A group of Al Gore’s campaign veterans and supporters met in Boston on Thursday to brainstorm a potential 2008 bid for the presidency. The former vice president denied any involvement and still insists he’s not running for anything, but his strong policy stances, unrivaled experience, name recognition and fundraising ability have supporters around the country hoping he’ll change his mind.

AP:

CONCORD, N.H. (AP)—Veterans of Al Gore’s past are quietly assembling a campaign to draft the former vice president into the 2008 presidential race - despite his repeated statements that he’s not running.

His top policy adviser from his 2000 presidential campaign and other key supporters met Thursday in Boston to mull a potential Gore campaign. The participants and Gore’s Nashville office both said Gore, who is in London, is not involved.

Elaine Kamarck, a veteran of the Clinton White House and Gore’s policy guru in 2000, said the meeting was informal and shouldn’t be taken as a sign there will be a Gore 2008 campaign.

Chris Mackin, a Boston consultant and Gore supporter, called it “an early stage conversation.” But he added: “We’re very serious about exploring this.”

Al Gore is not the only one with a lengthy record of highly successful government service to bolster any run for the Presidency.  Gov. Bill Richardson’s history is even more stellar.  Unfortunately he lacks charisma; and that, unfortunately, sways voters more than resume’.

Excerpt from a possible Al Gore campaign speech:

“My fellow Americans, my opponent belongs to the political party that calls itself the ‘War Party.’ I, however, have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. My opponent belongs to the party that thinks oil company profits are more important than the air we breathe. I, however, believe that it’s more important that our children breathe clean air than it is for oil companies to make record-breaking profits. But, most importantly, if I’d remained President for four years after the 2000 elections, instead of for just four minutes, the world wouldn’t be in the mess it’s in now. So now’s your chance to turn back the clock.”

Gore’s main concern is global warming, and he knows full well that the best opportunity he has to do anything about it is for him to become President of the United States.

So he’s going to run. And, if Bush and Cheney haven’t destroyed the world by 2008, he’ll win.

Perhaps a Gore/Kerry ticket in ‘08 to correct both thefts, 2000 in Florida and 2004 in Ohio.

Gore ALLIES? Surely that is a joke. Looks like they are looking for something to add to their resumes to ride on his success. Please keep these people FAR away from Al Gore who is a decent man doing great things for this world now.

I would work very hard to elect Mr. Gore and I would like for Senator Feingold to be his VP.  They have the most integrity of all.  However, Mr. Gore may be able to accomplish more as he is than spending all of his time cleaning up this horrible mess that will take years and years to recover from.  If ever!

If Vice President Al Gore had not had the Oval office stolen from him, America would not have become embroiled in an insane war, he would have enforced The Kyoto Treaty and the Earth would have been well on the route to becoming healthy again.
In comparison, Gore is a giant in intellect and morals and Bush is a dwarf in both.  Bush could not shine Gore’s shoes when it comes to honor and the ability to think for himself.
I would be one happy camper to see Gore run for president again, with Obama as his running mate.  It would be a team that could not lose.

Me 3. My brother in OH suggested Al and Hillary for 2008 so I made a bumper sticker:

Gore 4 President (picture of earth)
Clinton 4 VP (pic of statue of liberty w/flag backdrop) 2008

Even if he was elected (again) the repugs know that if they contest the election forcefully enough, he will cave—just like he did last time.

Gore won in 2000. Can’t we let him be president now, after the imposter has wrecked everything? By 2008, he might have added Academy Award winner and Nobel Peace Prize recipient to his honours. If Gore becomes prez, my wife and I can move back to America!

Wouldn’t it be entertaining if Gore were the first president elected by write in? The only reason I wouldn’t is because I wouldn’t want to force someone into this position who didn’t actively pursue it. That’s just asking for trouble normally, let alone when the person has to clean up the mess left behind by the previous idiot…er… I mean, occupant.
