD’s” & other deceptive lies.

One notices that Isreal’s undeclared arsenals of “WMD’s” are never brought up or discussed by Cheney, George W., Douglas Feith, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz & many others in the administration or the mainstream news media.

How do we know that these individuals are not connected to the Israeli Embassy and/or the Israeli Mossad?

Cheney, George W & Rumsfeld, have kept a tight lid on all these secrets & who is behind all the damn DECEPTIONS that got us into this terrible & costly war.

This deck was clearly stacked, and no doubt the plan is to “clear” the criminals while the administration still has enough people in the positions necessary to do so.

Let’s examine what REALLY happened here…

The Bush administration brought in 32 of the top members of The Project for a New American Century (PNAC) to institute their plans to invade Iraq as soon as the most flimsy of justifications could be made.

After 9/11, every possible attempt to tie Saddam to al Qaeda was made by key members of the administration including Cheney, despite huge quantities of intelligence to the contrary.

Abram Shulsky was appointed the head of the Office of Special Plans and given the assignment to find or create any sort of intelligence that could be used to justify invading Iraq.

General Anthony Zinni was sent to the Middle East to try to convince our Arab friends that we had such evidence, but returned and said he considered the evidence questionable.

Ambassador Richard Clark was sent to Niger to try to verify the “yellowcake” myth, and he returned to say he considered the evidence questionable.

Both were discredited by the administration.

Congress and the Press were subjected to a well-orchestrated sales job on Iraq being at the heart of our war on terror based on “evidence” gathered by the Office of Special Plans and Douglas Feith’s office.

Congress accepted what they were being told, and even echoed many of the lies publicly… thus making it difficult for them to later say they were duped.

Once the falsehoods became apparent:

“We know where [Iraq’s WMD] are. They’re in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south, and north somewhat.” - Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, March 30, 2003, in statements to the press.

...the Office of Special Plans was disbanded and their records were no doubt destroyed.

Nearly a trillion dollars later, nearly 3200 soldiers dead, over 20,000 wounded and no end in sight… there is no indication that anyone did anything illegal.

Douglas Feith’s Office of Special Plans may be a key to uncovering an elaborate plot to take the US into war in Iraq, Iran and beyond.

Feith, his boss Paul Wolfowitz and others involved in the Office of Special Plans might have created fraudulent intelligence that could border on treason.

Others in very high positions of the US Government may have also been involved.

President Bush was “Shocked!  Just shocked that such things were going on behind his back.  This revelation begs the question: Were George Bush, Condi Rice, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell, etc. involved in phonying up the WMD evidence?  Or were they all just too dumb to know what was going on right down the hall?  With the exception of Bush, I don’t think any of them were that stupid.

Finally!!  Politicians are realizing what a good share of the general population realized years ago. Hope it makes them GAG that the French were right all along.  Sadly, thousands of lives have been lost while the politicians play catch-up. By the time they realize the crimes of Bu$hCo the pardons will have already been signed and the criminals will be living the high life somewhere in South America. I’ve been right about this misadministration since 1999, but take no pleasure in that fact.

Neocon Feith is intensely loyal to Israel and put it’s best interests above all others. Thus, he helped prepare Israeli plans for mayhem in the middle east, and has been one of Bush’s most effective neocon handlers on behalf of Israel.

This is one more example of this Administration’s criminality. On the other hand I would say that the real criminals were they ones who used the “fake Facts” to bully support for their high handed and irresponsible use of our military and the country’s good name for their personal arrogance and lust for wealth and invasion of a country that has never, never invaded us, nor tried to do so.

Oh yeah, right.

Douglas Feith falsified and invented intelligence to lie this country into war - but he DIDN’T do anything criminal.

Next: an investigation will find that Feith is an animal doctor - but he ISN’T a veterinarian.

For a great read on this vile human being goggle “The Lie Factory” by Robert Dreyfuss or Seymour Hersh and an article called “The Stovepipe.”

These two articles alone will show you how pre-war intelligence was fabricated and sold to the American people, much like the bogus intelligence we now see about Iran.
